Since the trails option has been implemented on the latest version of III/VC SkyGFX, is it possible to add a toggle function which removes the heathaze effect from the trails? (Like Sharptrails so I don't need to have another asi just to remove the haze effect)

Oh no, is that time of the year again where people requests more stuff that already exists. Just use sharptrails renamed to trails or whatever, as you said. Another ASI plugin will not hurt your GTA installation.

I don't even know what this heat haze effect is supposed to be. TAG and I removed various stuff in sharptrails because it looked strange, but I can't recall any sort of heat haze.

@The Hero, I think I was referring to the Motion Blur effect and I got it confused with heat haze.

Hello everyone!

 

(Short introduction wich you can skip)

I've been playing GTA III and Vice City lately, using the GInput mod so I could play with my Xbox360 controller. I finished both games and now I wanted to try San Andreas, since I never played it again after my first run (so many years ago). I didn't know that GInput wouldn't work unless I downgrade the game, and so I learned that there were many other mods to apply so the game would run and look much better.

 

(Now the real question)

 

So, I've followed the steps on a YouTube tutorial and everything seems to be working nice now except for a couple things. The problem is that I installed 5-6 mods with the downgrader and I don't know how to solve this problems.

 

First one is the map in the menu not working. I go into the map and I can scroll through the map, I can't zoom in and out or place a mark neither. Not like a BIG problem, but would be better if I could fix it somehow.

 

And then the REAL problem, because it makes me dizzy, there is like a ghost lineout mostly everywhere. I don't know how to call it so I couldn't really find info to fix it (I've been reading hundreds of posts here tho).

I've searched on ReadMe and FAQs and I changed some settings to 0 (Radiancy or something like that) and it was a bit better but this "ghosts" would still be there, everywhere. On pedestrians, buildings, CJ, chairs, mugs, lightposts... Wouldn't be much of a problem but as I've said before, it makes me a bit dizzy and it hurts my eyes =(

 

Sooooo, sorry if this has been posted, asked or answered before I couldn't find it, and thanks for any advice!

It's only in VC. The heat haze effect that is visible on car exhaust after some burn-outs or just driving some time. Also the effect when you use flamethrower.
It's a bit glitchy because some weird part of that effect appear at the center of the screen, but looks like it's a poor try from R* to implement hot road effect when you see kind of mirage at the horizon.

Over a year later and it's still helpful :p

Hi it's Vince with Disable Blur, you're gonna be in a great mood all day cause you're gonna be disabling your SA blur away, now here's a config, copy one, disable overall edge blur...

blurLeft= 0
blurTop= 0
blurRight= 0
blurBottom= 0


Copy two, disable big radiosity blur...

radiosityFilterPasses=0

Now here take a second look at this, don't forget to remove the ; otherwise the setting will be ignored

And there's the blur removed in what, 4, 5 seconds it's done!

That's is a nice effect btw.
I would love to see it on GTA San Andreas :)

There's a need for "ps2WheelSplash=1"

Also, when on-foot those 'high' splashes appear in skygfx on PC only when sprinting, but on PS2 they appear when just running too.

Trails still don't work on VC, The option does show up, but when I activate it, all it does is show transparent black boxes where the heat effect is supposed to be at. Sharptrails just makes the screen black (excluding the menus and hud), and renaming sharptrails to just trails just slightly darkens the atmosphere, but with 2.7, trails with sharptrails renamed to trails doesn't do anything. No black boxes, no black screen, no darker atmosphere.

i have not seen this trails effect in vc before and its not shown in Debug Menu at all...

That's the only place where TRAILS is mentioned in Skygfx.ini..
so what kind of which kind of trails are you all talking about...?

THB i hate that trails feature by rockstar it ate my FPS in GTA3...

Neopipe is not compatible with MVL Dynamic Shadows.

Hope you fix that......

MVL author states that it's incompatible with many mods, I doubt it's something The Hero has to fix within skygfx.
