So I'm interested in buying a laptop for gaming as I travel because of my job.

I was looking at these recommended from Reddit

But I need help which one will be worth and future proof like I don't have to drop another 1k next year.

My budget is 1,325 I can put $200 more in it if I have to.
Basically I want to run fallout 4 skyrim se resi 7 mass effect 4 and future games.

I'm open to suggestions from other laptops

Of these, the Clevo has the better specs. My laptop, which I bought in 2013, had a GTX 660. It was quite good and could play Fallout 4 (on low-medium) without many issues.

So if you can, I'd say save up for the laptop with a 1070.

So something like this:

https://www.amazon.c...1&keywords=1070

Could be more reliable. (My laptop is an Asus as well. Has been very reliable despite being nearly 4 years old now, and travelled across the world with me.)

Tchuck's recommendation would be ideal. That laptop has a G-sync panel (which I didn't even know they had for laptops) and a GTX 1070 which should perform pretty much on par with the desktop variant. CPU seems weird though given the clock speeds but you can't expect desktop level performance in a laptop. Not really.

Ok and the clevo?

I'm stuck between the two.

One has a touch screen which liked from my old pc and the other has a back lit keyboard with colors and other one doesn't.

Clevo Has 8 gigs of ram the other one has 16 ram.

Clevo has no os so u have to buy one. Rog has one

The ASUS one has 16 GB of RAM which is pretty much a must for the latest games. Plus it also comes with an SSD which will improve your PC's performance quite a bit (especially for daily usage). Buy whichever you can afford.

How about this one? It's just one dollar more.

If money was no object I'd go for the ROG too in fairness, plus when you have that much power you usually sacrifice style but as previously said, they ooze sex appeal (please note this doesn't mean it attracts women, opposite usually  )

As we are on GTA Forums, TechRadar GL502 review benchmarked GTA5 on 1080p (ultra) at 29fps and 1080p (low) at 131fps. Hope it helps.

(15" is too small for 1080p for me. My research is about 17 inch versions with this performance.)

If it was me I'd prefer 15 or smaller in truth. 17 is too bulky and heavy to carry around personally. But that's just my opinion.

you are quoting it wrong, that is for the version that comes with the gtx 970m.

the gtx1070 can push above 60fps with everything maxed out (x8Msaa) at 1080p

I'm a little late to point this out, but about that Cleve laptop you mentioned the fact of not coming with an OS, if you wanted to cut expenses on a key and didn't want to resort to those shady websites that sell keys at lower prices, you could either make it dual boot with SteamOS and a Linux distro of your choice, or just run the unlicensed version of Windows 10 that actually has no limitations besides reminding you from times to times to license it.

But well, I guess it wouldn't be that much of a deal to get a license, but it's always worth to point these alternatives out.

I don't think that's in his budget, none the less that's insane!

I don't think that's in anyone's budget, unless you're so rich you don't even care or like Linus you can get stuff like that for free to review.

I'm pretty sure she already made her choice by now, though. However, I fail to see your point, any modern title will require about the same specs. Nobody comes to ask for a "gaming pc" having in mind 10 year-old games or Minesweeper, I mean...

For playing decent games right now we actually need some good specs. He would find some good choices for 1000 dollars with I5 or I7 and GTX 1050, but it would be bad for future since it is not upgradable. Better to raise a bet and it will last longer. This is the main reason why i keep away from a gaming laptop. My friends has gaming laptop and he need to buy new one every 3 years. I keep ask him to look for a PC, but he said that it is not efficient.
