I can't count how many times I've been on a thread and I've seen a once respected member all of a sudden get a busted tag under their names. It would help if there was just a small 1 sentence explanation to fulfill that curiosity on what they did wrong. I've seen multiple other forums do something like this and I think it would be more convenient then waiting for that golden opportunity to ask on a thread "What ever happened to ___?"

Just a small cool thing to add.

A staff member is gonna tell you it's unnecessary and that it's none of our business. I don't particularly agree with having this feature though tbh

It has been asked a number of times, but the answer has always remains the same i.e its none of members concern as to why someone got banned. You can read some recent threads on here and here related to this.

@ Al: That staff member being Raavi almost everytime.

There's absolutely no good reason for members to know why other members have been banned. As has already been noted, it's none if their business and usually involves content that normal members won't be able to see anyway.

I understand the curiosity, but publicly announcing justification just gives other people an opportunity to nit-pick or question motives.

If you are that concerned about reasons for banning, go do some digging in the other threads, you'll usually find clues as to the reasons for the bans, even if the actual threads that caused it end up hidden by the staff.

It is all there to see, just spend the time doing the digging.

It's pretty obvious how not to get banned here.... anyone who needs an "example" is probably going to get banned eventually anyway.

I just wish you could see their profile and be able to go through a banned user's posts to see what could have led up to them being banned, like it was before the big forum update.

IPB4 works on a different way, not sure how we'll set it up yet.
