v 11.44, where is the radio?

Hey! This is my first post here on this forum. I saw Molotok's amazing videos on Youtube and wanted to complete all maps 100% with KF's, missions, tokens etc. I had some freezes because I had v9.6, so I read that v11.44 in windowed mode would work, and so it did. It's just one problem, the game is the 60 MB version without radio. I can't find any v11.44 version with radio. How am I supposed to do?

EDIT: I installed the patch into my other folder and now I have music. Now I'm dealing with another problem - game freezing again. I've heard it's common when radio is playing and you turn the car etc. I also have low FPS for some reason. I've changed the values in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE so I really don't know what to do.

 

I use Win7 x64 Home.

If you want to complete gta2 100% then use the 9.6 version! 11.44 seems to remove the Wang Car Bonus glitch, where you take a Wang Car, then save and it respawns after loading. WIth 11.44 they don´t seem to respawn so that makes the Kill Frenzy where you have to destroy 20 cop cars with Electro Gun practically impossible(theoretically probably not). But in 9.6 there is the problem with the trailer Kil Frenzies, so you could get the fix for that.

 

As for the FPS problem, if changing values in regedit doesn´t work, try to use some other frame limiting software like dxtory or fraps.

My game just crashed while I was doing the "Grand Theft Auto" mission. It always crashes when I'm in a car, I guess it is because of the radio what I've read. How do I prevent this? I have v 11.44.

It works fine with my soundcard drivers on Windows 8 but I have heard of the game crashing when you turn and the brakes screech too much on some systems.  I figured it was a problem with soundcard drivers but not positive.

 

See if disabling/enabling sound acceleration/"give exclusive mode applications priority" makes a difference

I tried it, but it didn't work. Now I get even more crashes. I'm trying to do a 100% completion on the 3rd district and it crashes after one mission maximum, so I have to save everytime I complete one. Usually it crashes when I'm walking and shooting at the same time.

So what exactly does this 11.44 fix? Does it make all trailer kill frenzies possible to do? Does it make the rednecks' crane work properly?

It's mostly multiplayer related changes but it does fix the trailer kill frenzies.  The redneck crane hasn't been fixed.  B-Shep fixed them at some point but it was on an old version of the scripts files, so I didn't include it.  Rockstar fixed the Wang Car respawn "glitch" in v10.3 and 11.44 uses their updated scripts files but I think I should revert to the old ones for the next update since people want those cars to respawn.

Ok thanks, the trailer bug is what has bothered me the most anyway so I'm glad it's fixed here.

For me, it worked fine. I also inserted the intro in GTA2/data/movie folder, it played too. The music has to be in WAV file format, BTW.

When will the next patch appear? Btw is it possible to fix the sound for getting killed on the train tracks or by flamethrower, the game uses the "wasted" sound although "shoking" and "toasted" sound files are there.

Vike hasn't been working on a new patch. Paul is recreating some of the rendering DLL files to add OpenGL support and maybe other things.

Just tested it and it always plays "wasted", no matter if you are electrocuted (on train tracks) or burned. Also noticed the "game over" is never played, but if you die on train tracks with your last life, it plays "shoking". If you lose your last life normally or get toasted, no sound plays.

If a player is electrocuted in multiplayer, it will play the shocking sound on every other player's PC but on the local player's PC it will play the wasted sound.

 

Not the same if someone is flamed, I've never heard toasted played.

 

I tried to find the cause of the bug but it's too advanced for me.

 

Playing shocking.wav only when you have zero lives is interesting.  I made a test script that starts you off with zero lives, the "GAME OVER!" text appears, it plays shocking.wav and then my script gives the player a life, so the game doesn't actually end.  That's one hacky way to make it play the shocking sound but it also shows "GAME OVER!" on every death.  It still might help debug this bug.

Hmm.. it only plays if it is zero lives when I die on train tracks, otherwise nothing is played. Strange. 

 

Btw I checked the bonus stages. In the first two ice-cream levels (A, B) the sound "time´s up" is played and the text displayed when you get 0 vans. While in the third level © for whatever reason something else is shown, but no sound that fits exists anyway.

 

Then I further checked the e.gxt file and it appears the texts when destroying the vans are listed in [5050]-[5063]. The game only shows text and plays the sounds from 5050 to 5058. The other 5: "sorry about that!", "xin loi, my man!", "damn sunday drivers!", "suck it and see!" and "taste my wrath, ice-cream boy!" are never shown in game or played, maybe bugged? 

 

The sound "frying tonite" seems to have something to do with the ice cream levels too, since it can be found as text in the standings for level B "Frying tonight! 6 vans!". "Nice work" and "Sorry, did that hurt" also are there as text not far away, but it is not clear to me what they are supposed to be used for. For "Somethings cookin" no text exists, so absolutely no clue what it is about. Also don´t know if (instant) vehicle bomb sounds work properly in multiplayer. I think that´s all sounds covered.

Not sure if it's missing anything else.  It also includes some that don't play a sound, all the 5532 marked ones.

Most can be triggered in a custom script by displaying the corresponding brief. Most are used in bff wipeout extreme.

I don't think somethingscookin.wav has a matched brief, so you can't even play that in a custom script.

Yes I forgot gameover.wav, I don't think it can be played the same way as the other sounds in that list but maybe I just missed it.

 

Here's some that are in that location that I really did miss:

 

30 bombarmed.wav (really quiet and a different voice, that's why I didn't hear it when testing first time)
