Any ideas if the updater will be available to download as a standalone installer?
I've got three PCs to update, it'd be nice if I could download it once and save myself some bandwidth usage (hooray 100GB per month limit)

I read you can download the update and choose when to install it, maybe it's some .iso file you can easily transfer around :p Then again the download itself might be tied to your Windows license, I have no idea. I haven't even gotten the option yet on my Windows 7 desktop. :(

I'm being offered it on my computer and laptop. It looks pretty good, but still unsure if it will have probelms such as lags and bugs etc.

You don't have to upgrade right away you'll have until July 2016 to upgrade

Mobile phones are receiving the W10 update as well, yes? Anybody know if the Lumia 640 will get it? Since it's coming to T-Mobile soon, I'm kinda interested.

I'll install Windows 10 as soon as it's released. It's high time I reinstalled the OS, it's been a while since I did that.

I'll install it on my laptop as soon as it's available. It's currently running 8.1 and I feel pretty much anything would be an upgrade from that. Then I'll upgrade my gaming desktop which is running 7 if I like it and there are no huge bugs or issues with it.

I'm going to upgrade as long as it doesn't break any of my programming tools or SDK's. Tried it on a Surface Pro 3 with Office 16 and it's great.

Just started using the final versions of the Windows 10 beta on my Win8 laptop.  I figured anything must be better than Windows 8.  So far, I really like it.  It's very well polished.  However, I don't have a genuine version of Windows 7 on my desktop, so I don't think I'll be paying the $109 for an official upgrade.  It's great, but not mind-blowing enough for me to justify upgrading from Windows 7.

How is the web browser? Is it decent? How is it compared to Chrome or Firefox?

Oh, you mean Microsoft Edge?  Yep, no more Internet Explorer.  YES!  lol

It's actually very fast and much easier on the eyes than Chrome or Firefox.  It's all I've been using since I've had Windows 10.  However, if you enjoy using a lot of plug-ins, I don't think there's going to be much support for it yet.

Ah, that was to be expected. The only add-on I really use is AdBlock, though. Hopefully they'll release something for Edge (thanks for the name reminder, btw :D).

I'm not going to switch to Edge as long as it's still reliant on third party plugins for multimedia support. Three unpatched vulnerabilities in browser plugins being used right now in attack activity, two in Flash and one in Java. At least with Chrome you've got a sandbox stuff like Java sit inside and which the attackers need an additional exploit to escape. As far as I can tell Flash and Java in Edge currently sit outside the sandbox which sort of defeats the point.

Flash needs to die in a hole. Their weekly sacks of polyfilla into that quicksand pit is a joke. Its woefully inefficient and a gaping sore in the software world.

99.999999% of issues could be sorted by simply having right click to play set as default for plugins in web browsers. But yeah, Flash is a bag of sh*t that's fundamentally insecure in its architecture.

My latest version of Firefox has actually started actively blocking Flash.

On one hand, it's annoying because a lot of websites are dependent on it.  On the other hand, good riddance!
