Please post your favourite intrumental piece. Age is irrelevant as are the intruments used and purpose of the composition. Include anything except synthwave pieces (there is already a thread for those). Post any instrumental or orchestral composition as long as it is one you like and is entirely instrumental (no spoken word. Background chanting/harmonies/humming is fine). Early synth (no later than 1989) is acceptable as long as it has no spoken word.

I really like this tune from Space, that French electronic band which made a LOT of songs back in the 70's, instrumental or not, they're pretty popular where I live.

It starts out a bit... trying - first ten seconds or so. But get to the meat and you will have your head filled with THE RIFFS.

Made this nearly a year ago after a really tough breakup and getting fired from my job. It usually goes past most people, but a there are a few folks I know who also are struggling with depression and tough times that can't stop listening to it and keep telling me that it's amazing. Hope you guys enjoy.

It's impossible for me to choose one favorite instrumental piece. So I'll just share a piece I will be playing this Christmas season. Holiday Portraits is a Christmas composition that takes different familiar holiday melodies and gives each a different color based on various composers, including Tchaikovsky (my favorite!), Bernstein, Bartok, and several others.

This is the soundtrack from the first F&F movie. I know it's not a great movie, but I think this is a beautiful piece of music by Brian Transeau (very underrated actually).

Can't say I can think of instrumental music without thinking of Steve Vai, so I guess it only makes sense to post something of his.

You can't talk about instrumental music without mentioning Buckethead. In short, the man is completely hatstand. His output is so vast it's overwhelming. He's released over 250 albums over 5 years and he has an extensive back catalog prior to that which spans 20 years or so. He was actually the lead guitarist for GNR for a time, but for some reason or another he simply dissolved. From rock, to metal, funk, dark ambient, there's a bit of everything if you listen to the right album. I've been a huge fan for about ten years so if anybody is interested, drop me a PM and I'll give you some recommendations based on what you'd like to hear. There's honestly too much to go into. Here's one of his softer songs.

Mars from gustav holst but honetsly when you mean humming and chanting. Its called Gregorian chants and they can be defined as monophonic or polyphonic (one voice or multiple voices). Sorry i went to school for music and had to take alotof music history classes as well as theory.
