Aw this is awesome, by far and away my favourite GTA of the RW era. Sure SA was bigger etc but something about VC just draws me in everytime!

Will you try to remake features from vice city? 
Like changing clothes, buying proprieties, saving game etc?

 

It will be nice to have peds and traffic aswell :)
And try to replace Los santos with this map.It will not be realistic if you will add it like an island near Los santos

I am deffinetly releasing VC next to V map though, don't get me wrong i'd love to but it was already confirmed that i'll be doing it like this at first at least.

Ocean View Hotel looks really nice. Clean, real and a great sunset view. Also, please release a version without the GTA V map. A standalone map of VC on GTA V Engine. I hope it won't be much trouble.

Mod changed to Vice V? This name reminds me of Vice IV. That was one of the first map mods for IV. This could be the first native map for GTA V (depending on whether or not it comes out before RDR V, GTA V LC, or some mystery project we don't know about.

 

Anyways keep up the good work. Can't wait to see more progress.

I like the name change. Does that mean you'll be doing a standalone release of VC on V now? I remember Vice IV. It had some really nice progress. Too bad shadow-link isn't active as he used to be.

Yes, the project took a U-turn from its original goal, i decided to stick to VC for some time.

I'm crashing

 

That is extremely odd. I'm not crashing. I didn't even touch my gameconfig and I got it loading with all of my add on cars, peds, props, weapons, and Online maps enabled. However I did a manual install. GTARandom didn't touch the gameconfig ether, and I am extremely surprised that there was nothing in there that needed to be touched. I'll tell ya, GTA V is very well coded. The only flaws with the code is server side on GTA Online, and a v sync issue where you need to alt tab out and back in every time you start GTA in order to get max FPS.

 

Anyways, here is how I installed the mod.

1. Extract the rpf files that are in the oiv file that came with the mod.

2. In the mods folder, put the "miami" folder in dlcpacks.

3. Add "<Item>dlcpacks:\miami\<\Item>" to the dlclist.

4. Put "gta5.meta" in "update.rpf\common\data\levels\gta5". You can find it in the common.rpf GTA Random provided.

5. Put playerinfo.ymt in "update.rpf\x64\data\tune". You can find it in x64a.rpf that GTA Random provided.

 

Also, here is the gameconfig I use. It is possible that a custom gameconfig is needed when using the Online map. GTA Random doesn't use the Online map, and I already had the gameconfig installed for my add ons.

Anyways, I know its an alpha but I'll give you a quick bug report.

-Diaz mansion "looking in through the door" fake interior and the "looking outside through the door/window" props are loading. I know that sounds confusing.

-South of the map, the whole map disappears. Is there some sort of boundary limit causing this? It isn't a big deal, but it makes it harder to land at the airport when approaching the city from the south.

-All of the collisions seem to be shifted east slightly. I can tell because I can slightly walk inside of walls on the west side of buildings, but I can't fully approach walls on the east side.

 

Regardless, great work. Once you are able to optimize the map so buildings not visible aren't rendered, or the player has a GTX 1080 TI, the FPS will improve.

Fixed my crash now, I have about 50 added peds so I had to adjust the "clothstore" pool in the gameconfig

because you have to load the online map with a trainer or a mod like OpenInteriors

 

VC is south east of Los Santos Int Airport.

Okay I figured I would post an example showing where exactly the collisions are placed relative to the map. This is everywhere in VC (except the Ocean View Hotel Interior). I have concluded that they are too far east, and slightly too far north. I chose a room that is lined up with latitude and longitude.

Last image should be a common thing around the map since 3D era collision is very "square" on almost all objects.

Actually someone explained it to me. Everything is placed correctly, but the pivot points on the models wasn't adjusted for GTA V. This is why they are off. They are correct on the props though. You can tell just by looking at how close to the curb lamp posts are.

VERY GREAT LOD CONVERSION, the render in RAGE makes it look beautiful! EVEN without the updated HD textures and buildings from VCR! GOOD WORK. Some people report COLS are off a smidgen for the entire map. I only report that stairways CANNOT be used to do STUNT JUMPS like DOWNTOWN/ GOLF COURSE at this point it TIME!XD Other than That? Im sure you have got the alpha textures rendered fixed. Just needs Emissive Shaders work for NIGHT/DAY. Maybe an UPDATED TIMECYCLE/VISUALS/WATER.meta? for the waves annoyance... Oh and Maybe Some XMLs. If SOMEONE wants to make some parked cars and peds walking Files from Menyoo script and or Map Editor? :)

 

But Im AMAZED at the passion you have! KEEP IT UP ALL INVOLVED!<3

I did have problems loading the game so i had to edit gameconfig, however when i ran the map as dlc, the crashes were gone and there was no need to touch it again.

 

For waves annoyance, press insert at the beginning of the game and they will calm and you'll be spawned in VC.

 

Parked cars and other improvements are scheduled for the next beta.
