I have recently updated my server (ubuntu16.04 apache2, mysql) php5.6 got replaced by php7.

Since then everything on the server if I run Apache or Nginx is forbidden, 403 or 404 error depending on the pages accessed. I do host a lot of files (mods for SOL mainly and files for other modders) as this is much cheaper. links to these are also (shown in the browser) as forbidden. unless I use Lighttpd where these files can be accessible. but anything php or html comes up as a blank page.??

Any ideas besides downgrading php7?

Has apache/nginx got permissions to access the files?

Did you check the apache/nginx log file?

Yeah, this sounds like configuration issue, rather than an actual PHP incompatibility. So I'd fix that first. If PHP was failing to run your scripts, you'd be getting some sort of errors from PHP instead of server error messages or blank pages.

Yep sounds like apache and/or nginx are not configured correctly for php...
