How long did that take to build? I still have mine in the box, just want to know how much time I have to put aside.

A true Lego fan knows not to set certain time for building....

Dammit, now I'm sad I didn't take photos of the nice retro roadster I made with the chassis from one of the Lego Speed Racer cars, which I then re purposed into an awesome black muscle car with blower, which I then turned into a mercedes like car with a functioning hood and trunk.

Nice cars Winning, I had a load of hand-me-down Lego but I still never had enough to make cars of such consistent colours as that. How did you acquire the Lego, was it starter packs or do you order specific pieces online? (I've heard the latter is really expensive)

@unbid: There seems to be a Pontiac that has snuck its way onto that otherwise very European scene:

Spoiler

It's a shame what happened to my Lego collection: when I was a teenager there was this 3 or 4 year old kid who came around and wanted the cars I had designed myself. At this point I was more than happy to give him my whole Lego box but he insisted on taking just the cars, I really didn't want to only let the cars go because that's not in the spirit of Lego: you're gonna need all the other pieces too if you want to make something new and interesting.

Alas my parents forced me to hand them over leaving me with scraps of Lego which were really good and varied but insufficient to use by themselves, unfortunately I fear those scraps may have been thrown away at some point, I hope they at least made it to a charity shop or something. :(

@epoxi: some Germans do have 'Murican cars. I even found someone who own an E-Series van in Berlin:

Also, I still have tons of pictures from Miniatur Wunderland, but dunno if I should add them here or not

most of the pieces came from various creater sets and other lego sets I acquired since the late 90's  (most of which were gifts). I never ordered legos online. I just took parts from those sets and made new things out of them :)

Lego sets I get now are the architecture sets and large model cars (there's a lego store within driving distance but i may order some i like online)

I have more custom lego cars, but not in consistent colours (they were made years and years ago). I have been trying to part them and create more cars with consistent paint

@unbid: Feel free to post them if you spoiler tag them (just don't post like 100+ because that will just kill everyone's bandwidth/computers, best to link to an album in that case).

I never really thought about the imported cars, I suppose in mainland Europe it's more straightforward because they have LHD, whereas in England US-market cars are very rare.

Great photos unbid. I love the variety from the breaking of the Berlin wall, to surreal ant-attacks on the city.

This one is remarkable:

Yeah I still have tons of my old Micro Machines. I really love the very small scale stuff (although more accurate than Micro Machines ever were).

I have various 1/144 scale diecast hot rods and such, some awesome 1/100 scale Kyosho Ferraris, some 1/87 stuff, and some other very small scale stuff.

I've been meaning to expand my 1/87 collection a bit with some of the Spark and Trumpeter Le Mans cars but every time I seem to find some up for reasonable prices I have no extra money.

As you wish:

I wish I could go there, it looks like such an awesome place. I saw an episode of "How It's Made" about that place where they showed a lot of the stuff in the background and it was really interesting. I particularly liked how all the little moving vehicles automatically drive themselves to a charging station to be recharged through the contacts in their wing-mirrors when they get low on batteries.

I'm not really a diehard fan of toy cars, but I still check the toy isle for any cool models, mainly American classics. I've had some of these for about 9 years & others for only a couple months. Apologies for the awful quality, took them on my phone:

It used to be in great condition, but sadly it got roughed up pretty bad by my younger cousins, much like some other ones of mine. I found an image on the internet of what it used to look like:
