What he's trying to say is ... "slow down slick".

Anyway, I choose Vice City. You can't ignore neon lights and beaches and drugs and so much more.

If anyone prefers VC or LC here, just let everyone know that you are prefering the Vice City of GTA VC/VCS or Liberty City of GTA III/LCS. I request everyone to obey this rule. Many people just write VC. But no name of the games. There's hell and heaven difference between the Vice City of GTA VC and Vice City of GTA VCS. Same thing goes with LC. I hope you understand, Friends.

Alright for me I think las ventarus is the best, because of all the casinos.

Liberty city was a good city and all, but you really can't interact with it much. Shoreside vale is only that big, because of the airport. If you take out the airport in shoreside vale you'll see that shoreside vale is pretty small. I also don't like how it doesn't have an actual highway system.

Vice city has that 80's miami feeling that a lot of people like. The whole reason why people liked vice city was, because of the 80's and if you set vice city out of the 80's the city would feel odd. Anyways vice city feels too small for me to be honest with you I just wish it was bigger. In vice city you could interact with the city so thats a plus, but I honestly wish vice city was bigger. It also doesn't have a highway system, but I still like vice city anyways. (Vice city also doesn't have an actual subway system/ train system, but I don't really give a sh*t.)

Here is a map of all of them being compared.

San+andreas+compared+to+gta+1+2+iii+vc+i

Photos of the downtown parts of the city.(Las ventarus doesn't have downtown, but bedford point in liberty city feels like downtown to me so I'll put it there)

Spoiler

So which city do you guys like best ? Also explain why you like it too.

Also fun fact: Did you know that the top part of shoreside vale you can't actually go to ?

I picked Liberty City because it has his own charm, the fact that is a tailor made map makes it really special to me, Las Venturas and Vice are close.

Not really, is just a city. Miami looks even cooler now.

San Fierro is my favorite of all. Unfortunately it was poorly portrayed in GTA SA, and underrated but it's still lovely.

Vice City with Liberty City second and Las Venturas third.

San Fierro's boring and I'm not a fan of L.A as a setting so I don't particularly care much for Los Santos in its 3D rendition (or HD for that matter).

LS is nice and diverse, it feels like a real city despite the graphics. LC and SF are also cool but they just couldn't be made as good in that engine as they would need. LV and VC even less so.

Even though I'm against game devs just rehashing the old stuff, I'd like to see LV in HD. VC already kinda got a HD remake in GTA V (that's how the environment feels to me anyway), but LV's pyramids and flashy neons and casinos... Yea that could look cool.

BTW what I dislike about all the 3D era games/cities is the lack of ambient sounds and how peds animations look. They really could have done a better job with those even at the time.

Alright for me I think las ventarus is the best, because of all the casinos.

You spelled it ventaras in your last poll IIRC. Maybe third time is the charm?

Los Santos

Absolute CLASSIC

Las Venturas would be the #2. They actually did a great job capturing the real Las Vegas vibe/atmosphere.

Vice City takes the first spot without shadow of a doubt, especially if we put the VCS into the equation (it's 3D era after all). Iconic city covered with neons and full of various references to Miami Vice, Scarface or flashy '80s culture. It's absolute classic for me, in which I spent countless hours and I will very likely spend many more.

Second place goes to Liberty City - great place to leave. The whole atmosphere makes it unforgettable and fantastic place and there is also a lot of variety in the sceneries (from mountainous Shoreside Vale to flat and dirty Portland).

Third place goes very likely to Las Venturas. I like San Fierro, but it's far from perfect, as it's small, cramped and lack details - like a place made out of cardboard boxes. Los Santos was good, but I can't get the feeling that whole power went to the south central ghettos, turning the Vinewood, Downtown and neighbourhoods into unwanted child. Nothing is happening there, most of the missions are set in Ballas, Vagos and Families controlled areas, and the other zones were just there for the sake of being. Las Venturas on other hand seems planned nice enough, as we have buzzing Strip and quiet suburb areas, small local industries and college. A bit of everything for everyone.

In 3D era? I'd vote for Vice City.

Its not just the 80's feeling, i loved the lights, the clubs, and that lighthouse at the beach.

The mall, the arena, the army base, the golf club, everything!

although gta 3 was the game that introduced gta to 3d open world gaming my vote goes to vice  city as being the  first gta to have a detailed world for many of the reasons posted before me and also a better gameplay , aiming variety in weapons, vehicles side activies, nightlife, etc.

Are people insane?!
This topic is asking you about your favorite 3D universe CITY, not your favorite game.
It's Liberty City vs Vice City then, for example, and not GTA 3 vs GTA Vice City. So the gameplay and aiming and driving, etc. doesn't have anything to do with it.

LCS' version of Liberty City, mostly for the low-key and cool fall time atmosphere, and the intact ferry service. To be honest i don't remember any other differences from III's city (except for Ft. Staunton, but i didn't care much about that neighborhood.)

Maybe San Fierro. Maybe not, since it's personally a bit depressing for me to visit, but looking at it without personal bias: it was the most awe-full of any of the 3D era cities.

I really loved them all. I mean between III's Liberty and Vice City, one was more flat and didn't have much variation but VC had more interiors and the bright colours added a new flavour. Liberty was more gritty and had that city metropolis feel at times that Vice City lacked. Los Santos had amazing variety, huge airport, the area, Ganton/the hood, the edge of countryside, docks, train-tracks, tunnels, hills and skyscraper to base-jump off. It also had that spaghetti junction. I see a screenshot of that spaghetti junction in a free magazine from the video rental store and I nearly creamed myself.

In terms of danger (gang wars) and one of the best homes (Grove St) coupled with the huge airport and skyscraper to base-jump off with the spaghetti junction and activities (gang tags) and pimping missions, I might give it to Los Santos.

I love San Fierro too, that might be close second or Vice City at the time.

Vice city VCS version. Despite having only an initial one year development time, it's still a great city with a great atmosphere. However the short development time comes at a price, the city lacks fine details unlike San Andreas and Liberty City. Vice City is also the only city that doesn't have a country side. I would love to see that.

Liberty City comes at an extremely close second. I like amount of detail and diversity put into the map but it's too small for it's own good. Just look at Belleville park, the size of it is laughable.

Los Santos and Las Venturas come at a close third. They capture their real life counterparts perfectly and is filled with details too but I think it copied off too much from its real life counterparts too much and ended up being less fun to explore in a way...

San Fierro is a great City nonetheless but it's pretty much bland compared to the other cities.

I really enjoyed Vice City in 1984 (GTA Vice City Stories). From the Trailer Park of Marty Jay Williams to the Chunder Wheel Ferris Wheel in Vice Point. Do I even HAVE to mention the V-Rock Radio Station with the vintage 1980s Rocker, Cousin Ed with his awesome and rebel behavior.

Vice City! I really liked the other cities, but VC stands out head and shoulders above the rest for me. Despite its small size (and that giant beach you couldn't really do much with), they made great use of such a small space with lots of fun things to see and do, as well as some great interiors (I love just hanging around at the mall and listening to the muzak) and stores (tool shops really need to make a return to the series). Not to mention that they just completely nailed that 1980s Miami/beach city atmosphere in general. We used to go to Myrtle Beach for vacation all the time, and tooling around VC brings back a lot of happy memories of those times.

As for which version of Vice City? The original for me. I really liked the neon that VCS had, but I dunno, the original Vice City just had "that thing, that magic".
