I will play it on a regular PS4. I don't care about the little extra performance or pixels that the PS4 Pro might offer simply because it's really hard and negligible to notice these small extra details while playing, especially for someone like me who barely plays anything outside of Rockstar's creation.

100% same here, except that I'll be doing it on a regular XB1. (Red Dead being backwards compatible made me switch from Playstation by the way, haha.)

I will be playing on it Xbox One, possibly a Scorpio depending on price and availability at launch. I will probably buy it for PS4 as well so I can play online with my PS4 friends. How I long for the day that true cross platform multiplayer becomes standard. :(

PS4 Pro. 'Bout time I switch from Microsoft to Sony.

Edit: See what I did there? Switch. Nintendo Switch...:)

No? F*ck you.

Too many cheaters in online games on PC.

I am assuming it will have an online version similar to GTAO.

PS4 Pro. I'd imagine that if any developer would get the most out of the extra power, like Guerilla did for Horizon, then I'd imagine Rockstar would.

Hopefully on the Xbox Scorpio.

Gonna buy it on Scorpio. The definitive version until the inevitable PC version.

xbox one scorpio

Correct me if I'm wrong but it's not even sure if we'll see a Scorpio version at some point. It feels like people (not you guys in particular but on other forums and social media sites) often expect to play the game together with the launch of the console or early/sometime next year (or at least before the not so unlikely PC release). The Scorpio isn't just an upgrade like the PS4 Pro. The Scorpio would need it's own version of RDR2, similar to PC. That being said I think people will have to wait for RDR2 on Scorpio for a while. A release together with the PC version would make sense i guess.

Nah Microsoft have reiterated recently I believe that the Scorpio will be Microsoft's equivalent to the PS4 Pro, a increment system to be a Xbox One.5 rather than an all new Xbox. There won't be exclusive Scorpio titles and as such you won't need to buy 2 Xbox copies of RDR2.

Hmm indeed. Just read an article about it. Really thought the Scorpio would have it's own games. That's good for the Xbox community. But now I'm not sure if so many Teraflops make sense, given that the console will just be another upgrade. Well, E3 will tell I guess.

Just think of it like the PC, you go from high to max settings for the Pro and Scorpio compared to the base PS4 and Xbox one. Lol

Dammit, I guess I'll have to get it on XBO. I'm really hoping it's released on the PC, though.

Since I can't afford a PS4 anytime soon, I'll wait for a PC release. Without a PC release, I'll be forced to ditch the RDR franchise and wait 10 years to buy a refurbished PS4.

Probably on my PS4. I'd buy a Pro but it seems like a half-step to me so I probably won't bother.

Gonna be totally pissed if it isn't going to get a PC release...
I already missed Red Dead Redemption because it got only released for consoles.

I bet you, pc version will be released 1.5 years later again. If at all. Thank god i'm not too interested in this game..Hopefully gtao dlcs won't suffer from this game.

honestly, i don't understand the hype for this game. Watched gameplay of rdr and it was..mehish.. I'd be much, MUCH happier about a new midnight club game. I wish i could play MC:LA, which seems to be a really good game but stupid console exlusives are a thing. :(

If anything i hope they stop making DLC for GTA O. We need a brand new GTA. Every dlc feels the same because te game is simply old and outdated. I still play it every once in a while, but seriously, its an old 2013 game.

Now i won't buy this game. It looks pretty fun to me if you are into cowboys, horses and shooting. However i'm always a car/bike guy and will simply wait for the next GTA. Some people buy GTA to play shoot em up online, those people will most likely go to RDR2. I'm the kind of guy that likes to fool around online minding my own stuff, bashing around with cars.

That being said, i hope people enjoy this game, and that R* will now focus on the next GTA.

And about PC people, i'm sure R* will release it on PC in the future. Because nothings more then a bunch of modders grieving people into full rage mode by setting them on fire, rapid explosion, adding objects to their character or simply teleporting them into oblivion or whatever they feel like.

You have no idea how pc is like, so please, shut up.

Maybe you'd enjoy this game more, if all your accounts weren't full of cheated cash, just a little thought :)

I would say he hit the nail on the head with what PC is like. Hell I can't get into a actual online game other than solo without some kind of hacker/modder on GTA. With that said though if it comes out for pc i will get it for both my ps4 pro and PC

I know this is a bit off-topic so I'll apologize in advance but I'm hoping y'all won't mind me asking this here seeing as how we don't really have much to talk about atm.

I've come to value yalls opinions over the past year or so, so I figured since I'm having trouble deciding on this id ask some of you for your thoughts.

I'm an Xbox one owner I've had it since launch but ive always wanted to own a ps4 as well but never really went out of my way to buy one. I've always played on PlayStation in the past but this gen my sister bought an Xbox one so I did as well so we could play together,

So my question I guess is this: I got some money as a Christmas gift this year which I could use to pay for a ps4 and with all the exclusives coming in 2018 like TLOU2, Days gone and spider man not to mention whatever deal PlayStation has for rdr2 I'm seriously debating it, but I guess I need a little more convincing to spend the money. Do you guys think it'd be worth the purchase? Have any of you played both the ps4 and Xbox one if so which do you prefer and why? Also what games/ exclusives would you recommend?

It seems that the ps4 is the much preferred console this generation. What are the reasons for that?

Again, sorry for the off topic post. But I appreciate the help.

If you seem to value exclusives and enjoy single player experiences, i would recommend the PS4 bro. The 2018 exclusives lineup is a must play for me at least. Microsoft exclusives (right now) dont appeal to me at all, and i have owned a Xbox ons for 2 1/2 years and only use it to play RDR from time to time. At the end of the day it's up to what you value more, GAMES or specs? Do you say f*ck it, exclusives dont matter? Or is Multiplayer service games your thing and you will wait to see what Microsoft comes out with Exclusive wise. What experiences mean more to you?

I mean it's all down to personal preference and the games. Also, if you're going to hit up multiplayer then what system are your friends on?

Yes base specs the PS4 is the better system and obviously if you're looking at the system then the Pro will be the one to get regardless if your own a 4K set up or not. There are a lot of great exclusives from a wide range of genres on Ps4 from God of War, Days Gone, The Last of Us, Spider-Man etc coming as well as those already released.

Dude, you don't have to apologize at all. This isn't bullsh*t so your question is totally legit. As you know, there have been topics that were a thousand times less important than that.

To your question: I bought an Xbox One X just for RDR 2, just because I've always been an "Xbox kid" since the first xbox. But if you want to play the mentioned games plus RDR 2 yourself (and not just watch playthroughs on YT as i do for PS-exclusive games), a PS 4 makes the most sense.

Excellent backlog which in my opinion blows Xbox out of the water (ex: Horizon Zero Dawn, Bloodborne, Uncharted series, The Last of Us, just to name a few), insane 2018 exclusive lineup, bigger community, more bonuses on multiplats, better UI (general consensus) and it can be cheaper depending on the situation.

PS4 is a smart purchase if you ask me, these exclusive games are incredible (well, if you like story focused ganes) and also 2018 line up, then depends if you are PC gamer too, like I used to be  cause for pc players there is absolutely no reason to buy xbox then i became just PS player because i met a lot of great people through this console. aaand the last of us 2 isn´t coming 2018 boy...

Exclusives have helped keep the PS4 in front but what won Sony this generation was that Microsoft completely and utterly bollocked it right up. It's a perfect example of how to not listen to your customers, target one specific audience (the US) and undo all the great work you did in the years before. They fudged it up that bad that Sony built a huge part of their PR machine on the back of their failings and it resulted in the PS4 running away with it for the first year or so, until Phil Spencer came along and quite literally threw the rubbish out of the box and that allowed the Xbox brand and console to make a come back. Next generation will likely be far closer especially because Sony tend to do silly things when they've won the previous generation.

Just a heads up, enhancement patches might only arrive with the pc version, they usually have tight schedules and I don't see them having a full enhancement patch for both the Pro and the X due for spring release too

Why? There were dev kits for those enhanced consoles much before their release, and RDR2 was already in development by then. I'm almost sure we'll be getting all versions at launch. It's gonna be backwards, in fact, developing for the enhanced consoles will probably make PC development easier.

I may have exaggerated with them being released with the PC port because I do feel that that's gonna happen a little later down the line, but again, I'm still skeptical about them being available on day one, the game has already been delayed once, therefore, the game itself being incomplete makes me think that those patches might arrive later, besides, releasing them along with the PC version also gives them more time to squeeze all of the juice out of the new consoles. But you know, may be you're right I don't know, we'll see, them being released on day one would definitely be a pleasant surprise.

The game could be delayed due to other non-technical reasons though. Most recent games have come with support at release, I don't think it's gonna be any different with R*. Not to mention because of their deal with Sony, I'm almost sure they're gonna want R* to show it off on PS4 Pro in all its glory.
