Actually, it does caching exactly as you've said.
First time it loads shaders in approx. 20 seconds and other things in 1 second, and any other time whole loading lasts no more than 2 seconds. And that's true even for a weak tablet PC(Asus T100TAL).
I dunno why it takes so long for you...may be MAX 2017 is the reason here?

Is it possible to add lights to a prop? Like a lamp for example. Also, along with the light, maybe a flare? @3Doomer

you are right iI tried it in 2013 and loads fast with in 2 seconds didn't try on 15 and 16 as I have too but 17 loads as of writing this now it took about 2 and a half mins to load it just gets stuck at resource names for that time but it maybe peoples pc setup or specs these are mine

Yes. You just put GIMS light into model or model bone hierarchy and it should export. Light parameters aren't quite researched yet, so you'll have a little pain tuning them...

I've worked in MAX 9 SP2, 2009, and 2016 on wide hardware range - haven't seen your issue at all.

I have the same problem, is crashing after OpenIV update, my OpenIV is already updated '-'

It will take some time to remake GIMS for new OpenIV version. I'll try to make a new version tomorrow.

I have some transparent textures, i set DXT1 for them, but in the game always appears black...

It should be DXT3, and make sure to use a cutout shader for this.
