-Smoke's and Ryder's betrayals were handled terribly. It was obvious that Ryder was going to be a back stabbing prick at some point and even though they tried being more subtle with Smoke ironically his deception was made even more obvious i.e not living in Grove Street or helping in "Drive Thru".

-Assets were a huge step backwards from Vice City.

Fat man's gotta have his food. You can't seriously tell that he's up to something bad when he's eating during the Drive-Thru mission and was there for comedic purpose. Also SA is not an asset/empire focused unlike Vice City so we only get a small portion of that, ie; The Wang Cars showroom and the Casino heist.

And that's why it's a step backwards. I thought San Andreas was going to expand on it. Not water it down where only a couple of things matter.

It's pretty clear he was deliberately using the food as an excuse to not shoot. Also, why risk getting your life taken out for some food? Smoke may be a big eater, but he's not stupid enough to choose food over his own life. Also, there were more hints on Smoke's betrayal (not attending the Johnson's mother's funeral, trying to change the subject of the brothers' mom's death in the Drive-Thru mission, living in Idlewood, a.k.a. Ballas' territory, CR.A.S.H. entering and exiting his house).

Ryder's betrayal on the other hand made no sense whatsoever. Aside from maybe the mission Reuniting the Families, there weren't really any obvious hints to his betrayal

Well, San Andreas is mainly focused on gangbanging. It wouldn't really make sense to have multiple multi-million dollar companies run by someone who also runs a gang in the ghettoes of Los Santos :p.

The game would have been funnier if Sweet died and CJ was working with Ryder than Cesar to complete his revenge.

The Truth should have been available from the game start because he's the funniest one I know.

It'd be more interesting if Ballas were doing driveby's in Grove St from time to time. And It'd be more interesting if the gangs would be at least 30% more hostile than they are right now.

The game would have been even funnier if the player could severe the arms and legs like in GTA 3 and explode the corpses like in Half-Life or Total overdose.

Did anybody else love the riot period of Los Santos? At the time it felt so novel, to have this city we've grown so used to erupt in chaos. There were vehicles exploding on every street corner, looters running rampant and smoke effects in the distance giving the illusion of house fires. It was a mess and I loved it.

That was a pretty cool nod to the 1992 L.A riots. Made it feel like an urban war zone.

Nods aside, it felt like a refreshing change to not be the only one tearing the place apart. Oddly enough I was probably better behaved during the riots than anybody else - there was too much of a heavy police presence to make crime convenient!

I found it more annoying than anything else especially when doing missions.

Ryder was a great character wasted - cool, good voice actor and didn't give a f*ck, he shouldn't have betrayed cj he should've been one of those guys who acts mean and tough but deep down a good guy who's just busting your balls

the vagos were cool, just chilling over in east los santos but should've been featured in the game more

I actually liked tenpenny and pulaski for some reason

The badlands part of the game was good, it was good being exiled from los santos and having to start up from the bottom again

San Fierro is the best city there's just not enough to do there unfortunately

Bounce fm is the best radio station

Because Sweet is nothing but an irritating ungrateful bastard whereas Ryder is very funny and charismatic.

I think a lot of people agree with you that he died too early. I feel like he should have betrayed the Grove, because that fits his character perfectly, but I think he died way too early. I think he should have died in the return to Los Santos, and they should have made that section of the game a bit longer.

Agreed. It feels really nice to drive around. There's a weird cliff thing on the western shore of the island, I don't think many people know it's there, and it's really cool to see. Parachuting across to different buildings from The Big Pointy Building is fun too.

Looks to be a translation problem, Which game did you buy, as remastered does not tell much?

E: Looked it up, your game has been modified, I am surprised you did not know it.
The Boxburg is a Mod replacement for the Original Boxville.

I don't think this discussion has anything to do with this thread.

GTA San Andreas is one of my most favorite games in the series, alongside GTA IV. However, that doesn't mean SA is without flaws. First, one thing that really got on my nerves are the bullsh*t flying missions, such as N.O.E. (Nap of the Earth), Freefall, and Learning to Fly. Saint Mark's Bistro wasn't too bad, however, because that didn't entail flying through some stupid course. All you had to do was fly straight. And don't even get me started on Vertical Bird.

Second, the game makes you f*ck around and waste time. The prime example that illustrates this is obtaining the casino keycard for the heist mission towards the end of the game. So I have to "date" this chick before she gives me her keycard? Often, she's not even home, and it took me forever to figure out that you had to be wearing the gimp suit, in order to even start the date, otherwise you'll be rejected. This whole thing was a great waste of time. Why not break into her house, and steal it, without going through all this dating bullsh*t? (I know you can kill her, get a call from Woozie, and then steal it, but sometimes the game doesn't let you outside with her.)

Third, the map is confusing, and the radar system doesn't really help with this. This is the trouble with having a large, vast, multi-level map. For the later missions in the game, such as Body Harvest, you'll be looking back and forth from the map to the game, just to find out where you're supposed to go. It took me a long time to figure out where the farm was in Body Harvest, because the game didn't tell me exactly where to go. A GPS, like in GTA IV, would be apt for this game. However, once you've played the game enough, you'll learn the map over time, without having to refer back to the game's main map every time you're confused about something. But any new player would be extremely irritated.

Fourth and finally, they made the game too much like the Sims. I know they wanted to make the game more realistic, but come on. This is GTA ffs, not the Sims, or whatever. I feel like a lot of the things they implemented are just unnecessary for a game like GTA.

These are merely the only negative things about the game. It's a good game, and was definitely a major improvement from III and VC, but no game's perfect.

K-DST and K Rose are the best radio stations in the entire game.

Okay, people will murder me for this but I think K-DST was the worst radio station in the game. I just don't like it and I find it overrated. Don't comment on this, please, I am allowed to have my own opinion, right? :p

I loved the Gang Wars.

The game could take a lot of polishing to become even better, such as reimplementing the Mafia gang, adding the Rifa gang tags, fixing up the gang relations and whatnot.

The game would be much funnier if CJ could cut the enemies in 2 with the chainsaw like in the katana mod for Max Payne.
