Anyone else notice the brightness changing depending on elements on the screen? At first I thought it was my TV auto-adjusting for contrast or something. But after exporting an video and watching it elsewhere I realized it was the actual game.

I never really noticed this before until I got a new TV and became very anal on finding details like this. It seems the cars passing by make the game dim and brighten all depended on I'm assuming headlights. If you watch the sky closely you'll see it dim and brighten and often times flicker. I'm noticing more of this now when I'm driving.

Did the PS3 very do this?

Here's a clip I took. A bit long but shows my point.

Try going to
Setting -> Display -> In-Game Depth of Field Effects
And then turn that off it might be what your looking for

No, that's the in-focus effect, the OP is correct that there seems to be some contrast balancing in-game, I've noticed it more on XB1 than I did on 360. Try looking around in dark places with a few bright lights, you'll see the effect quite clearly there.

Obviously it also makes sense to make sure that your TV is acting "dumb" and not doing any auto post-processing on that channel - that's a common problem.
