 Hello everyone!

   I am here to create a topic about me converting the gta3.img textures to the PS2's version :D

Well wish me luck to convert the textures and I am also wondering if there are more people that are also converting the textures too :O

Notes: Anyway, since the gtagarage support ticket ain't responding to me fast enough (I truly keep refreshing and yes very long), I will release my v0.1a of TXD files through Mediafire and sorry for the wait! If you guys prefer that I leave a download link for the gta3.img itself, then just let me know ^_^

 

Disclaimer: Be sure to leave a  backup version of your gta3.img to make sure if you did any mistake or if something is wrong to back you up! After you have download it through the link, be sure to report to me about bugs/errors/unloaded textures if you found any of them after replacing the TXDs!

 Without further a do, enjoy this mod with the PS2 textures converted by me :)

I am amazed how most of the textures were different when i converted them.

Well I can get more pictures of the differences if you guys want :)

Well of course, haven't you played the PS2 version?

The Textures are all low resolution and not that clear and yeah PC's texture are suppose to look better since it came later than the PS2's version :)

To me, I think PS2's version has a great feel with its textures XD

I have done the whole LS which have I think about 428 TXD files.

Now I'm on my way to do SF ^_^

First thing first, is it wrong for anyone to do it again?

Second, I checked his mod a few months ago and I see a total of 473 files?

 Isn't it suppose to be like 2674 TXDs files and yeah when I converted the Textures all over again with this mod...

Some of them are not even complete and are missing so I am doing this for fun or to test but if I am missing something from that mod then please tell what is it. :)

Anyway, can anyone find the PS2 version of zombtest1.txd?

I tried searching it but can't find it but here is what is in that TXD file (PC version):

rockstar merged some txds on the ps2,so you wont find all the txds on the ps2 img

Is this TXD even used? Bo'Ness Iron seems to have been an actual real-life metal works company in the UK until some time last decade, so I'm assuming these are some raw textures for a test, as the file name states.

Haha, I might post a few pictures daily but here is one of the pavements difference which is quite odd for Rockstar to change :/ but it is back thanks to the PS2 txds, it now makes sense!  ;)

im looking forward to download your mod, i used the other one but it had graphical bugs and the marked billboards were a nightmare

Looks nice with PS2's ones. San Fierro looks like R* did it very rushed, on all versions have different textures: PS2, Xbox, PC, Mobile.

 One of the texture in GTA SA PS2 was fixed in the PC version and it is the Ammunation sign at Idlewood.

I think it would be better if I go with the PS2 version although it only says ''Ammu - Ammu -'' which looks funny to me haha. XD

Well guys,

I got a question.

Do you want me to release an alpha version of gta3.img of only Los Santos that has been converted?

Because it would help me to see if there are any bugs and unloaded textures founded with my progress of Los Santos :)

If you wondering why only LS then well because I am working on other places in San Andreas as well and it takes time so sorry if I am doing it late but just tell me what you think if I should release an alpha version of Los Santos or not :)

I'm thinking of releasing the img itself so you guys don't have to do the txd files by yourself and keep in mind it's Los Santos only.

I'm thinking of releasing it on GTAgarage?

Is that a good idea?

Well, when I put the release of it on gtagarage, I will tell and leave you guys a link to it ^_^

it's better to release only the textures,so you don't have to upload almost a 1gb thing and the ones that download the mod don't have to replace the files that they had installed

 

now there's modloader and spark overwrites old files when others with the same name are added

gtagarage can take a while, upload it to mediafire, dropbox, mega or something. 

 

and yeah, for me both releases (img or txd's only) would work. but im sure there are people who want the files seperately because they have other mods in their img

Yeah, I'm giving all you guys an alpha version which only includes LS and to see if there are any unloaded textures :)

If you can, post those pictures of bugs here.

If there are no bugs or glitches then perfect :D

i got it to test for a few minutes and it worked fine, no bugs/unloaded textures whatsoever!
