That's mental. I wonder if it's just casual fans heading to see comedy and then get overwhelmed when they might be part of the race or group of people in the butt of the joke or what? They must be casual because I just can't see a normal fan stand-up getting offended like that and walking out. These people laugh when it's a joke about anybody else but when it comes to them they cry. It's funny all the same. Lopez wasn't even taking any prisoners here which is a bit of a shame. Some heckler roasting wouldn't have gone amiss.

I like so many different comedians.. I don't have a favorite. It's impossible for me to choose.

Earlier I was watching some Chris Rock...

Nice one ^ Look forward to that.

Can't remember if we discussed it but did anyone else see Bill Burr's most recent special on Netflix? Man, he's on top of his game.

His rant on Kanye West was amazing. I couldn't stop laughing for solid 10 minutes.

I love The Diceman.

I don't find this offensive at all, you gotta learn to laugh at yourself every once in a while.

I like to laugh at Dice not with him :p  I think he's humour is not offensive, just sh*t. I mean it's the kinda thing you'd hear when you are in school when you were 11 or 12 and he built a career on it. Having said that the guy is an enigma. He's appearance on Tom Green and that news show he walked off were hilarious. I also keep meaning to check out his new show.

EDIT: I didn't realise for a long time that the Diceman is a character and he's just become it over time. I have more respect for him now.

Holy sh*t I've just discovered this one :

youtube.com/watch?v=3jMhoGUiIkk

that's a legendary show.

back when Opie and Anthony still had their Traveling Virus show touring around the country, they would bring comics along from New York and Boston, and the fans of the show (the O&A satellite radio show) always played favorites. they would all love one comedian and they would all hate another. this is back when Bill was new to the show and coming into his own for the first time in his career so the fans decided they hated him. the moment he was introduced they just boo'ed the everloving sh/t out of him for no reason.

but instead of taking on individual hecklers or leaving the stage, Bill fired back by roasting the entire city of Philly; and it worked. I've never seen a comic do that before. taking on the entire room. the whole city. for the remainder of his entire set he just told them how TERRIBLE they are as human beings... until the hatred turned into love. incredible performance.

Not sure if this was posted. I've watched it 3 times all ready. There's some gold in there and some real insight to the minds of 4 of the greatest comics: Ricky Gervais, Louis CK, Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock.

I like a more satirical comedy but I cannot sit there and watch Stand Up.  Doesn't help when so many comedians push their liberal agenda down people's throats, big turn off

Great video of the late great George Carlin on Chris Rock's show.

EDIT: And f*ck me. Ellen Degeneres absolutely killing it on Johhny Carson. I knew she could be funny but I suppose never knew she started off doing stand up.

C.K. responding to the accusations, saying "these stories are true":

https://www.nytimes....-statement.html

I bet he'll come out of this fine, in the long run. People are responding really well to his response. Turns out sexual misconduct is totally cool if you just fess up to it and acknowledge the disproportionate power dynamic therein  :whuh:

weird how he decided the moment it really blew up to suddenly be genuinely sorry for it

Louis CK handled this very well. And as mr quick says, I think he'll come out OK in the long run. I mean, was anyone actually surprised by Louis CK's actions? I mean he practically goes to those places in his shows I wondered what would happen if allegations about Jim Norton came out. I think we would probably roll our eyes. Not if there's injured parties of course, just because we all know Norton is a sleazeball but he's very open about it.

In CK's letter, it really reads like his words. They seem sincere and genuine. Hopefully he'll move on and hopefully the women can now feel they get some justice and closure on this.

Will Louis be able to do stand-up like he did before though? I'm not sure he will be so confident to go to certain places he went before. When the storm calms down and Louis returns (and I hope he returns) I can imagine him going in to writing and directing a bit more. I mean the stand-up is too close to home, it's almost impossible to separate the artist from the art when you are doing stand-up. At least with TV or film he can channel his writing and though other characters and put a little distance between himself and the raw, in-the-first-person delivery of stand-up.

Also, Dave Chappelle is another favorite of mine. Always thought he was a clever stand up
