not even close to a full list, I dont have one, but to get a full list you need to extract all the names from the all the .ypt files

He just told you you can find it in the file where he specified.... what is the point of doing that?

Some people in this forum act as if everyone have to install and use Open IV, c'mon guys, help a friend in need is something nice to do. We are modders and we should support each other, why have to think too much before helping - I mean the list cost like 0$ but it saves a lot of guys out here from looking for it.

Anyway, A friend of mine has pasted a Fx list on pastebin, but it's not completed though, still miss a lot.:

OpenIV takes 60 mb. If your computer cant handle 60 mb, God help you.

No, but seriously, you are refusing to help yourself by a stupid C drive excuse? It takes 60 MB!

Also, OpenIV is a must in GTA 5 modding. How can someone make mods for GTA 5, and not have it? That is ridiculous!

Sorry if I am wrong, but isnt the appdata folder in C drive?

 

Yes appdata belongs on the C drive. but you could create a small partition on another drive and map it to $userprofile%\AppData\Local\New Technology Studio

Lovono AHK1221 is ri8. . . .dude 60mb is not a bid deal u can simply clean some disk space. . . .its not difficult to delete one or two files which u really don't need,openiv is really important tool and must recommended for modders

Look, I can't install OpenIV, if you guys don't pasted the fx list, why not just leave, I'll wait someone care who can paste the list. I know Open IV is a good software but not only it requires C drive, it requires update to use, I mean I mostly working offline, but when OpenIV found an update - it won't let me use until I connect to the internet to update it - but why do I have to tell you guy reasons why I can't use OpenIV while you guy don't wanna help.

Dude thats an rude behaviour. . . we guys are here to help,and if someone is suggesting something then that means something because maybe it is important,we are not doing publicity of openiv its just an important tool which makes ur work easier, and for ur info what u told about openiv that it doesnt allow u to use it until and unless u update it thats not true,dude even i work offline because my internet completely sucks it is damn slow thats why i browse with my phone and whatever i need i download in my cell and use it in my pc, i rarely connect to internet in my pc,update openiv but then also i am able to use. . . .and if u dont want to update it then dont connect it to internet, and dude please show some respect to other modders

Nope. It can NEVER ask for updates if you dont have internet connected. I know this from experience. That is what I do, if it asks for updates, I disable internet and boom, it works.

Here is a dump of every particle that is loaded into the game by default: http://camx.me/gtav/ptxfx/ptfx.txt. Keep in mind this only includes particles from the "core" fx asset and nothing from the scripts/ missions.

I want to know this too! Been trying to find the small scraping/spark effect that happens when driving against a wall or other vehicles. There is a similar but bigger effect that happens when you make a large impact but it doesn't look good for what I'm trying to do.

Dope, I found these too by using notepad/hex editor on the file from OpenIV. Do you know how to appropriately call these? Would it just be "core" for requesting? I haven't had luck with any of the game's core PTFX, only from the missions.

 

 

 

I managed to get a few ones working with this code

Function.Call(Hash.REQUEST_NAMED_PTFX_ASSET, "core");
Function.Call(Hash._SET_PTFX_ASSET_NEXT_CALL, "core");
Function.Call(Hash.START_PARTICLE_FX_LOOPED_ON_ENTITY, "ent_amb_moths_swarm", Game.Player.Character, 0.0, 0.0, -0.5, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0, false, false, false);

And then easily stopped with

Function.Call(Hash.REMOVE_PARTICLE_FX_FROM_ENTITY, Game.Player.Character);

I am able to spawn most core particles, but a very few of the other PTFX will load. For instance I can load the "scr_alien_teleport" effect, but nothing else in the "scr_rcbarry1" group will spawn.

You can try with the code I posted above, try finding a smoke trail particle that would load, the PTFX plays on the entity at all times, smoke trails are generally smoke particles repeatedly spammed on the entity so it would work fine... assuming the RPG round you speak of is manually spawned in your code.

Ok, so I have tried OpenIV, but I can only get ptfx Asset name

I have tried to open ypt file as default, text, hex. But nothing actually gives me any useful information.

With only the ptfx Asset name, I can't do anything.

How can I get the actual ptfx name?

I have even opened an ypt with this tool, then I realize it's just texture, not the fx name to query in code. (maybe this tool ignore everything other than texture, I also use Notepad++ to check the text of these ypt file, but still no luck)

For example, in the file "scr_amb_chop", I expect to find the name "ent_anim_dog_poo", but I didn't see that.

 

Any idea?
