GTA3 will not install on Windows 7

Best Answer Barciur, 30 November 2014 - 10:44 PM

I tried it over and over, tried in safe mode, no avail. Other GTA is VC and it worked well, SA is on Steam.

Anyway, I decided to just pay $2.50 on STEAM's promo for it and it works from there and not bother with the CD. My loss but not too bad so I'll live with that. ;)

Hello

I've had GTA3 since it came out and I was running it on Windows 2000 and then XP up until I upgraded to Windows 7 just past month. However, I have not been able to install GTA3. A weird error pops up during installation:

I tried in every single compatibility mode, run as admin and to no avail.

Any ideas?

I have GTA III on both Windows 7 and XP. And both work fine.

Did you try the installation again? And does other GTA games install properly?
