I try to launch GTA IV on steam and I keep getting the old log in screen. I usually keep the retail version installed also for older patches and offline but I did update it when patch 1.0.8.0 was released. Since then the steam version is stuck on the older 1.0.7.0 update. I deleted the retail version to see if it's fixed but it didn't work. The setting "always update the game" is checked...

Any ideas?

ps.. Another question. Are the multiplayer servers same for Steam and retail version? If not which one has the most players?

Download patch and update manually.

You'll be better off with 1.0.7.0 , just in case you decide to use mods
