2003, San Fierro and Las Venturas

I'll be joining DYOM Contest #8 with this mission pack IF i do it in time.

This mission pack will also feature sound for most, if not all, missions. But mostly they are minor Ambience songs that only play during the cutscene.

This mission pack will include (Optional) skins. If skins are not installed then you see the skin i would choose for that character if i could not use mods for this mission pack.

 

Story

In this mission pack, we see the gang world of San Fierro and Las Venturas through the eyes of the triads. More precisely, you play as the well-skilled Triad member Su Xi Mu, which the triads can't do without. You help triads with defeating enemy rivals in this "small" (around 20 missions) mission pack. Su Xi Mu was first only a translator for Ran Fa Li, but in 1995 Farlie left San Andreas without Suzie. Suzie now being thrown onto the street life of not being a translator anymore but a Mountain Cloud Boy assossicate, he tried to do his best to go to a shooting range regularily and improve his aim to help Woozie and his triad gang to success. Suzie had a special power in him that made him learn gunmanship really fast, helping Woozie with the problems in San Fierro and the Casino in Las Venturas. As years passed, Suzie and Woozie kept doing the same over and over while the world was changing very fast. With that, new divisions of the Triad gang in San FIerro were made, like the Fit Cobras which was made by Woozie's old associate from China, Hu Li Chan. There were new gangs forming every year, such as the Thugz which started off as just five hoodlums dealing drugs at the side of the street like it was still the 80's. But later there came more people interested in the organization and it became a street gang. The Thugz are not that big of a gang and anyone with enough power and time could wipe them out. Furthermore, The Vinci mob was formed in 1997 as a small Italian family business in Vice City, but then people started to ask for help and jobs and started getting recruited. In 2001 the Vinci Mob traveled to Las Venturas to take over Caligula's Casino after the sudden hit on a guy named Paulie, the previous owner at that time, which wasn't part of any organization so anyone could take the chance to take over the casino. The Triads have been having quite a conflict with them too.

Also i've added a link to the car which appears in Su Xi Mu's Image. It's not really needed for the story because it's just a car not really important in the story. I've added it for the hardcore players (presumeably with Modloader) so they could experience this MP to the max if it comes out.

Hey guys i just planned out the soundtrack.

most of them are used twice. The filenames are loosely based on the names of the missions they're appearing in. 

These songs will be used in the cutscenes.

YES! OUR BOY RANDOMSTUNT IS FINALLY BACK WITH A NEW DYOM PROJECT! :D 

I can't wait to play this sh*t, man! it's looking pretty good! :D I'll definitely be the first to play it, and give my review of it! ;)

And yes! I'm so glad you chose to do a gang related DYOM! those're the best! sure they may be 'cliched' but, they're still motherf*ckin'

N I C E  M I S S I O N  P A C K !

Nice post hunting. The missions are not even released yet.

I am amazed of the tactis the newbie-circle keeps coming up with. They give you some "nice" or "cool" reply just to get you to play their missions, even though they haven't even played yours. GG guys.

 

Anyhow, I'll play this as soon as it's released, I need a break from all the low standart crap in the mission showroom :(

Intro

 

Presentation: very good few cutscenes show you how and what your going to do, not exactly that but good work!

 

Writing: excellent

You know, there is not much sentense to judge in the intro, but yeah, excellent!

 

Length: //

 

Difficulty:    //

Just few cutscenes present us the story, so good!

 

Variety

it's just a intro nothing there, so //

 

Traid Work

 

Presentation: very good

 

go to woozie place talk they get out see what's happening, etc.. very nice!

 

Writing: excellent

 

i see a good english in this SL, i haven't see any errors (i'm not good but i know how to make a sentense), excellent.

 

Length: very good

 

The mission runs bettwen 5 to 8 min's, that's all, very good!

 

Difficulty: meduim

 

just killing some enemies, you need to be careful killing em' cuz of the accuracy they got, nice!

 

Variety: very good.

 

i see cars, and maybe object, actors, etc... very good!

 

Approval rating: 75%

I played the missions. A few tips before I go down to the verdict:

Triad Work could easily have been made as an intro. 

In Rare Stallion, I think that it's a little bit too easy. If you choose to go stealthy, all enemies are facing their backs at you, which is very unrealistic, not to mention that they stay put. You should have added some patrol routes instead, makes the mission more challenging.

 

Now, to the review.

I liked it a lot. Great dialogue, decent English, interesting and unique missions. I especially liked the "Collect bribes to loose the cops" idea. Haven't seen it in use before! I might borrow it for my own projects, if you do not mind :).

Overall, I give it a 9/10. If you keep it up, I think it might end up next to masterpieces such as Flats :)

Played. I agree with Rytuklis, you could improve the whole 'stealth' choice because it's way too easy. You could add cops walking around and/or improve atmosphere by adding objects that will drive the player to find another exit after he gets into the garage or because you could block some roads in police area which would set a higher difficulty or whatever. Also, i don't know if you disabled spawning cars after certain objective but as soon as you steal the car, you get 4-5 stars and none is chasing you? I know for DYOM bug that sometimes DYOM turns spawning cars off by itself, that's why i'm asking. Anyway it's good overall and i suggest you to add even more sounds to the future missions. The ambient music in cutscene is great, though it would be even better if you would add custom sound effects in gameplay, well everything's alright after all, just a suggestion.

well the stealth option is really not so great considering i suck both at making good stealth missions and playing them. that was just a kinda experiment.

by the way, i don't know what happens after you get the wanted level, i also experience bugs like that in multiple missions.

So there's this one mission i have on my planning board i don't think i'll be able to do well. I haven't made much water-themed missions so making a mission about fighting off enemies on the sea would be a little hard for me. Does anybody want to suggest a new Triad vs da nang boys mission idea before i randomly come up with one myself?

So, I just played the beta, here's my review:

 

AWESOME. 

Just plain motherf*ckin' awesome. :D I loved both of the missions we got in this beta, they were fun, exiting, action, balls-to the-walls shootouts, everything amazing! although I do think you should've gave us an extra armor or health pickup. Because I died the first time playing: "Triad work". 

Overall rating: 9.5/10  

Awesome beta. Gets me even more exited to play the entire thing when it's released. :)

I suggest you make drive by mission, you know chasing enmies, eliminate em' from your place. etc...

A mission similar to this were you have to save a bunch of triads from the da nang boys.
