Can we lock this thread now

You want it locked, but you keep clicking on it and posting in it. Duh. That makes sense.

They're still releasing content for online that might have originally been meant for DLC. People want to discuss it. That's why this thread should stay open. If you don't like it, leave.

Is this a thread about future single player DLCs or it's just a rehash of the complaining thread ?

R* Already confirmed that there would never be a single player DLC for GTAV so we can stop all the speculation here , we have an answer. Can we lock this thread now to help all those guys to move on instead of letting them clinch desperately to their past memories.

Numbers don't lie. The reality is ; The vast majority of people who bought GTAV did it to play online ultimately. On steam , only 20% of the players actually finished the game ...  1/5. Online player base is still very strong with hundreds of thousands of players around the world , after 4 years of release. This is an incredible player retention and really proves again that the Online component cater for the vast majority of the players who bought the game.

aEtqV6E.jpg

'' Since October 2016, Rockstar Games has released four significant content updates for GTA Online. These included Bikers, Deadline, Import/Export, and the Festive Surprise 2016. GTA Online continues to outperform expectations in every earnings release, with Grand Theft Auto V being the highest-rated game ever made. Its a must have for console and PC players, Zelnick said, with the franchise bringing in a total of $225 million last quarter. Grand Theft Auto V also sold more units in 2016 than it did in 2015, being the sixth best-selling game in the United States in 2016, while GTA Online saw a record number of users in December 2016, driven by new content releases, most likely Import/Export, which released in the same month. ''

Source : https://ar12gaming.c...-fy17-q3-report

https://steamcommuni...0/achievements/

There are only two achievements reached over %60.

1) Welcome to Los Santos (You get this after Franklin and Lamar, first mission in 2013)
2) Off the plane (GTA Online introduction)

Interesting, not only finishing the story most of the players seems to skip lots of good things you can do in the game (both story & online)

Los Santos Custom achievement is only unlocked by %23.7 of players.

Modifying your car to hell is one of the most satisfying part of the GTA V but at least %76.3 of players didn't interested in or did simple stuff.

I keep posting in it to counter balance all the false information and lies that people love to spread. If you want to hate on the game because they didn't release a dlc like you wanted , there's a complain thread for that. This thread is to speculate about a possible SP DLC. There won't be any. Case closed.

I have no idea how many times people have made this post, but if you think this thread should be locked stop posting in it.

The users participation into this thread doesn't change the rules of this forum. This thread only exist to flame GTAV community coming from a vocal minority of people who hate this game. Then they also go on the other threads daily , derailing any decent conversation that could occur. That's why there are rules for spamming and trolling. (deliberately acting out to annoy or flame the community).

This thread also take the spot of other more constructive threads who aim to have active discussion between players of that community instead of promoting hate and flaming it's own player base.

It's impossible to speculate about something that was confirmed to never exist in the future , therefore this thread got no reason to exist. If they want to speculate on the online DLCs , there's a thread for this in the Online section.

I'll re-post the rules of the forums here for everyone. Also i feel like i shouldn't be antagonized by one of the mod just because i'm actually trying to elevate the discussions around these forums. To elevate them above the current high school bickering that we're all used to due to a certain minority of players who clearly having nothing better to do than hate on a game that they apparently don't even play anymore.

Sincerely yours , A passionate GTAV player who'd just like to have an interesting forum discussion with other fans. Thanks.

It's impossible to speculate about something that was confirmed to never exist in the future , therefore this thread got no reason to exist.

So the files Fun found back in 2015 from a few posts back wasn't proof enough? Or the fact R* outright said in a newswire post that stuff was coming? What was the newswire post about then? What were these "further adventures"? I mean if SP was never even considered like you think then R* was outright lying in that newswire post then.

I mean, it makes sense R* would say that "DLC was never planned". The alternative would be to say "We ditched it for microtransactions" and after what happened with EA and BF2, it probably wouldn't be the best statement to make.

The past is irrelevant , they announced 3 months ago that the DLC would never occur. Stop living in the past and beating on a dead horse. What's so hard to understand ?

Do you only play GTAO then? Because technically playing anything before GTAO's release (Oct. 2013) is living in the past. Enjoy Vice City? Living in the past dude. San Andreas? Get with the times, SA's old news. You like mystery hunting in a game that's four years old. You're such a past person.

If nothing else all this new Doomsday DLC proves they are still putting people in the mocap room and writing new dialog/scenes for old actors and new. I don't believe we will ever see actual SP DLC now but I believe we WILL see Michael, Trevor and Franklin show up in the online game very soon.

Probably as the last online DLC because all this Cliffford thing is building to something which involves having to bring the old crew back in for one last big score that changes the map. There's been too many hints dropped for there not to be something coming involving the story characters in the online player.

You are probably right. The last Online content will probably involve a Casino heist and a Bahama Mamas property.

At this point, my only wish is that R* will make the Online vehicles, weapons, clothes, etcetera, available in SP.

Perhaps I should add that I am kind of relieved that the "Doomsday" DLC was for Online. How disappointing would it not had been if that was a major part of the SP DLC that we have been waiting for the last couple of years? I am the first to admit that I would have wanted "Heists" badly for SP, but apart from the gear the later Online DLC:s have been lame and even cringe-worthy.

From the PS3 build log, GTAV suffered from the problem of development focus changing mid-way. Until the second half of the game's development they were focusing on the Cops and Crooks multiplayer mode, and likely SP DLC was already planned then. Then they started doing GTA Online and microtransactions and that probably got buried on purpose.

I guess it's safe to say none of the main characters are going to work on voice acting or motion capture anymore because I've seen old Ned Luke in a new Trulicity commercial.

It depends on how good their agents are at getting them jobs they also have to audition and stuff and may not get roles. Except for Steven Ogg since V released he's gotten a lot of acting jobs and really turned his career around.

I think they could have gotten small roles in RDR2 as minor characters.

Ned, Steve and Slink are all doing good.

Only Franklin's voice actor(Shawn Fonteno) seem to not get a career boost, don't know why.

Maybe because his work in GTA V wasn't very spectacular due to lack of screen time and character development?

Franklin I think second protagonist in screen time, after Michael.

I don't know, his character development sucked because he has the worst side characters. Wade has more screen time than Aunt + Tanisha + Stretch combined.

It is nothing related with Shawn actually. His performance is nothing spectacular but he is not lower than others in terms of acting / voice performance.

Maybe unluckiness.

Most likely nothing. But nevertheless announced close to the RDR2 delay.

Not at all, you are right. There is no need to be in denial. Hell Rockstar finally confirmed it themselves a few months ago when they talked about their Online boner and how SP DLC was dumped.

Yeah, I am more or less posting it for the record and I do not believe that we will get a true SP DLC.

However, I thought it was somewhat interesting that Fonteno made the announcement close to the R* statement about the RDR2 delay.  A remote possibility would be that R* plans to release something like a GOTY edition with some of the Online stuff available in SP (cars, etcetera) to throw some to the restless consumer base.

Do anyone remember if Fonteno, Ogg and Luke did more joint tours after the marketing for GTAV (single player campaign) winded down in say 2014, 2015?

They are just using the game for their fame, I don't think it is related with an extra game content.

Rockstar clearly stated that they are not going to release extra single player content for GTA V.

This. I doubt anyone would know these 3 guys exist apart from a niche audience if they weren't in GTA V. Look at Steven Ogg, off the back of GTA V he got a casting in the Walking Dead.

Why not capitalise on being in one of the worlds biggest games? From their perspective it's a pretty smart move.
