Hope you're comfy, it's a long read! I've posted it here in the main Online section seeing as it is quite an interesting subject
The Mission Creator, a highly requested feature by many players yet we still are denied access to it for unknown reasons. It was once available to access via a glitch on PlayStation 3 and XBOX 360, however since then it has been fixed and cannot be accessed.
I have decided to compile this thread with detailed information that the mission creator contains/contained and how it differentiates from the other creators we currently have. Many say that Contact Missions require scripting, yes they do to a degree, but it is all done within the creator. So without further a do, I'll get cracking.
Most details are pretty much the same as the other creators, however there are a few additional options.
Title: The name of the Contact Mission.
Description: The contact missions description.
Photo: The photo for the mission.
Search Tags: Allows the job to appear on the Social Club if a word is searched.
Number of Players: Set the number of players that can participate in the mission. Unlike other creators (excluding races), the mission creator allows this option to be set to 1 player.
Team Details: This option is a little different than the other creators. In the mission creator, apart from having team respawn vehicles, teams are also able to have names, minimum amount of players per team as well as separate objectives and team vehicles.
Rank: An option that sets the required rank to be able to play the mission.
Number of Lives: Sets the number of lives. Can be set per player or per team.
Initial Points: Sets the amount of points per player or team when the mission launches.
Points per Kill: Sets the amount of points a team will receive for killing a player in an opposite team.
Points HUD: Allows the points to be either displayed or not during the mission.
Starting Inventory: Sets the weapons for each team or player at the start of a mission.
Mission Type: Sets the type of mission. A standard mission starts in the Trigger Corona and can be played anytime.
Contact Character SMS: Enables the contact character to send SMS to the player during the mission.
Mission Start Time: Sets the time the mission Trigger Corona becomes available.
Mission End Time: Sets the time the mission Trigger Corona disappears.
RP: Sets the amount of RP earned at the end of the mission. Default uses the formula: RP + (rank * 10) + RP (rank * number of enemies) + (Gang Chase Peds * rank). This formula may have possibly changed.
Cash: Sets the player cash earned at the end of the mission. This also may have changed.
Ambient Settings: Identical to the Capture ambient settings. Allows you to set the time, weather, zones, gangs, emergency services and wanted levels.
Like all creators, there is a placement menu. The mission creator has multiple additional options.
Place Trigger: Set the location of the Trigger Corona.
Start Point: Sets where each team will start when the mission begins.
Lobby Camera: Take a photo for the lobby.
Outro Camera: Places an optional Outro Camera location. Will only be functional if the player finishes near the camera.
Locations: The locations the player(s) will have to "go to" or "capture" to proceed with the mission.
Player Rule: Adds rules if the mission involves killing other teams players.
Weapons: Place weapons, health, armor and parachutes.
Actors: Almost identical to actors in the capture creator. However, in the mission creator, there are options that: allow you to set the players health by % (anything over 300% will not die instantly with a headshot). Set actor rules (meaning you can set if said actor must be killed, saved, or left alone). Set whether said actor follows you (friendly or hostile). Extended LOS, meaning actors will see you from long distances than usual (recommended for sniping). Unlike captures, the mission creator allows up to 30 actors to be placed.
Vehicles: The same as the other creators. Simply allows you to place vehicles.
Objects: Just like in the capture creator, however there are additional objects such as Drugs, packages etc. As well as this, objects can be set as "get and deliver" or "destroy" and can also have it's health set in %.
I managed to access it by mistake back on PlayStation 3, however for those who are interested, there is a video demonstrating the mission creator (the one I used as a reference for this thread).
If you watched the video, you may have noticed that some of the options were not showing up. This is unknown why, but probably had something to do with glitching into it.
I figured this would interest quite a lot of people, like I said, there are many who would like this creator officially released so I thought it'd be nice to show you.
Lastly, what are your thoughts? Would you like the mission creator to become available?
My fingers are aching!
EDIT: A few things I forgot to mention.
- The Mission Creator also had a "Doors" option, allowing you to select any door that isn't locked in GTA online and place a keypad. For example, Michael and Franklins' house would be inaccessible as they are locked online. However, a gate to a mansion online is unlocked therefore you would be able to place a keypad and lock it.
- You can place a Mission Start Zone, basically a place of importance during the mission. If a player starts the mission within the zone radius they will instantly be spawned at the first objective. A good example of this would be the contact mission "Stocks and Scares". 90% of the time you start this mission, you will spawn right near the first mission objective. This is because you were in the mission zone before loading it.
- The glitch that allowed you to access the Mission Creator also allowed you to access the creators for: Gang Attacks, Survivals, Vehicles Deathmatches and Parachuting jobs.
- Been doing a bit more observing on the mission creator and forgot to mention in the main post that there is also a photo option as a mission objective in the Placement menu.
This is basically where the player must take a picture of a certain area, actor or vehicle within a certain radius in order to progress with the mission. A few examples of this would be Lamar's Lowrider mission, Editor and Thief and Out of Court Settlement; all which require the player to photograph a specific actor/vehicle.
Also, by observing some of Rockstar's contact missions via the Social Club, there also appears to be alarms. I was looking at the props in Base Invaders and loads of alarms are placed. These are different alarms to the alarms we have for the Stunt Race Creator.
The keypads are labeled as Control Panel in the creator.
There are also unique crates labeled as Crates. So far I've only been able to see one labeled as Crate Normal, which is the money crates used during The Los Santos Connection.
The laptop used for hacking is simply labeled as Laptop.
The safe we can crack during certain missions is labeled as Safe.
