buy Nvidia GT 640 4 GB DDR3 or not ? Is it good for gaming ? Thanks in advance !

These are typically used for HTPC's (home theater PC's) and I don't think they're good enough for gaming.

Can you recommend me a good graphics card for newer games ? But not something too expensive  :colgate:

Processor : AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ ( will probably change after I buy graphics card in a year or two )

4 GB DDR2 RAM ( planning to get 4 more )

OS : Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit sp 1, Windows XP 64 bit and Linux Ultimate Edition ( triple boot )

If you want, I could make you a build on PC Part Picker. It basically lists out the parts you want to purchase, and then it gives a link to where you can buy them.

 

I'll PM you a budget build I already have set up.
