I never understood Why people think "The Driver" And "Demolition Man" is so hard. I was able to complete both on my first try on my ps2.

i had trouble with them
the driver was much harder than demolition man
i was 12 at the time😂😂

I am literally obsessed by this game. A lot of things I like come from this game. If I am an 80s lover I have to thank Rockstar.

I spent endless, wonderful nights on my PS 2. Even had gaming parties in which we swapped the controller whenever someone failed. That was a very cool time in my life.

I remember myself being so damn fascinated by the story and the graphics back then. It seriously was a flashy timefiller.

I LOVE the music. I was born in the very early 80's and it brings back a lot of good memories.

I really loved the Whoppee Icecream truck mission, made me feel like a real thug. I'm really looking forward to it, while my platinum run on the 4...... ;)

I confess i like to sing along to "Broken wings" by MisterMister, and "Waiting for a Girl like You" by Foreigner. Not only that but, i also try to pitch my voice in the low and high parts. Just like them.  :colgate:

I feel you 100000000000000 on that one... My poor neighbors.... I even looked up some lyrics, to make it perfect... XD

Sometimes I like going to the pause menu and selecting a radio station so I can listen to Vice City's awesome tunes whilst I do things around the house.:)

Meh. I've got the Radio Stations on my Phone. I sometimes Troll people who ask what Station I'm listening to, by giving them a fake AM/FM Frequency.

I'm evil, aren't I. :D

3. I have never beaten the game 100 percent after years of playing

Lol yup, that's my sad confession too xD Got the game when I was 10, now I'm 24 :|

The main reason I got into GTA was to kill peds and explore "life" in a game lol.

I never got full criminal rating and pilot rank legit and feel compelled to play this game until I some day manage to achieve those.

Today is the first day in my life to play gta vice city. Its loading on my ps4 now. 3-4h to start.

I never liked or had any interest to the miami stuff so I never played this game. I did play gta 3, gta sa and driver 2 at those 3d era gta times.

  • My dad got it for me when it was released. My first memory of the game is watching him play. He stole a motorcycle (he's a biker irl) and drove back and forth on the beach. I was eagerly waiting to play myself...

  • Being an 11-12 year old noob when it came out, I used cheats. I memorized 'em all, yet I didn't know the meaning of the words at that age as English is not my mother tongue.

  • The 80's setting really fascinated me, despite being born in 1990 and missing the 80's altogether. It later led me to become a big fan of Miami Vice and stuff during my teens.

  • The radio stations launched my interested in music, particularly V-Rock (and also Wave 103). I became a metalhead in 2002 and I still am. 80's heavy metal is still my favorite genre, largely because of this game.

  • It took me maybe two years to beat it, because I kept starting over several times. It was because I was bored by some of the missions mid-to-late in the game.

  • I remember just as the last cutscene with Tommy and Ken was rolling, I was thinking about being interested (again) in doing more missions, only to then see the end credits roll before my eyes... *lol*

  • Once at school, one of my buddies had brought some magazine with an article on Vice City, with an image of the map inside as well. We spent the entire class talking about the game.

  • At the time, being young and not understanding English, I did not understand what role Sonny had in the game. To me, he was just there at the very start and end of the game. I was confused about him.

  • My favorite part of the map was the Downtown district. I've always loved skyscrapers, and that area also had Love Fist, the metal record shop, and the MC club.

  • I hated the missions with the RC plane and helicopter respectively, although I managed to beat 'em during several playthroughs. (PC version)

  • I loved to enter the Malibu club and just gun everyone down with the minigun.

  • I probably played this game on an almost daily basis between 2002-2005, which was until San Andreas succeeded it.

How dare you, he is the glue that holds Vice City together..........

Ok maybe not and it wasn't the biggest loss but still would of prefered him to of been kept alive.

The first time I played it I wasn't long completing GTA3, so I was a bit fatigued. It was a borrowed copy anyway my first VC. I did about 10 missions and then gave it back. It was about a year later I finally bought my own copy and played it properly.

I guess my point is; looking back I wish my first play had been with my copy and when I was fully ready for it. That's the way to properly do a classic game like VC.

-I was new to the open world genre and hadn't played many action/adventure games to any proper length for a long period at the time I purchased the GTA Double Pack for original XBOX, but I loved this game automatically.

-Although I once owned a VHS copy of "Scarface", I didn't make the connection to this game and the film, or to "Miami Vice" either. Now, I revel in the connections, and can't believe I didn't acknowledge the references sooner (it helped that I went back and viewed every episode of "Miami Vice").

-Like probably most everybody, I went on prolonged murder sprees with pretty much every weapon at my disposal (nowadays, the missions, vibe, and music keep me coming back to it, and I keep the killing to mostly what's necessary).

-When I first finished the storyline, I didn't finish the Avery Carrington mission chain due to my problems with 'Demolition Man' (in subsequent playthroughs I breeze through the mission), and I finished the Phil Cassidy mission chain last, due to not realizing he had missions (I thought his marker was for guns).

-In my first two playthroughs, I didn't do anything in the way of collecting cars for Sunshine Autos (nowadays I pilfer every car on the list, although I still get weary about it after a while).

-To this day, I still have problems with the missions 'Supply and Demand' (the first part of it), 'Dirty Lickin's' (I'm made when I RPG The Cubans with the Katanas though, but sometimes I miss or fire late and kill too many Haitians), and 'The Driver' (the best I've ever done is finish it on my second time; like 'Dirty Lickin's', sometimes things go wrong).

I used to use cheat codes all the time, no wonder it was so easy to escape cops with the 'Lower wanted level' cheat code.

So easy.

being 11 years old, we only had dial-up internet & scrambled porn on the tv so I would stay up really late & after everyone went to sleep I'd quietly turn on my ps2 & hit up the Pole Position in fear of being caught lol

Great times

Are your Save Files still there? That's arguably the most important thing that's saved lol.

I don't think I have any confessions. I sometimes try to sing to the girl too.

About Demolition Man... In my most recent playthrough this month, I was afraid to touch this mission, and left it for the end where the cutscenes don't make sense, and also lost access to the cuban outfit.

I found the original X box GTA Trilogy at a flea market and what a revelation VC is on that system. It's the best version to me. It almost feels like playing a remastered version.
