Mikhail Faustin was one of my favorite characters in IV he was a crazy, intimidating, and scary Russian mob boss he was a step up for Niko after dealing with Vlad.

What I loved about him was his craziness and unpredictability he kind of reminded me of a insane but still keeps sh*t together version of Trevor and even though he is written pretty serious Faustin had a couple moments where he made me laugh.

Yeah, I liked Mikhail Faustin. I loved the mission "The Master and the Molotov". The atmosphere was really cool. Cloudy and rainy and once you executed him that distant thunder would be heard making the scene that much cooler.

"Who are you my daddy?" - Faustin to Dimitri

"Get out of my sight before I kill you" *starts flapping like a bird*

My first few playthroughs I didn't really like him but now he's one of my favorite characters.

Sad thing that we had to kill him so early in the storyline. One of the best characters in the game. An intimidating psychopathic crime lord, the finger always on the trigger. Definitely someone you shouldn´t f*ck around with.

When Martin Madrazo appeared for the first time, he suddenly reminded me of Mr. Faustin. I was so excited and hoped he will take a big part in the storyline. Well, we all know how it went out...I´m still pissed about that missed opportunity, lol.

Yeah, killing Dimitri and having Faustin as the main antagonist would´ve been awesome. Dimitri becoming a big shot later in the story line always felt a bit weird to me. Faustin spreading his business and repeatedly getting into Niko´s way seems more likely to me.

Furthermore, "Hostile Negotiation" would be even more epic with Niko shouting "You´re not gonna pull my kasin´s stitches out!" :p

Nah, Faustin would be a close friend of Niko's providing him with backup whenever needed (like Dwayne) and then Bulgarin would be the antagonist.

Yup. Sadly, his only real use was in GTA Online. "Sounds fun" -Niko Bellic voice

I swear that guy in the middle (Hitman looking dude) shot Roman. Perhaps, when Mikhail Faustin was killed he went to work for Dimirti?

Funnily enough even their voices/accents sounded similar to me, which I know doesn't make sense since Madrazo is Mexican and Faustin is Russian, lol. But yeah when Madrazo first appeared I thought he was gonna at the Faustin of GTA V, or even more.

That's something I love about IV, even relatively minor antagonists like Vlad and Faustin, leave such a huge impact.

Valid point. But first of all he´s a non-real AI man who abuses his non-real AI wife. Second I don´t appreciate him because he´s such a good example of the husband I want to be, I appreciate him as a very well developed villain. For me the assholes in games and movies are often the most interesting people (unlinke in real life).

If we put it like that, how can we appreciate one single GTA protagonist, everyone of them is a murdering, highly violent criminal. This leads to nothing.

OT: I´m always mesmerised to see your "Bernd das Brot" avatar, always thought he´s only known here in Germany. :D

I mean it's one thing to murder and steal to advance the plot, but if you're addicted to painkillers or whatever he was and makes you beat up porn actors and blow up garages and abuses his wife, that's a whole nother league. Of course he's a good antagonist, but I definently wouldn't appreciate him for that, especially when he's done more bad for Niko than good.

Plus I'm in Germany so that's pretty relevant

It begs the question though, is Niko even more of a bad person than what Faustin is? Niko kills literally hundreds of people during the course of IV, whereas Faustin kills one henchman. One. Yes Faustin abuses his wife and is a drug user, but Niko kills people and lots of them. So who is worse?

Nah, Dimitri was the one addicted to painkillers. He even shouted at Dimitri when he wanted him to take some of his painkillers to calm down. Faustin is more of a cocaine and alcohol addict.

What´s wrong about beating up porn actors (actually Niko shoots him in the leg instead of beating him up) and blowing up garages in GTA? GTA was always about stuff like this, things we never would approve irl. The things that Faustin told you to do in IV, they´re pretty minor compared to other missions in GTA. Getting my garage blown up or being shot in the leg isn´t nearly as bad as, for example, being buried alive in my own sh*t and concrete like the guy in SA´s "Deconstruction". Just because his workers shouted some sh*t at CJ`s sister. At least the guys Faustin sent Niko after were bad guys. The garage owner was an associate of Kenny Petrovic and the porn actor worked for Joseph, so he was a part of his sex trafficking business.

Faustin was an excellent character, and I think it would have been awesome if that early in the game, we could elect to side with Dimitri or Mikhail.  Either the way to story could pan out similarly, you know Bulgarin comes back on the scene, Niko and Roman get burnt out of Hove Beach, move to Bohan so on and so forth, but because of an early choice, the reasons for Niko meeting Liz Torres and other future contacts change, all whilst maintaining a relationship with Faustin as a hitman contracted out to the Pegorino's later in the story and so on and so forth.  I do prefer having a set storyline however when it was first announced we had the choice to kill one of two characters at certain points in the story, I'd hoped it'd be a lasting choice rather than change a few lines of dialogue.
