M3 F80 Sedan. It could be the 2014 or 2016 version as well.

A car I'm definitely going to strive for in the future is a Mustang GT, preferably yellow.

Actually, since you brought up starting cars, I'll have to say that the dream (realistic, relatively cheap and p plate legal) first car would be:

A DC5S Integra (No Type R in Aus afaik, only Type S, either way they go for pretty cheap around here)

80e3b89c.jpg

IMGP2615.jpg

If not that, then a Vti-R DC2 Integra (Type-R? I wish, those things are a fair bit more than a Type-S DC5)

DSC07143_zpsbfb04ba9.jpg

Though, i think the dc2 Vti-r's biggest advantage (despite being worse in performance and only being a tiny bit cheaper) is that there can be more done to it in the first place, compared to getting a higher end model off the bat, like the DC5S.

Either will make me more than happy.

I always loved the design of the DC-5 Integra. It was a nice revolution of the ZE-1 Insight: when you look closely you can see similarities...
Pity the DC-5 was never officially available in Europe (Honda-North).

The Hondas of the early naughties were the best imho. The sky was the limit, concerning their engine technology, too.

Lots of imported DC5s in the UK but they're expensive and many are quite rusty, given that most Japanese market cars don't have anti-corrosion coatings applied at the factory.

Shane as they're one of the best FWD cars ever made.

They're stupidly cheap in Australia, only around 7k minimum! All other 'high' end/performance Honda models start at around 10k.

I have always preferred the look of the DC2R, but honestly the more i look into DC5S the more they grow on me over the DC2R.

Being close to Japan, if I would live in Australia I would look for a rare JDM-Honda. Something like:

- 1st gen Honda Legend 2.5 Turbo
or
- 3rd gen Honda Prelude INX
or
- 2nd gen Honda CRX, (the black limited edition with the brown leather interior and the glass-roof)
or
- 2nd gen Honda ciVic Shuttle "Beagle"

There are some really quirky Hondas out there. And I am happy to have seen a few of those (but sadly not from this list yet).

Is a citroen XM actually any kind of a good vehicle ?

I find pretty good word about it, i think it looks great and i find the prices insanely cheap around here, even for such an old vehicle

Short answer: Yes.

Long answer:

The XM is an incredibly well built car, particularly the earlier models (say before 1999), and they generally speaking never rust (particularly those before 1995). This build quality is actually even a bit unusual for Citroën, but somehow they pulled it off with the XM (they obviously started to slack on the quality during its later protection years, because money).

Secondly, you get the brilliant Hydroactive suspension, which gives incredibly ride comfort, while sticking to the road like a sports car. Sure, it's not as brilliant as the Xantia's Activa suspension, but the XM is a luxury vehicle first, not a sports car.

(Yes yes, I know that both the CX and DS had even more comfortable ride quality, but then we are talking about cars from the 1980s and 1970s/60s, respectively.)

But be warned when buying an XM. Avoid the diesel engines. Not just because you wouldn't be able to get a green sticker, but because they don't have a particularly good track record of staying in one piece. Particularly if the vehicle have done more than 200,000 km.

But hey, who would want a diesel one anyway? I've tried one, and it sounded like a tractor!

There are two V6 engines for the XM. There is the early 90 degrees one and the later ES9 V6 engine (they also threw that in the Xantia). Suffice to say, it's best to avoid the early V6 engine, because it tended to break its chain after 200,000 km. I mean, I've heard stories where it lasted longer, but also ones where it lasted shorter.

The ES9 engine, on the other hand, is bulletproof. They never fail. I've seen ones that have done over half a million km, and they still chug along.

The problem is though, when the V6 engine rose in quality, so did the production quality of the rest of the car lower. So if you find an XM with a ES9 V6 engine, it's best to get one from 1997 or 1998, anything later, you better be sure the seller has some good pictures of the car. 1997 is your best bet for an XM with a V6 engine.

I would covert whoever got an XM. I'd love one. Unfortunately, I don't really have room for more cars, what with my DS and my Xantia. And I'm afraid I might fill in the space with a S1 CX Prestige before the XM, but the XM is definitely high on my list!

I say, get an XM. It's a great vehicle, comfortable, smooth and great build quality.

I'll even do you a favour, if you find some XM listings online, I'll look through them for a quick judgement.

Kinda forgot i asked this question here.....silly me....but thanks for the info though....really helpful  :^:

I probably will not be buying a car myself anytime soon, though, even one that is quite as cheap were i live as this one.

Still have to go for a drivers license in 2 weeks and after that i still feel that even if i make it, it still is quite risky for me to buy myself a car when i still can drive the car my mom has, cutting down on insurance costs and the price of tanking the car :p

As years pass I find it harder to choose one particular car as my favorite. There's a lot I absolutely love, and would like to own. Though, if I had to choose one car out of my very long list, it'd be this:

Ferrari Daytona Spyder, in black, 5-spoke rims, with plexiglass headlight covers:

Ferrari_365_GTS-4_%27Daytona%27_Spyder_R

Might be generic, "HURR HURR FERRARI", but I absolutely love it. Yes, I fell in love with it when I first watched Miami Vice, and it's been on top of my list ever since.

Though, the on the show was fake and had wired rims, I still like it.

I always fail to appreciate just how bad a replica the Miami Vice car actually is. The basic body shape is about right but not one area of detail is even close to correct. Hilarious.

Ye some details are off a bit. In the first episode a real one was used, and it was supposed to be like that. Though they made small damages to it during filming so the owner asked for his car back.

real one:

Replica:

Though I think they're pretty close tbh.
