What is your most nostalgic thing in GTA Vicecity?

For me its the menu sound. When you pause the game and then return and hear this one fast sound. And all the other sound effects in general, like the sound when you pick up an item.

I think for me, the most nostalgic thing about VC would be the map. It's just so simple to look at compared to the complex and huge maps we have today. Definitely something we don't have or want in the series anymore but still has it's charm every time you look at it.

The soundtrack, especially Fever 105, Emotion 98.3 and Wave 103 for me. I was playing the PS2 version a week ago and listening to those radio stations, and "ahh, those memories from the good old days", the nostalgia hits like a train.

Probably the sounds on the street. All the pedestrians, the weather, the traffic, ect.

The cars' handling.

I also have GTA 3 + San Andreas and VC is the only one where driving a car and making a race is funny.

The trails effect (that blur and color filter) on PS2, I love it!

The HAZE.

I remember playing with the trails on back when I was younger. It brings me back.

The general ambience and feel of the game; the weather cycles, the look of cruising down Ocean Drive in a Stinger or Cheetah at night whilst some 80s pop plays, as mentioned above the trails/haze of the sun coronas and just the general aesthetic of the game. Without a doubt Vice City is the one game I've spent the most time playing and I doubt I'll ever get bored of it.

I love this song, VC has better songs on the radios than the other episodes I have.

The soundtrack, the menu, the rockstar logo when you first turn the game on, the chainsaw, Tommy's Hawaiian shirt, the ocean view hotel, and the very beginning cutscene of the game where Sonny is sitting at the table and talking while 'Broken Wings' is playing in the background.

The general feeling of the whole game. Driving around in the all-time Sunny weather around Ocean Drive, Washington Beach, Docks, Downtown and some of the classic cars.

Every time I watch this I feel like Doc and Marty in a Delorean going back in time to the 80s.

For me it's these things that stick out for my nostalgia :

* The intro.

* The soundtrack

* Ocean Drive

* The Vercetti mansion.

* The Malibu Club.

I remember how at Ocean Beach by the lighthouse, I would mess around with pedestrians and getting them to land on the water.

Gotta be the soundtrack for me, especially Billy Jean by MJ and Out of Touch by Hall & Oates.

And also the first time in GTA we were really able to FLY! Even to this day, I sometimes hijack a helicopter and roam the city because you don't have to deal with nasty traffic and can just focus on watching the beautiful areas of town.  :lol:

I also think that sunsets in Vice City are beautiful, especially when watching from the beach.

The difficulty of the missions is better dosed than in GTA 3 and San Andreas.

Soundtrack. Theres certain songs that I hear on the radio (real life) that remind me of Vice City. Walked into Dunkin Donuts, which had a song that I associate with VC.

I remember how at Ocean Beach by the lighthouse, I would mess around with pedestrians and getting them to land on the water.

So much this, it felt like the best thing ever for young me to knock them off the pier and watch them drown.

I share the nostalgic feeling for most of the things written above. VC is unique.

That said, I find myself with this stuck in my head very often ;)

For me it's pizza boy, Vce Point mall , downtown area near Hyman condos, and mission "Guardian Angels"

First time delivering pizza while listening to Africa was... weird, awesome and sad and painful.

Downtown area reminds me of 80s/90s movies/ music videos too much for some reason.

"Guardian Angels" - I used to be a real dick when I was 16 and I got jealous/angry at my brother for passiung this mission before me.

Going to Vice Point mall makes me feel like a child, I can't explain why.

But is nostalgia a bad thing? It seems to have negative characteristics when old games are being discussed.

The pedestrians who walk the streets as if they were on the beach and the impression of constantly being in a summer holiday.
