Edit: Apparently there is a feature for this, but is there any reason why is this not on by default?

Why do we get notifications when someone likes your post but not when someone replies to your post? How does this make sense and who programmed this?

I don't come to this site to see how many likes I can get on a certain post, I come for the conversation with other members on like minded topics. I mean isn't a forum just a online discussion site. Not a site on how many likes someone can accumulate on a certain post. Just makes it into a popularity contest to see who is the most witty and not a actual forum.

Why must someone have to manually search to see a reply or the conversation you might be having with someone?
