MISSION_CREATOR_HEADER.png

Hope you're comfy, it's a long read! I've posted it here in the main Online section seeing as it is quite an interesting subject :)

The Mission Creator, a highly requested feature by many players yet we still are denied access to it for unknown reasons. It was once available to access via a glitch on PlayStation 3 and XBOX 360, however since then it has been fixed and cannot be accessed.

I have decided to compile this thread with detailed information that the mission creator contains/contained and how it differentiates from the other creators we currently have. Many say that Contact Missions require scripting, yes they do to a degree, but it is all done within the creator. So without further a do, I'll get cracking.

UPDATE!!!

Check out the 2017 version of the Mission Creator on this post.

MISSION DETAILS

Most details are pretty much the same as the other creators, however there are a few additional options.

Title: The name of the Contact Mission.

Description: The contact missions description.

Photo: The photo for the mission.

Search Tags: Allows the job to appear on the Social Club if a word is searched.

Number of Players: Set the number of players that can participate in the mission. Unlike other creators (excluding races), the mission creator allows this option to be set to 1 player.

Team Details: This option is a little different than the other creators. In the mission creator, apart from having team respawn vehicles, teams are also able to have names, minimum amount of players per team as well as separate objectives and team vehicles.

Rank: An option that sets the required rank to be able to play the mission.

Number of Lives: Sets the number of lives. Can be set per player or per team.

Initial Points: Sets the amount of points per player or team when the mission launches.

Points per Kill: Sets the amount of points a team will receive for killing a player in an opposite team.

Points HUD: Allows the points to be either displayed or not during the mission.

Starting Inventory: Sets the weapons for each team or player at the start of a mission.

Mission Type: Sets the type of mission. A standard mission starts in the Trigger Corona and can be played anytime.

Contact Character SMS: Enables the contact character to send SMS to the player during the mission.

Mission Start Time: Sets the time the mission Trigger Corona becomes available.

Mission End Time: Sets the time the mission Trigger Corona disappears.

RP: Sets the amount of RP earned at the end of the mission. Default uses the formula: RP + (rank * 10) + RP (rank * number of enemies) + (Gang Chase Peds * rank). This formula may have possibly changed.

Cash: Sets the player cash earned at the end of the mission. This also may have changed.

Ambient Settings: Identical to the Capture ambient settings. Allows you to set the time, weather, zones, gangs, emergency services and wanted levels.

PLACEMENT

Like all creators, there is a placement menu. The mission creator has multiple additional options.

Place Trigger: Set the location of the Trigger Corona.

Start Point: Sets where each team will start when the mission begins.

Lobby Camera: Take a photo for the lobby.

Outro Camera: Places an optional Outro Camera location. Will only be functional if the player finishes near the camera.

Locations: The locations the player(s) will have to "go to" or "capture" to proceed with the mission.

Player Rule: Adds rules if the mission involves killing other teams players.

Weapons: Place weapons, health, armor and parachutes.

Actors: Almost identical to actors in the capture creator. However, in the mission creator, there are options that: allow you to set the players health by % (anything over 300% will not die instantly with a headshot). Set actor rules (meaning you can set if said actor must be killed, saved, or left alone). Set whether said actor follows you (friendly or hostile). Extended LOS, meaning actors will see you from long distances than usual (recommended for sniping). Unlike captures, the mission creator allows up to 30 actors to be placed.

Vehicles: The same as the other creators. Simply allows you to place vehicles.

Objects: Just like in the capture creator, however there are additional objects such as Drugs, packages etc. As well as this, objects can be set as "get and deliver" or "destroy" and can also have it's health set in %.

I managed to access it by mistake back on PlayStation 3, however for those who are interested, there is a video demonstrating the mission creator (the one I used as a reference for this thread).

If you watched the video, you may have noticed that some of the options were not showing up. This is unknown why, but probably had something to do with glitching into it.

I figured this would interest quite a lot of people, like I said, there are many who would like this creator officially released so I thought it'd be nice to show you.

Lastly, what are your thoughts? Would you like the mission creator to become available?

My fingers are aching!

EDIT: A few things I forgot to mention.

- The Mission Creator also had a "Doors" option, allowing you to select any door that isn't locked in GTA online and place a keypad. For example, Michael and Franklins' house would be inaccessible as they are locked online. However, a gate to a mansion online is unlocked therefore you would be able to place a keypad and lock it.

- You can place a Mission Start Zone, basically a place of importance during the mission. If a player starts the mission within the zone radius they will instantly be spawned at the first objective. A good example of this would be the contact mission "Stocks and Scares". 90% of the time you start this mission, you will spawn right near the first mission objective. This is because you were in the mission zone before loading it.

- The glitch that allowed you to access the Mission Creator also allowed you to access the creators for: Gang Attacks, Survivals, Vehicles Deathmatches and Parachuting jobs.

Been doing a bit more observing on the mission creator and forgot to mention in the main post that there is also a photo option as a mission objective in the Placement menu.

This is basically where the player must take a picture of a certain area, actor or vehicle within a certain radius in order to progress with the mission. A few examples of this would be Lamar's Lowrider mission, Editor and Thief and Out of Court Settlement; all which require the player to photograph a specific actor/vehicle.

Also, by observing some of Rockstar's contact missions via the Social Club, there also appears to be alarms. I was looking at the props in Base Invaders and loads of alarms are placed. These are different alarms to the alarms we have for the Stunt Race Creator.

The keypads are labeled as Control Panel in the creator.

There are also unique crates labeled as Crates. So far I've only been able to see one labeled as Crate Normal, which is the money crates used during The Los Santos Connection.

The laptop used for hacking is simply labeled as Laptop.

The safe we can crack during certain missions is labeled as Safe.

It would be game changing if they unlock it, but it would make their PVP efforts redundant. That's ok for me as I always prefered co op and missions are the best feature of this game imho.

Quite true, but then again there was something in the mission creator about teams killing teams. Kind of odd for a mission, but I suppose it's still PvP in a way.

This is great, REXX!  It would most definitely be a game changer for me as well; having something such as this would capture my attention for quite sometime.

I'd much rather see this released instead of more free roam oriented stuff.  Missions have been neglected for far too long; we need this to happen!

Would love to see that mission creator!

Though I'd like to have a few more options like:

-Make a multi-mission mission...kill guys here, chase guys, get a package, deliver it over there etc. etc.

-Set times in which a certain part has to be completed.....racing to a certain point, killing some guys before they flee etc. etc.

-Set specific vehicles that need to be used and the possibility to have a bomb in them that triggers when going too slow, set the time for that specific vehicle to get to a certain point, get it to the location with a max amount of damage ...stuff like that.

-For these mission vehicles have the option to place a modded vehicle.

-Set points that trigger a certain wanted level.

-Have all types of actors available like: Guards with a certain view for stealth operations, targets who need to be killed or bashed for intel, a fleeing guy that needs to be tailed etc. etc.

On the ps3 huh? Looks like you could make contact missions as well. If it's coming, it's probably the last big update.

TRIGGERED!!! There's nothing I want more in GTAO than the contact mission creator

I've made a couple really good missions IMO using a single player mod that unlocks the editor (PC). It's so freaking amazing it would totally change GTAO for me if they let us make contact missions... Couldn't care less about the payout.

Same here. I'm not really interested in the payout. I just want to put together some unique missions for myself and the community and play'em! Fingers crossed!

I'd almost bet that a mission creator DLC would be part or an endgame scenario. I mean, what better way to keep some creative life in the game when they no longer figure to add anymore themselves. Just give the players the ability to. 🤔

Now we got a job filter i could care less.

Matchmaking in this game is so horrible that i would not play missions more unless they buff payouts by 100 percent period but if they would ever give the mission creator to the public they probably also woud do a x2 event, which means playing the missions would be temporarly worth it and with the job filter i could skip on playing user created content since most of it would be garbage

I'm waiting for this since day 1. Good time to release this content, since CEO/MC/CARS give us so much money that's no problem earn 15-25k for 15 min in a custom mission.

Hey, who remembers that FOSV3/FOSV4 missions? great times

I'm tired of always being pitted against each other.

It always makes me smile when I cooperate with people and we end up running missions for hours with no deaths and at a break-neck pace.

Having contact missions made by the community who have nothing less but high imaginations, open up some of the buildings, look at all the locations and possible set ups, nothing could go wrong.

How these rumors are flying around that nothing else can be made as DLC is absurd. In my opinion, the game isn't even 50% completed in terms of what could possibly be looked at such as,

-Mansions, beach houses,

-Casino's, nightlife,

- . . . player created missions which would see increased focus on your game.

I dunno man. I'm no video game expert, but if they gave us a reason to stay invested, AAA game makers would be making hotcake money if they listened to the people or at least consider what's being discussed on this forum.

Then again, this forum isn't exactly the "community" at large.

Great find REXX.

Creating fetch-quest, survival or coop-type missions are a great idea. So great that there already is a mod for singleplayer. Well, sort-of.
While Adversary Modes are basically Team-v-Team, it would be great add cooperative missions and (possibly) make every vehicle available to use (one way to test them before buying them).

1st idea: 1-4 players; Get in the Armored Boxville and fend off infinite-spawning Zombie peds armed only with melee weapons; High Score or timed mission. "Survival of the Zombie apocalypse"
2nd idea: 1-4 players; Infiltrate the FOB building and recover some files for Lester. Stealth-based mission that parachutes you (and your team) on top of the FIB building. "Similar to The Bureau Raid with some stealth modifications"
3rd idea: 1-4 players; Steal super-cars and "race" them from point A to point B with Cops, Merryweather or Armed security after you.

And so on and so forth.

Great post Rexx, completely forgot about this until you mentioned it.

I doubt Rockstar will give this to us until the game is at it's last leg (like the last official DLC for a while), but who knows maybe Rockstar will surprise us. Either way this post makes me excited for the possibility it will be released thanks Rex!

Great post REXX. We need this, and I'd totally ok with non-verified missions being locked to only $1000 and 500RP payouts (because you know mf's are gonna just build a fence with 1000 clowns behind it and spawn you a mini gun and then sh*t posters are gonna spam $99999 99999RP videos). I quite enjoy P+PvE modes and can't remember the last time i did a contact mission. Aside from exploits, I'm wondering if Rockstar is hesitant on pulling the trigger on something like this because it might hinder micro-transactions...aka having fun

when it comes to mission creator , I'd say i would made one based off sniper elite

the enemies will become vigilant and overpowered if using anything other than sniper category ( except marksman pistol and musket )

nothing could go wrong.

Except the inevitable truckload of new missions titled $100k a minute Money glitch Mission that would be created.

In theory a mission creator sounds great but it would soon be ruined by the same people that caused R* to add a feature that allows you to not search for user created content from the quick job menu because 95% of what is made is complete and utter sh*t that is designed to just troll the player base.

Every creator is based of said "Mission Creator".

All creator scripts have the features of Mission Creator but restricted.

The mission creator have been updated with many new features thanks to new DLCs, such as a menu to load IPLs that allows you to load the Aircraft Carrier as part of your mission or the Super Galaxy Yacht or you could use a feature that set a city blackout.

Also the Mission creator have features designed for Adversary modes which is why I can't see it coming out to the public.

Of course a contact mission creator would be amazing. However, this violates R*'s stict 'no fun allowed' policy.

Seriously though, we ALL know the reason why it does not exist. Rockstar doesn't want people making easy missions they can grind to easily make cash, thus getting in the way of their shark card scam. Rockstar thinks we don't see this, but we do. We see clear as day what greedy f*cks they've become.

Now, buy another shark card and don't complain or I'll call you entitled.

tbh - I'd pay for it. Since I've started with GTA:O and finished all Contact Missions I wished there would be a creator to built more. So many ideas - so many fun. This could turn into inofficial heists, if the creator turns out well. I don't care the payout - I want to be creative and have fun.

I still regularly do mission runs, usually with like-minded friends, sometimes with randos. I still enjoy doing them, but it is not the same as that feeling of getting dropped blind into a new scenario with 3 good friends, and looking for the best ways to get through it.

I want the missiom creator soooooo bad. I have more than a few friends who would go balls to the wall crazy making missions all day. I would likely spend 50%+ of my time making and refining some and the other half playing my friends creations. The most beautiful part is that when you run out of ones you and your friends made, you could either search for new ones or just come to the inevitable and awesome thread, "Post Your Mission Creations" thread and grab a few.

I would be sooooo happy.

It's 3 years overdue. We need this to be enabled, we need more contact missions.

So payouts are low so the desire others have to play them may be low but let's be honest, we need fun stuff to do, fresh stuff to do, regardless of the mission payout.

And yes, there would be a million and one "$1,000,000 999,999,999 RP" missions out there but we found the good LTS, we found the good races, we will find the good contact missions.

I welcome the day (if it ever comes) that this is enabled. I have so many ideas, the creator alone would keep me busy for weeks - hell I'd even pay to unlock it! Since the original GTA and finding that it was easy to mod the files I've been throwing missions out there and thinking up mission ideas, not so much in the 3D/HD universes due to being a console player now but the ideas never stopped. Rockstar need to give me my stage to perform on.

Yet they let you make easy stunt races which practically make your car move while AFK. You can already AFK while making money... hell, this is easier in Freemode, simply sit along side your CEO watching TV, if you and your CEO are any good you'll have a 100% wage bonus that nets $10k every 12 minutes or so.

Great OP.

Mission creator is the what GTAO needs more than anything, that and serious attention back on the games core game modes, of contact missions, Survivals, TDMS and standard racing.

Mission creator

Survival creator

overhaul and update of the TDM creator

It will never happen, for missions have too many variables and cut scenes that are beyond the content creator's capabilities.

you dont need cut scenes for Missions, they can just end like any tdm or survival

Have to remember that some (well, quite a few) options weren't visible within the creator for unknown reasons. One of these could have been for the Cutscenes depending on the type of mission set. Cutscenes are random and not all missions have Cutscenes. Mainly Trigger Corona based missions don't have Cutscenes upon completing, however there are even Lester and Madrazo missions that have no Cutscenes.

Also you can just use the same cutscene for each contact that we already have, you would only need a cut scene for new contacts. Or like i said, just let us make up contacts and instructions and have them come through as text messages or onscreen commands on players phones.

Not really, they usually only fall into a few categories - Rescue, Kill, Fetch, Destroy, or a combination. You don't need cut-scenes for them to work, and as somebody said above, you can easily give players instructions during them by use of character SMS.

Create-A-Mission is easily viable.
