Hello there

 

just a quick question, posting of images/screenshots on the forum....... is there coding to shrink the image?

 

on another forum i go on they have size codes to place on the image

 

[img height=375 width=575] URL  something like that.

As far as I am aware, there isn't, no.

It probably isn't necessary as the forums will automatically resize large images in posts, so you don't need to worry about stretching the page or anything like that with very large images.

Otherwise, your best bet is to resize the images yourself to the size that you want them to be before uploading and posting.

For what its worth,

 

It still makes more sense to me to just take the direct link to the image and stick it in between the img brackets. Like so...

[img]place_your_pic_address_here[/img]

That's how we did it in the old days, and we didn't complain! We thought it was great!

On imgur links, you can add a non-capital "L" to the end of the URL to make it into a much smaller image. Example: http://i.imgur.com/OqN9xrA.png becomes http://i.imgur.com/OqN9xrAl.png
(Notice the "l" after the A)
 
It doesn't work on this example because the image is small enough, so it doesn't need to be resized, but it's an effective solution. GTAForums also resizes pictures automatically so they fit more properly in the forum style, and responsively with your screen resolution, but it can prove annoying for tall images.
