I said this months ago and had lots of idiots jumping down my neck. Plenty of other games offered a discount if you bought the new gen version, Rockstar won't though. They are far too greedy.

Voted no, because we are talking real world... First wave of release upgrades/discounts were paid for by Sony/MS. Business and economics says they wont be offering discounts open to all the multimillions of people that brought it on ps3/xbox.

What I think we should and more than likely will get, is some bonus stuff though.

I think some "cool" exclusive stuff AND some GTA$ (500k-1mill) would be a nice thank you for being part of what we all know deep down is a form of beta.

what, so sony MS actually paid the devs the money they "missed" by these "discounts"?

cuz tbh that's bullsh*t!

I mean the whole reason this discount makes sense in the first place is because it's not a completely new product

it's not like I should pay full price again because they're not paying full dev costs either.

to me it feels like having to buy a whole new car cuz I want a respray and some upgrades

than again, why do I continue to be surprised by things like these

GREEDY BASTARDS! XD

I agree that it's not likely that they'll offer any discount but that isn't really the question.
Do you legitimately believe that it SHOULD be priced at full cost?
Business ethics towards consumers is largely irrelevant these days but I think that's pretty sad. Consumers pour so much of their cash into "updated", half-assed technological gadgets with very little thought as to whether it's actually worth the price tag that it's allowed corporations to get away with a "little-as-possble" mentality in regards to their products.
Imo, it's bad for the technological advancement of our society in general.

Just look at recent remasters like metro redux and the last of us they are accurately priced for the amount of content.
I think rockstar will offer a discount,
More likely for digital purchases.

I voted 'No' but only on the assumption that they include some enticing additional content like opening the casino, some new SP storyline and a small island with its own town and landing strip.

If it does turn out to be exactly the same game but with better graphics, new animals, more traffic etc (as I'm aware a lot of people think it will be) then it would be a nice touch for them to offer some sort of loyalty discount, but I very much doubt that.

Personally I expect to pay the full price but will be willing to do that. I just hope that they make some significant improvements too. :)

I think digital they could and should, I was talking about the oldskool system of everything from disc making, packing, printing, distributing etc etc, all that costs the same regardless of what's on the disc. That said, overheads are no doubt huge and if LoU and Meyro remasters recently came out cheaper on disc too, id say it is likely the price will be in the same ball park.

Well, I got more in my last two days of Minecraft on the Xbox One than I ever did on the 360, and I know I never would've got it on X1 if it was the full $20, so now I'm really hoping GTA V on current gen is discounted.

There should be a discount R knows they wont get as many sells right away unless they discount it. I wont be buying it until the price drop, no f*cking way.

same reason y i dont have reaper of souls yet on the X1

minecraft did it, come on R get with it.

They will never get as close to as many sales on PS4/One since there are only about 14 million consoles sold vs. 160 million PS3/360s when the game came out...they'll be lucky to sell 1.5 million by Christmas

Hopefully when V/Online comes out on Steam there will be a massive insta sale (Buy Now!) that will be a discount in which I will be pleased.

heck it would be worth full price if all they do is eliminate the cheaters, fix the netcode and matchmaking as well as adding filters for chosing quickplay jobs such as blocking custom crap races/deathmatches and anything with $$$s in the title, improve render distances and balance it.  it would definitely be a whole new game then, haha!
