I've said this before but access to all if not most interiors is the next logical step for GTA to take to move forward as a series overall, that and a NEW location.

That's not really possible or even interesting, if we get a gta where you can enter ALL buildings it would be the same generic repeated interiors with nothing inside X100, i don't think people who say this have an idea of how videogame resources work. This mindset reminds me to the guys behind True Crime: Streets of New York, city is HUUUGEEE (Practically a GPS of Manhattan) and there's a lot of interiors, but the map is glitchy as hell and is awfully repetitive (every street looks the exact same) to the point is a diservice to the overall game, a smaller map would had done just fine but they went overboard with his vision.

I agree some ambition is good and more interiors would be a step in the right direction, but the idea of a GTA city with every interior open is just ridiculous.

I just need a big shopping mall with breakable windows and a fancy casino in the next gta. Then i'll be happy.

From purely quality over quantity argument, well designed, lesser but quite bigger with a lot of areas covered as a network of very detailed and highly interactive interiors to explore like a secret thieves guild hidden from public view as seen in Gothic 2, bigger malls with different stores, even interiors as seen in Hitman Contracts with not just simple entry and exit points but are quite larger in size with various people and stuff going on inside.
I'm frankly bored of watching the same "type" of interiors in better graphics with hardly anything to interact or people to talk that give missions or speak something that sounds interesting and adds a purpose to visit them.

As many as possible. But Clucing bells and burgershots especially. Was so stupid that in gta V you couldnt go to them.

And bring back the Robbery missions from san andreas.

Ah the possibilities if R* pushed the current gen consoles to their limits. Your list of locations is very good OP kudos, since obviously not every interior can be opened it would be cool to see a lot of interiors open which relate to the story like if you're a low collar criminal you can go into pawn shops, warehouses etc and as you slowly grow in your career more places open due to your higher reputation like museums, night clubs, classy resturants etc. And their could be interiors open right from the get go like in VC where you have the mall and the airports.

Pretty much do what they did in VC but more, more malls and airports, shops, public halls, restaurants the ideas are endless but not to an excessive point where the map is scaled down in size and scope.

Also it wouldn't be the best idea to put schools in, regardless if there are kids or not it's not good for publicity and would be generally taboo

Exactly . Clucking bells , burger shots , diners , cafes , all types of restaurants from different cuisines around the world , pubs , street vendors vending machines should return in gta next . In a realistic way of course , like waiter / waitress ask that if you would like to have a coffee or not , tell ' today's special and special dish of the place  , bring the menu , bring the food to your table , bring the check , etc ... If the place is fancy you have to make a reservation berfore , You should able to choose pay or escape without paying .

They should also bring back the burglar missions from san andreas . We should able to break in and steal sth from the random houses / apartments . If the place have security system or the owners wake up , we should get caught and pay our time at the prison .

I think a lot of places should be made to go through. Malls, grocery stores, convenience stores, shops of all sorts, warehouses, clubs, restaurants, homes, hotels/w rooms, odd places. All it takes is a door that can open like in GTA IV.

Some buildings will never be enterable because of possible references to terrorism and sensible situations (especially large public places like supermarkets or where a huge mass of people comes together). That could be solved due not being able to use "weapons" when you enter a particular location, but what's the point of adding it and taking efforts to construct an enterable location in a GTA what would be useless in the final game. Waste of efforts. Locations like schools, colleges, zoos, airports are never going to be enterable. Some locations like hospitals will lack some departments because of that too (and will be made quite simple if they are in (just like that one in GTA: IV). Don't expect a child hospital to be in the game.

But GTA V lacked elaborate interior locations that were in free-mode enterable (and not mission-only available). That's something that definitely needs to be better in the game. The GTA V world felt very empty because of lacking interior locations and because, the badly designed East Los Santos/working class-residential section (it was almost smaller than in GTA: SA) and of "the no point getting to the north"-problem. There should be more enterable locations in freemode. Everything we had in previous GTA's combined with new locations like more shops (and a variety of them, where you also actually can buy stuff and that you can rob (with a decent amount of money), casino/night clubs, outgoing areas (a huge diversity of bars/cafes/restaurants/dinners in varying price classes and varying style that attracts a different class in the population (rich, poor/ young vs old / both genders or mostly drunk men / nationality/culture (black/hispanic/white or irish/american/european/gang-related activity (gang bars)

What could be done too. More hotels/motels in both the city as the countryside where you can save the game as well in your room where you payed for. Most motels are very basic and you should save in no time (although enter the location, pay your room and than enter your room that is marked on the hub). But also luxury hotels where you can swim outside during daytime, 'meet' people, do different things in the hotel or eat a bit in the restaurant-section. A more elaborate vivid hotel but where the price amount is large.

A prison should be enterable as well. There is most likely only one prison in the game, so make it very well and comprehensive, and maybe focus one of your missions here (like rescuing a comrade or being locked in prison as yourself (and you need to escape). Make it difficult to escape, it could be one of the most beautifully made missions ever. A prison has a lot of potential. You could also make a fictional prison made in San Fierro based on Alcatraz (but still operating today).

NPC locations should definitely be enterable, and it should be done like they did it in GTA 5 with the protagonist locations. Random stuff is going on, and NPC's have lives too. If you visit them, they could be at home or they could be elsewhere. You can randomly encounter NPC's on the streets doing their usual business during the day. I'm of course referring to characters you will encounter in the game. If they are at home, you could enter their houses or ask to do an activity. Some NPC's have a family too and the way this should be implemented in the game should be the same as they did with the protagonists of GTA 5. That would be quite elaborate.

Should it be possible to enter houses of NPC's of characters you don't encounter in the game? I don't know. I think there should be a huge variety in interiors to make it fun enough and there would definitely be burglary missions in the game to do that. It could be fun, but i don't think it should be a priority. I'm more than happy enough if their gardens are already beautiful enough.

Yeah , i kinda agree with you about massacres in public places could be a propaganda for terrorism but there are lots of ways to prevent that . First of all we shouldn't carry unlimited weapons and ammos in the first place . A pistol and a machine gun with up to 100 ammos each would be enough for the story mode . If we need another or more weapons or ammos we should carry in the trunks of our cars or suitcases with us . And we shouldn't able to use our weapons in public places like mall , supermarkets , schools , movie theatres etc . For example we can't use our weapons at the movie theatres , rides at the Del Pierro Pier , etc in gta 5 . They could have exactly do the same  this for public places in gta next .

Also nice ideas about the prison escape and variety of people in the outgoing places . There were lost of different types of npcs in gta 4 , but we couldn't have seen that in gta 5 .

I remember when it was "announced" that more than 75% of the buildings in V can be entered and R* is currently working with all effort for completing this for best quality experience. Never happened also don't see that in the next title as the workload is too high for R*. They would have to sell that space. They tried selling simple space like the ocean in V, but most of the people only liked it, but do not see such a special thing in it. I only see some more buildings than in V (which has almost none if I remember correctly).

A must.

I'd go further.

Enterable busses were meant to be in IV and enterable trains (that you could move around in) were in RDR.

Both should be in VI.

The Open All Interiors mod for V on the PC is amazing - it completely provides the superior interior experience V should have had in the original game. Bahama Mamas West and Tequi-La La interiors are brilliant to be in when there is a party going on, how Rockstar neglected this is beyond me. It's a shame you have to mod the game just to experience such simple, straightforward immersion in V.

Yes.  Restaurants where you can get realistic steak.  So, you gotta have interiors for restaurants just for that.

All of the above, of course. There is really no excuse for there to not be more accessible interiors in current (and future)-gen GTA titles.

Businesses and properties that the player owns, at the very least, should have accessible interiors. It makes no sense, for example in GTA V, why some interiors are inaccessible outside of certain missions - such as Tequi La-La (even after the player has purchased it). It shouldn't be up to players to mod the game either to access these interiors - they should just be accessible.

It's amazing how a Script less than 200KB large extends the Exploration Opportunities in the Game. :^:

Yes.  There are some interiors that can only be accessed for one or two selected missions.  In the cases that it is logical to do so, (because they are open places like clubs, bars etc) they should be open all the time even if it means getting wanted stars for going in certain prohibited areas.  For certain other interiors it is logical for them to only be accessible during missions because they are private areas anyway.

But unless they are destroyed, all interiors should become available after the story is completed.  Or use the post-story opening of interiors as a reward for a suitable collectibles side-mission or something.  But there's no reason to keep them all closed.

I was a good sport and didn't just lazily tick "All" (though that would be cool, I don't want R* wasting too much of its time on potentially repetitive interiors, and we know time is now of priority for single-player mode now with Online sadly placing restrictions on how far R* wants to go with offline features.

I think any of the options that would offer a good deal of variety of things to see like museums, malls, or art galleries would be awesome. I'd like to see them expand the amount of viewable movies in theaters, I think the movies in V really provided a lot of life to the city. Restaurants should of course make a comeback, nice way to regain health as well as of course threatening the staff and killing the other patrons :). Definitely re-add the casino, and now that we have animals places like the zoo and aquarium would be an awesome way to expand that idea. Plus, it might be fun to have a way to scuba-dive into the tanks and be able to watch people's reactions to seeing you in there with the fish, lol. And the zoo? I'm not an animal hater by any means, but going in there and having myself a little mini-safari killing exotic animals and getting cops really pissed sounds like a lot of absurd fun. I think arcades are another pretty natural expansion - we've only had about 2-3 arcade games in each game up till now, might be fun to see what R* comes up with if they had to make an entire arcade's worth of mini arcade games.

I just don't see some of these options working, especially educational campuses - you all know they'd use the "safehouse lock" and let's be honest - you guys would just want to shoot the place up, lol.

Restaurants, diners, etc should definetly be in the game. We have to eat properly to keep our life like Gta San Andreas. It should be in realistic way of course, not like in the previous games. We should be able to see the menu/options, choose our meal/drink, eat it by using eating utensils, pay by our credit card/cash/ticket,etc... or escape without paying,.hit on our waitress, chat with npcs... get fat, thin by the amount of your eating...The game should give us all options that we can actually do in our lives.

They should make some more secret locations. I am looking at Saints Row 2 for the source.

Remember the mall? You get to explore it for a mission but its hard to find otherwise, there you can find unique stores with different clothes and weapons. That's what I wish they would bring. I would also like it if they bring back the stunting missions from the 3 era gta and combine them with the interriors. Remember the bmx mission in VCS? I would also like the rc missions to comeback. Imagine having an rc car in an airport with racing while avoiding the security.

As for the normal places like homes and things like that they should look at the tech in Shenume. There you would have randomized interriors which was smart that they looked like they were put inn by the devs an looked natural. I am not sure if the interriors changed each time you walk inside but they looked like the devs designed them.

SR2 was fantastic for completely random, off the rails interiors like the underground sex cave in the cemetery for example. I would love to see more of those kind of interiors in the GTA series. The beating heart inside of the Statue Of Happiness was also very cool.:)

What's funny is that Saints Row 2 can cram interiors into almost every place in game, but GTA V struggles to let us go into the little amount of interiors actually in the game. Smh. If you're going to include some interiors, let us access them! There's like 20 or more we can't even access!

Gym was fun, houses were good. Casinos and pawn shops are good too.

I'd like all interiors but taking our current tech into account i think they should prioritize these locations most:

A variety of houses you can burglarize, with low income areas offering low security/difficulty, low LEO response times but lower payout. High end houses will be heavily secured with state of the art alarm systems and even home bodyguards for some millionaires, these would be high risk/high reward. Stealth should be a definite option, but you can always kick the front door down with your guns drawn.

Drug Houses/Warehouses and Gang Territory spread throughout the city that can be raided multiple times similar to the outpost system in The Phantom Pain and Far Cry.

Car dealerships that can be entered normally or by smashing a semi through the glass to steal high end cars. Different dealerships have varying levels of security

Various public places that can initiate a classic GTA rampage but they'd be renamed Massacres or Terror Attacks. You'd be contacted by various terrorist groups/false flag gov't groups and you have to take out a certain number of people and escape to be successful. Payment can include money or high end weapons.

More strip clubs as well as junkie dens, where you can experience different drug trips, and brothels would be nice too

That's the keyword : ' current tech '. Some people considering ideas to the limitations of the current tech. However we all know that gta vi is going to release later than 2023. So they have at least 6 years from now on. The next consoles like ps 5 and xbox 2, also new tech pcs definetely would have much more capacity to allow hundreds, maybe thousands of interiors.

NO for schools and toyshops. I just don't like the idea.

Spas would be kinda useless (swimming halls would be so much better)

Big malls would be cool though and could include phone shops.

Anything you can steal

More business related activities

Bars and Restaurants and Cafes for realism

Clubs could have darts, bowling etc

Offices for CEO's like now
