San Andreas: BETA Edition is a modification for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (obviously) with the goal of returning all cut features in development (at least, what is known and/or is possible).

 

All information comes from several sources:
BradyGames' Strategy Guide
Official Pre-Release Screenshots
Left-over files

 

I don't plan to make anything which has little to no proof of its existence in the Alpha/Beta stages of the game's development.
That means no rideable Trams, no Alcatraz, no smaller & blue parachute, etc.

Will there ever be a beta mod that contains beta map? I mean the map that can be found in UFO caffes. It haves Alcatraz and many rivers aren't present

That would be neat. Hell, you could even see the same map in Toreno's house. It would be nice to have a legit prison in San Andreas, especially since odds are it would already have a prison since Sweet was, you know, in one for 3/4 of the game's story.

how about the beta Uzi from VC? it was seen in a trailer where CJ dual wields... would be easy to add with the inclusion of the Weapon Limit Adjuster... or you can find a way yourself

Maybe it's part of something they don't want you to know...


But yeah, I don't see why the Alcatraz can't be included. It is part of the beta, no use in denying it isn't.

If you do include it please don't name the place Alcatraz, you know stuff in the GTA Universe usually have made up names like the Statue of Happiness or Vinewood, you got the idea. Maybe "Gant Island Penitentiary" or "San Andreas Federal Prison" or something like that.

Isn't this a anchored ship? I heard about this alcatraz story, but apart from a low res lefover map picture, there are any solid evidence?


I don't think it's a ship. Not only it's bigger than the ship on the current minimap but wasn't there another ship marked on the map a little to the east?

I think they're part of the Boat School missions(?), for example on top of the image above the closest buoy you can see a little triangle (like the bottom of an enex), but I'll look into it tomorrow, thanks :)

Also, sorry for the lack of progress, I've been trying my hand at scripting for the past few days, but it didn't really turn out that well :p, the only "scripts" I've made are the Adrenaline pickups, replacing Ryder's Picador with a Sadler, and replacing Pulaski's beige Buffalo with a black Sentinel.

I'll try to upload BETA 1 (yes, a BETA of a BETA :p) tomorrow, if not then, then the day after, just gotta look over some stuff and make sure everything's working well, or I haven't forgotten anything in the packing files. I'll also post a checklist along with the download link when I do upload it. :^:

@Kalvin your main.scm should be based on TTDISA main, because Deezire use unused dialogues, and restore many pickups, cars and even PS2 rampages.

There wasn't, actually. I just found out, it's just a random reskin someone listed as "BETA Toreno" on GTAWiki, therefore I won't include him in the release, my ignorance astounds me, luckily that's the only thing I missed, the rest are from legitimate sources.

Also behind the woman, there are two other unused peds. I don't think they will be converted though, since their details are pretty hard to see.

I've been a fan on beta mod topics and i've found every thread of them on gtaforums since 2007. Unfortunately, most of them died, halted or just completely abandoned forever(like TTDISA). Anyways, I saw this thread of yours and you have been making some progress lately.
