I recently got a new monitor and none of the resolutions that GTA SA supports are not supported by my monitor. Whenever I try to start the game I get "cannot find 800x600x32 video mode" error. I can't delete the gta set file as the game won't even start therefore no set file is made. Yes i'm using a legit copy of the game. Is there any possible work around for this? I'm obviously not going to change monitors since I just got a new one. And I play ver 1.0 because I play samp.

I suppose You have installed and updated the drivers for the new monitor?
Is it possible that the mod is interfering with the games finding the monitor resolutions? Have you tried reinstalling the game without the mod? Or just removing the mod until you get the game working again.

All drivers are up to date. I've tried a complete reinstall of the game with no mods. Nothing has helped, unfortunately.

Did you set the monitor at 800x600x32?

I guess that kind of explains why the game cannot start.
Are you sure you don't have the Version one DVD? (Or a pirated v1). That is the only game I know of that needs the Official Patch 1.01 to add the modern resolutions, but that patch also prevents modding of the game.
