What I like the most is that Choi got back the KoF 94/95 outfit. That's looking much better

Who doesn't love Freddy?
China team ain't bad, but I would've placed him in either Kim or Terry's team due to Fatal Fury...or maybe with Billy in a disgruntled forced team-up of sorts (unless of course Yamazaki & Blue Mary are back).

Vice and Kim. Also a new character - Sylvie. She's pretty... ew. Her powers are alright though.

Guess Athena got too old and they needed a new young idol.
E: Angel though...glad she stayed the same.

Also 2 new characters: Nelson and Luong. Talking about new characters... I found this pic on MugenGuild last week or so. Seems that Luong's design in this pic is similar to the one in the trailer.

The Sub Boss seems similar to Duke from KOF:MI, and a stage showed in the last trailer seems similar to Duke's stage, from what I readed. I have doubts on the stage but these characters look similar.

Best part of that trailer for me was seeing the Fatal Fury truck stop stage again.

That being said...
The Aquarium stage features a new Esaka theme (it's pretty obvious if you notice that part that was from 96's Esaka);
The Arena stage may feature either a new Arashi no Saxophone theme (or an entirely new named theme), or a new theme for the Women Fighters team;
And the Neo Esaka stage may feature a new theme for the Fatal Fury team.
This is pure speculation, and may be not true, but the theme featured in the Aquarium stage is prolly a new Esaka theme.

-Team Korea (Yes, Korea, not Kim, I refuse)-
I knew they had to add new cosplay fodder eventually. GG.
Wish Luong would have a dress outfit though... but I'm probably guessing they avoided dresses for everyone because the free-flowing fabric would be a bitch to animate.
-Villain Team-
I thought they were reformed?
Oh well...I expect good pre-battle intros for Chang and Choi with Kim, SNK.
I'm still pissed off at the decision to turn Kyo into a boy-toy, but everything else seems to be promising.
I really, really hope they stop using Orochi as a plot device this time around. While it was a great saga and the lore was amazing, it's had it's run.
If I could have it my way, I'd have kept the in-game KoF tournament as an underground circuit. With the exception of 97, I always felt the "Grand Tournament" KoFs were bland and kinda rushed compared to the entries were KoF was an underground event.
Edit: That premium edition...
Grr I want it so bad. I love Atlus' contributions to the artwork so much, but I can't see myself putting down so much money on a game that may end up short or lackluster.
I know it's a fighting game and that the focus nowadays is multi-player, but KoF has always had great SP arcs distributed between the games, manga & OVAs. I just hope they add a worthwhile amount of that this time rather than before. I'll drop thousands of hours on a KoF title, but it's the lore that makes them so remembered and great to me.

Off-topic, but still KOF related.
Apparently DOA5 Last Round will have Mai as a guest character DLC in September. And also a crossover costume DLC with KOF.
DOA is a 3D fighter. I'm really eager to see how they will translate the movesets.
Secondly, KOF has the laggy hit effect which stops the movement for like a second. DOA doesn't have that. So I'm really really eager to see how they translate all of this over.
** Before some of you confused regarding 2D/3D fighter, '2D/3D' here isn't about the graphic. It's control related. DOA and Tekken are 3D fighter; they allow you to move along Z axis, unlike KOF, MK, etc.

Am I the only one dissapointed with Mai's face? It looks like most faces in DOA5.
Oh well, Mai's face changed allot of times that I don't care anymore.

Because that's the screenshot of her being featured in DOA5. lol
Team Ninja always restyle guest characters to match theirs. And so far people are happy. Me too; she looks better
