What next Rockstar, a Spruce Goose?

Most likely (and sadly) Boats.

Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. If they'll make a rocket bike and a batmobile, they'll make this:

Submarine Ardent?

What extras will it have?
The spoiler would be nice...

I still say it's oddly proportioned.

Yeah, I agree with Joe. I think the rear windows look rather odd when seen from the front. A bit too small.

Will the mudflaps be an extra?

In my opinion, I honestly don't see much of a problem with it. The back is wider than the front, so that may be what is making it look odd at some angles.

What extras will it have?
The spoiler would be nice...

I thinking of doing the wide fenders with a roll cage and a front bumper delete, like the Escort from F&F 6. So basically I'm planning on making it like the Coyote, where there will be two different looks for the car. A stock clean look, and then a racing car look.

Will the mudflaps be an extra?

Yup.

my opinion on the proportioning is that it feels a lot more balanced when you select options that remove the bumpers

also good work on the conversion!!! it's looking slick, the rims you chose are really nice.

Very nice as always, Thunder!

By the way, I was looking at Retinue's texture files and realized that the texture containing its headlights and tail lights is called "cossie_lights", perhaps suggesting that the car would be called the Vapid Cossie. Although the name "Retinue" does fit with the model, since it refers to "Escort", it would be nice to see another classic GTA car coming back in GTAV...

Well guys, I got some really bad news.

My gaming/modding computer has decided to let me down and die. The motherboard has gone bad and unfortunately it's going to be a long while before I can get a new one. Sadly, the Retinue I was working will not be completed. I will try to get on the hard drive later on and get the files so I can put them on here, and maybe another modder can finish up the car for me.

:(

Wait, Thunder, if you replace the motherboard, won't you be able to just boot Windows as usual and finish the conversion? I heard recent Windows versions can handle motherboard replacement just fine.

They can - I moved my Win10 SSD between two PCs which had nothing except the peripherals in common and it booted just fine.

I have Windows 7, but I still need to get a new motherboard to find out. I can't get a new one immediately as I have other more important things to spend my money on.

Let's all chip in and help Thunder out. Some kind of Patreon/GoFundMe/other thing acceptable or not? I know I won't be able to, but the other people on here might be.

You don't need to do that, I'll have the money eventually to get a new motherboard. I appreciate the gesture, but I'd rather not accept donations.

Hope mine doesn't die. I built mine 6 years ago. I was going to build a new one with this year's tax refund, but I ended up just replacing the gfx card cuz I spent the rest on an AR15 and a 1911.

And unless next year's refund is massive, it's going towards a new vehicle for the wife.

I'm back!!

I managed to find a mobo for a reasonable price and the replacement went without a hitch, so I luckily didn't lose anything. :D

So...where was I again? Oh yeah, the Retinue.

retinue_2.jpg

I've been getting back to working on this little scamp, and manged to get the rally mods onto the car.

As you can see, I did take some inspiration from the F&F 6 Escort with the front bumper. In many ways the car will be like the Coyote with the extras spawning. Sometimes it'll have the rally mods, and other times it'll look stock.

It's good to be back.

You come back right after gfx card dies. Third one in as many years. Next pc I build isn't gonna have a [email protected] exhaust fan on top of it's [email protected]$#&@g case. You'd think my kids would be more careful now that they're in their teens, but noooooo...

Anyway, looks good! I can't wait to try it out, but I'm gonna have to, lol! This integrated crap sucks @ss.

Hey welcome back Thunder. I'm not a IV/V modding fan guy, and I have almost no experience modding them but I'm following your work since your GTA V's R32 Elegy conversion (and is f*cking mind blowing). Your return was very quick and luckily haha. Good luck with the Retinue, your skills are awesome. Hard to find GTA IV modders nowdays.

For those who are curious if the Retinue convert will have livery support, the answer is yes.

retinue_liverys.jpg

The UV mapping has been preserved from V, so this convert should be 100% compatible with any livery made for the V model.

This means that you should be able to use the awesome custom livery's made by TG_Stig.

So Thundersmacker...

After the Vapid Retinue, What's next in your magic hat full of tricks?

How about a 1975 Schyster Greenwood Brougham

based on the 1975 Chrysler New Yorker Brougham 4-Door Sedan?

-INSERT_1975_CHRYSLER_NEW_YORKER_PICS_HERE-

it's Just an idea, that's all :p
