Little progress on the Emperor. In addition to the Emperor, there's two other vehicles in SA that I feel obligated to use this body for. Any guesses as to which two those are?b26nX1K.jpg

Looks really nice, always wanted one in SA, even started working on one, but as with most of my cars never finished it.

Can I possibly suggest something though; I think Brigham would be a really nice name for it, it's a name from GTA 1 for the same car, also the emperor is already used.

Got a little bit done on UV mapping and the trunk area. Should just need a rear bumper and ZModeler's UV mapping glitches fixed now.

No, the body was adapted from my '86 Premier which used the LVPD Cruiser as a base. It's a little hard to recognize now though. haha

I have not.

Having played a bit of Oblivion lately and coming to loathe the short range pop-in between low detail and high detail models, I decided to spend a little bit of time optimizing the chassis_vlo mesh since I needed to make one anyway. Once I got in game to test it, I realized I may have spent too much time on it as San Andreas loads the higher detail mesh from much further out. Anyway, the VLO mesh is a little over 900 triangles and save for the windows and wheels is 100% indistinguishable from the full quality mesh at the point the game transitions between them, even at 4K resolution.

A little bit more bug testing and a carcols line and it should be ready for release.

I suppose if you turned the resolution down to 640x480 or so and could disable the monitor's "smoothing" (blur) when upscaling you could achieve similar pixelated results.

Too easy of an edit for me to not make it. In addition to the 1990 Emperor Brigham, I'll also be releasing the 1987 Emperor Brigham. In case the differences aren't immediately noticeable: Quad sealed beam headlights, body color lower trim, and the landau top does not extend onto the rear doors. Packaging it up now, expect it to be up on GTAG under the same mod but as a separate file within the next 5-10 minutes.

EDIT:
Realized I never released the 86 Premier sedan and taxi that I finished a long time ago, so I just added those to the first post and put them up on GTAG.

You're fine to convert it on your own if you'd like, but I was planning on doing it later anyway.

Oh well, I suppose you can do it, I've taken a look at how the hierarchy is all set up in 3dsMax and damn, I'm getting lost in it lol. Ped bones are much easier to alter. 

 

Is that the Flatbed but turned into a military truck? :p

Needs the wheel size adjusted in the data lines. I'll have an update with the fix along with a better handling line within the next few days.

I was testing the Barracks yesterday, it is works fine but here is some feedback: You should make the front lights workable, the ones on the grill like vanilla Barracks instead of III/VC texture, doesn't have any SA license plates and reflections, only the windshield has but everything else looks so flat with and without skygfx. About the wheel size, it is looks fine on my game, I can live with that.

You know what annoyed me about the III and VC Barracks? They had open roofs. Like why would a military truck have that part exposed of all things? But that's just me.

Most M35s had canvas tops. For the most part these aren't combat vehicles and generally have no armor. I found the commercial truck looking cab of the SA model detracted from the militarized appearance of the truck. I might make a canvas top for it later
