This is something that GTA online really needs n would really go a long way with making each car completely different and scarp the whole buying different paint colors, just put it an option to paint car and then have sliders for the colors to make it the exact color u want

or this video is badass too

I don't see why they don't use alot more of Midnight Club: LA's customisation. It is their game after all.

It's amazing how R* created Midnight Club which is NFS Tuning unofficial sequel, yet car modding in this game leaves much to desire.

i have played MCLA so.. so.. much, but we should not forget that GTA isnt primarily a race game, so why should we have a better customization system than a race game? On another note it would just take too much time if they started it now.

Implying that the title makes it a car game when it's clearly a game about crime...because the Story Mode has you going around doing nothing that doesn't involve cars, right?

The game was originally supposed to be called "Race & Chase", but there was no racing...

So Grand Theft Auto should be on the shelf right next to Need For Speed, Midnight Club, and Gran Turismo, huh?

That doesnt mean anything, its about making the best game possible like the CEO said. Customization is a big deal in all areas,it not only adds more to the game,it makes each car look different plus ppl love to customize everything to how they want it to look. There's countless complaints about wishing this game had.more n rockstar needs to listen

Apparently Rockstar underestimated how obsessive, anal, and demanding people would be about their PVs...simple as that, especially with something that has no effect on gameplay

There is no point in the game where you will never use cars.  Take out all the cars.  Is it grand theft auto now?  I can guarantee you that if gta 6 has no enterable cars, 90% of the gta fanbase would stay at gta 5.  This is clearly a car game with crime elements to it.  Why does everyone complain about the car physics if its not a car game?  why does everyone complain about the rammers in races if its not about cars?  gta is clearly a car game.  that doesnt mean that it is a street racing/racing simulator.  its a car game.

and fyi, race n chase had various CAR related missions such as racing, and police chases which you could either be a criminal or a cop. The original "idea" for Race'n'Chase was "to produce a fun, addictive, fast-paced multiplayer car racing and crashing game."  the playtesters found a glitch where the police would keep ramming the players car and the players would do that instead of the missions, therefore, gta was born.

so what have we learned here?  gta was always a car game.  the biggest feature of gta is stealing cars.  and you will never be able to finish the storymode if you dont drive cars.  hell, you wont finish the first mission.  so there.  gta is and always will be a car/crime game.

I don't see why they don't use alot more of Midnight Club: LA's customisation. It is their game after all.

It's quite not THEIR game after all. Midnight Club is developed by Rockstar San Diego, while GTA franchise is developed by Rockstar North - two different studios that creates their own unique games. Of course, it had happen that these two studies has friendly borrowed 3D models etc. from each other. So just because their first name is 'Rockstar', doesn't mean they're the same and owns each other games. That'll be the same as saying a pair of identical twins are the exact same person.

Still, the departments working for Rockstar can easily pass content, ideas, concepts and mechanics of a game back and forth. Take Ubisoft for example, they have a dozen departments across the globe all working on games such as Assassin's Creed. The mechanics in that are multiple departments sharing and using ideas to create one game. Rockstar San Diego and Rockstar North could've done the same. Not saying that they can but it's what they could've chosen to do.

It would've made the vehicle customisation more in depth.
