What exactly is heat haze?

I first read about heat haze effect in update 1,01 FAQ, It was supposedly not supported by ATI 4xxx cards, meaning that for anyone with ATI 4xxx card, heat haze effect is unavailable by default. And some people want to disable it.

 

What the hell is heat haze effect anyway? How can I tell when it's enabled/disabled?

Just like in real life, the heat on the pavement or desert areas have a Blury consititution at the ground level.

Fuzzy visual effect  above the heated surface.

You must live in a cold climate, heat haze is the wavy, blurry effect of heat in the air at a distance:

I can be disable using any ENB mods. Heat hazes also reduces FPS though.

Reduced performance shouldn't be a problem anymore, unless you have a 10 tear old PC.
