Maybe txds? Try using magic.txd and mass convert to SA version. In Vice City, at least, no txd = no model ;)

You were right, the problem was bad texture conversion through lcstxdconv.exe, and save as SA from Txd Workshop wasn't enough.

The solution: convert android txds to VC through "lcstxdconv in.txd out.txd", then convert from VC to SA through "txdconv.exe out.txd out2.txd".

Anyway, glad It worked. I'm converting this for VC and I had some problems too ;)

storiesconv.exe only works for models (dff or mdl), not textures.

 

.chk is PS2 textures. ;)

Yes, that happened to me too.

 

First detect which models cause the crash (i only had one model, i guess you too, specially if you are converting LCS map like me).

Delete half IPL entries in the file that correspond the zone causing the crash. Discard those elements if crashing stops. Reduce your items until you find the bugged model.

 

If you are converting LCS like me, probably we have the same bugged model, that is ---> landpart100.dff

Go to suburb.ipl and comment that line, test.

 

Once you have found the bugged element, you can correct it with a simple 3DS Max edit, it worked for me! :happy:

Import with Kam's script, export with deniska script (you could use Kam for export too, but don't forget to activate the Vcol option or your model will lose its vertex paint (enviroment light/shadow effect), and even with Vcol activated, sometimes the model can look too bright, deniska dff exporter solves that with geometry light box unchecked).

It's quite possible the models contain unused materials, this will crash the game. I think I fixed it already but maybe I didn't release the fixed version?

Well, I import and export every single model in 3ds Max. (Basically there are some double faces and Alpha Bugs caused by material order which I'll have to fix - Original LCS Bug). I use saggeaman's Importer/Exporter.

Specifically, suburb crashes the game. I'm gonna check that landpart out. Commer, Indust and Leedsbits crash just after starting a new game mid-gameplay. So... yeah... I'm working on Vice City

Then... Can I extract all dffs from PS2 (without converting none) and put them on PC and will work? I didn't know that.

Yes, the only models that you can't use from PS2 III are the skinned ones, i.e. cutscene heads. Not because they're in PS2 format but because they're too old for RW 3.3 as used by PC III.

Really? That's really interesting, i used your renederware file converter to convert all PS2 cars to PC.. So it actually wasn't necessary to do that :D

 

EDIT: Great, i just put all files from the GTA 3 IMG into the modloader folder and it works just fine also the broken textures(MTXD) from the PS2 Map are now fixed :D

I replaced the original SMG's model using the PC version putting in the PS2 version. I know how to create a ISO, I did some texture mods using the TxdGen.

I have a problem. I can't find a way to convert xbox peds and player. I use xboxdeecompress and convdff, but when I import it in 3ds max is says 'No '"+"' function for undefined'
