Releasing Snapshot 3 in the summer of 2017 might be hard; should we delay some features for a later date, or delay Snapshot 3 entirely?

GTA: Underground is a mod which focusses on combining the maps from Rockstar's 3D universe. This means the GTA: Vice City, GTA: III, Manhunt, Manhunt II, and Bully maps will be implemented. Not only that, but it tries to implement all of the features these games offered aswell, in the same style as the original GTA: San Andreas content. This includes the vehicles, weapons, pedestrians, scripted features, interiors, shops, safehouses, weather, and much more.

GANGS FROM GTA: III, GTA: VICE CITY, MANHUNT AND MANHUNT II WITHOUT REPLACING ORIGINAL

GTA: Underground implements extra gangs into GTA: San Andreas which spawn in their respective cities. They also use their own weapons from the respective games aswell, and you can even take over their turfs. 

 

TRAFFIC IN EVERY CITY

Every city has it's own set of pedestrians and vehicles, which are converted from the respective games. The custom locations Atlantis and Mainland Liberty come with their very own unique set of pedestrians.

 

SHOPS AND SAFEHOUSES

Every city is fully loaded out with safehouses with custom interiors from their respective games which can be bought, and with shops where the player can purchase vehicle tuning parts, junkfood, clothes, and much more. These shops are also marked on the map!

 

INTERIORS

As stated above, we've implemented the interiors from the respective games. To make them feel more SA-styled, we've adapted all of the interiors to work with SA's enex system, which means custom entering/exiting animations.

 

2DFX AND BREAKABLE OBJECTS

All of the added maps also come with their own set of props, and even streetlights, signs, benches, and trash cans (and ofcourse more), and so we've made all of these custom objects breakable, and gave them all 2dfx, as seen in their respective games.

 

BUSINESSES

While spending time in Vice City or San Andreas, you are able to make money by purchasing assets from both games. Once you buy them, you can collect money from them by walking into a pickup.

 

ADDED VEHICLES, PEDS, AND WEAPONS

GTA: Underground also adds (not replaces) all of the vehicles from their respective games, and they can be modified at tuning garages, and the added vehicles will even have unique abilities such as sirens, moving engine parts, and jet gears. Plus, all of them are redone to fit in SA. Added weapons can be bought from Ammu-Nation stores in added cities, and added peds can be seen roaming their home city.

 

AIRPLANE TICKET SYSTEM

Too lazy to fly to a different city? No problem! GTA: Underground updates the airplane ticket system so it will allow you to purchase plane tickets to and from these added locations. 

 

UNIQUE WANTED LEVEL SYSTEM

GTA: Underground not only adds vehicles, it will also let the correct law enforcement agencies from their respective games (in Bullworth's case we use custom stuff) chase you when you have a wanted level! Another cool feature we've added in is the Vice Squad agency, which will chase you when you have a 3 star wanted level in Vice City.

 

SOLID ROOFTOPS AND BUILDINGS IN VICE CITY AND LIBERTY CITY

Since in GTA: III and GTA: Vice City a lot of the buildings were simply not solid at the rooftops, we've updated all of the rooftops so that they are and will be solid. In some places we even added extra detail and props to give these rooftops some new life!

 

ADDED CHEAT CODES

We've also added a bunch of extra cheat codes from their respective games to let the player have some fun!

 

VEHICLE SPAWNER PROVIDED

GTA: Underground is shipped with a vehicle spawner which allows the player to spawn every single vehicle from the game, including the added vehicles.

Cottonmouth (Manhunt II, the levels will be used and connected to form a city based on New Orleans)

Mainland Liberty (Chicago parody)

Dunsfold (Small island west of San Andreas, which will be a military base)

Atlantis (A parody of Atlanta. A prototype was added to older versions. A future version will feature a complete map)

Unofficial patch by Crspy which includes the newest ExGangWars (which fixes frequent random crashes if you attacked gang turfs and a gang then tries to attack yours) and the small patch for lag in Portland which was released by Pieeer in the past, but is quite hard to find.

 

Doesn't need 2.2.0.1, it only needs 2.2.

Before installing

Downgrading your GTA: San Andreas copy (only required if you purchased the game on Steam)

If you are trying to install GTA: Underground on a Steam copy of GTA: San Andreas and have not downgraded the game yet, you should first download the downgrader here

 

Installing software which can open and extract RAR archives

In order to install the mod, make sure you have software installed which can open and extract RAR archives. These files can contain files and folders and compress them, making it easy to ship the mod files. I personally use WinRar.

 

Get the HOODLUM 1.0 US crack 

Since this is pretty hard to find, and not everyone wants to search for it, I've uploaded it here. You will need this regardless of your GTA: San Andreas version, keep in mind that other cracks may not work.

 

Installation instructions

Once you downgraded your GTA: San Andreas copy if needed, and installed software which can extract RAR archives, follow these steps carefully:

  1. Optional: Since it requires lots of work to introduce support for multiple GTA: San Andreas versions, we currently only support the 1.0 US version. If you are using a Steam copy, you must downgrade it using the downgrader I linked above. 
  2. Optional: It is also recommended to create a backup of your GTA: San Andreas copy.
  3. Optional: Install software which can open and extract RAR archives. I personally recommend WinRar, and I provided a download link above.
  4. Open the RAR archive you just downloaded, and extract all of the files inside the archive to your GTA: San Andreas installation folder, and if it asks you to replace any files, select Replace all files
  5. Once the RAR archive has been extracted, copy the 1.0 US HOODLUM crack into the GTA: San Andreas folder, and replace the old gta_sa.exe file.
  6. Done!

If you run into any problems, please open a new topic on this board. If the game crashes, you will see this window:

If this window appears, then it is important that you don't take a screenshot of this message box. In order to fully solve your problem, it is recommended that you make sure you have a copy of your log file, and update that. Here's what we recommend you to do when you are reporting a crash:

  • Click on the OK button once this message appears, then rename the fastman92limitAdjuster.log file to something other than fastman92limitAdjuster.log. Then you can go to pastebin.com and copy paste the contents of the renamed file in a new paste. If you run the game after you renamed the log file, it will overwrite the original, non renamed file. This is why you should not run the game if you did not rename the log file.
  • Or, you can also not run the game untill you reported this crash, and after that you can run the game :)

Ofcourse, we are working on a new system which will be more user friendly, and will probably not require you to upload anything, as crash logs may be sent to us directly. Since we do not have systems in place, it's best to follow our recommendations. 

 

Known problems with Snapshot 2.2 (and fixes for some)

There are problems with train traffic in San Andreas, and the trains in Liberty City don't spawn - We released a small patch (2.2.0.1) which addresses this issue. Perhaps you installed Snapshot 2.2 and didn't install this small patch.

The game randomly crashes if I start taking over gang turfs - This problem has been fixed in a new ExGangWars version, and has been fixed in Snapshot 3. For now, you can install the unofficial patch which fixes this issue.

 

 

 

Information on the later comming GTA UNDERGROUND MP (SAMP ADAPTION 0.3.7)

 

 
Firstoff the Development of the UG-MP is currently very slow so we are not expecting to be releasing it prior to mid 2018 if not later so please be patient.
 
 
We will have a ip whitelist system for the client
 
It is our goal to first create own Official GTA Underground MP servers which exists out of first one RP and one Multimode server with different roundbased Gamemodes taking place in all Cities.
The servers will be patched to be capeable to have more than the current maximum playerslots which is i believe 1000 to 5000 if not 10000 players or higher if possible.
All the content from the singleplayer containing vehicles,weapons etc will be available in the MP.
 
 
Not everyone can just create/host a server just like that
 
We are assure of that there will be many other communities like russian rp servers and other popular servers that would greatly expand their script to use the whole Underground Map.
Therefore people will be able to write an apply for being whitelisted in the Client on our soon opening Official Forum. ( means their server gets shown in the servertab ).
 
It wont be possible to host a server by your own even when you got the server files noone will be able to join the server tho we are planning to make it so that you will be able to create a server for GTA Underground.
This means only you/host IP will be able to join on your homehosted server noone else will be able to see the server on the client tab nor can join by entering the server ip since the Client will check if connecting IP is whitelisted or not.
If the IP is not whitelisted the client will decline the connect and give an error message that this isnt an Whitelisted server and cant be connected to.
 
 
Reason
 
You may ask yourself why we do this.The simple reason doing it is to prevent empty/copypaste/boring/yadayada servers.
Again please respect this decision as its basically for the players best and that we dont get a SAMP 2.0 with many empty copy paste servers where its hard to find good servers to play on.
Who wants to play on an empty/5 Player copy paste RP server on such a big map when he can play on a proper scripted server with many Players on that big map.

The plans described are planned features for Snapshot 3 which are planned down - which means they are pretty big features and so having an explanation on how exactly we want to implement them is needed.

Bullworth gameplay elements

Here's the final concept on how the gameplay mechanics around Bullworth would work. It seems like most people want me to add the "wanted level when hitting children" concept, so that's what we're going with.

 

The concept describes how we could still implement this feature with still giving the player the choice to kill them or not.

My game is crashing when I close it, what's wrong?!

That's a known error which should be resolved in versions after Snapshot 2.2.

I get random crashes after taking over gang turfs! How to fix it?

Install the latest ExGangWars version. It fixes the bug.

Will you add GTA: IV/GTA:V maps to UG?

Obviously not. The project only adds the 3D era maps.

Will my GTA: San Andreas savegames work?

No, they won't. GTA: Underground uses a seperate directory in the Documents folder, and any savegames from SA will simply not work.

My game is lagging in Portland, how to fix it?

Wait for Snapshot 3, or download an unofficial patch which contains the fix we uploaded. 

My game is crashing right after I clicked "Start game" on the very beginning of the loading process, what's wrong?

Take a look at your DEP settings, try to set it to "Essential Windows programs only". You shouldn't set it to anything else for security reasons.

Is Snapshot 3 the final version?

No, it is the final snapshot before the first beta release, beta 1.0.

You really should make police bikes for VCPD and LCPD... so that way they are more inline with SA in terms of features

You really should make police bikes for VCPD and LCPD... so that way they are more inline with SA in terms of features

We'd like to modify VCPD Patrol Car to a LCPD Cruiser from GTA III with different textures.

Thanks, its not finished by far, I need to add empire building locations, icons, and much much more. There must be gang AI wars, and the roaming gangs are just the beginning. The script has to spawn menus, the player must be able to set up heists, co-operations, drug deals, and you can hire a bodyguard. It'll be charged every IG hour, and will protect the player. I'd like to do more then just empire building, for example, kidnapping, escorting, and more. You would be able to prevent a wave of business takeovers, by kidnapping an enemy gang member for information, and you could be able to prevent an enemy attack.

Endless possiblities. 

It'll be like VCS: Empire Building, but with different versions per city region. For example, you can do gang turf wars in LS, and set up business in SF, LV, LC and VC. Haitians and Cubans could have scripted gang wars, which you can intercept, and help 1 gang out. If the player does so, the gang like will go up, more and more. Later you could start drug deals with them. Anyways, other ways to earn money could be:

Street racing, motor stunting, and many other side missions, like: Help criminals escape and act as their getaway driver. Be able to plan heists like in GTA:V and buy cars at shops around the map. 

More and more ideas can be realised. Now, if only we had a scripter to code these ideas in, besides myself, as I'm not the best at scripting.

VCPD police bike is no problem, the VCS model is already done.

VCPD police bike is no problem, the VCS model is already done.

You're going to work with Jinx, he's also working on weapons. It's not good to have two people doing the same weapons seperately. You're getting someone to work with.

I didnt inform you about HazzardX (Now //XP//) being the secondairy project leader.

He decides about the Storyline, so he decides what has to be done.

 

I'll inform you by PM.

Progress update:

We have added new things!

We added VC weapon pickups, parked cars, and hospital/police stations.

We added the same stuff for SA, we managed to add SA stunt jumps, hospitals/police stations, bribes, oysters, and other stuff. Also, main.scm will spawn the player in Grove Street. A Hydra also spawns on top of Sweets house. This makes it possible to fly to VC without cheats.

Ped/gang zones for SA. It's possible to find Ballas, Grove Street, and other gangs roaming the streets.

 

But, we have more!

VC and III gangs will be converted by Mario.

We will have custom ones, but, we cannot do R* styled cutscenes.

We will try to import them, we're waiting on fastman92 to complete his path merger tool. We also made progress on LC:

 

Stauton Island converted - All TXDs, COLs, DFFs, IDE/IPLs are now in SA format.

Only issue: Generics around LC matching names with SA. We will get around this.

 

Its one of JJ's (Jingles) mistakes. He forgot about a duplicate checker.
