Discuss anything related to hard rock music, which means music that's hard-hitting but isn't quite metal. It can anything from the '70s to today, from famous to the lesser-known, show us your favorite hard rock tracks. Made this because there wasn't a thread like it, and the metal thread is too extreme to cover the topic.

So what kind of hard rock have you been listening to lately? Recently I just got into The Sword, who are a sort of "retro rock" band from Texas. They basically play music from the '70s into today.

One of the best albums by one of the best bands ever. I'm guessing it falls into the Hard Rock category.

Ehh... Not into hard rock all that much, at least not the type that the OP wants posting in here (hard rock, but not so hard that it's metal). Quite a tall order for me, most of the hard rock stuff I listen to is in that awkward area where it gets both the hard rock and the heavy metal tag because hard rock is such a loose tag.

I presume this is more of a hard rock/'light' metal thread rather than just pure hard rock.

Anyway, I'll just stick something on the pure side of hard rock for the time being.

I only specified that because despite metal encompassing a wide variety of genres and styles, 99% of the metal topic is extreme brutal underground death/thrash. I wanted something less extreme to be shared. Overlap with metal is allowed, as long as it's not extreme metal.

Bump...

Recent find, and I decided to make it the SotD for day #13. Quite surprised this song escaped the whole metal tag, especially with that intro. It also seems to give of a sort of late 90's, early 00's vibe.

I can only imagine what Bon Jovi would've turned out to be if Richie was the lead singer. (Thumbnail seems to be screwed, but the video should play)

One day, some time in the future, this thread won't suffer from long periods of nothingness.

One of my favorites, Michael Schenker did an amazing job on the guitar here:

Very underrated song with an equally impressive guitar solo:

Although I'm more into Heavy Metal (Traditional/NWOBHM stuff), I do listen to Hard Rock occasionally, mainly from the 70's/80's.

I have a playlist on Spotify for MC, this is one of my favorite tracks.

Edit: The first MC song I heard was Girls Girls Girls, it appeared the movie The Indian in the Cupboard

I'll spice things up a bit...

Not the greatest quality, but probably the only public footage out there showing Randy playing the first part of the solo for Crazy Train.

May as well throw this in here too
