Above all I want London but if it's going to stay in the , I think the best and most relevant place would be the US-Mexico border, a place where GTA levels of violence are not unrealistic, if not:

New Orleans (Crazy street gangs, guns everywhere, unique culture and architecture, Voodoo, bayous.)

Houston (Dirty South gangsters, grills, purple drank, AKs and Mexican Cartels.)

Hawaii (Yakuza, Triads, machete wielding Native meth addicts, beautiful scenery)

Seattle (Rain, East Asian gangs, bikers)

New England (Perfect for an SA style map, Irish mob, Mafia)

Outside the US my top choice is Russia. I really, really want a GTA set in Russia, I think it's just such a totally insane place perfect for GTA.

My number 1 pick is Vice City. If they can re-create Liberty City, they can do the same to Vice City. I'm all in on that one.

2nd choice would be a new city never seen in GTA, but mentioned a lot...Carcer City. It's time for us the gamer to go to CC.

3rd would be San Fierro & Las Venturas, but I get the feeling those might come if a DLC is created for GTA V.

GTA VICE

I think Vice City would be the natural location for the next GTA, which would be great, although I would also like to see a return to London.

Italia features huge cities with enough urban and modern regions almost as much as rural areas on the country. Beautiful nature all across the land, and romantic small alleys inbetween.
Perfect for a dark mafia story.

My ideas for GTA VI locations

1) A North American woodland biome with 3 cities an the country. The first city is a Chicago-based city called Slaughterhouse City.  (Chicago is a hub for the meatpacking industry, hence the name.)  The second city will be a city base on Detroit called Auto City (Detroit is the center of the American auto industry and has the real-life nickname motor city.)  The third city will be based on Toronto.  Because it's Canada, the police are less experienced when it comes to dealing with violent crime, there will be no Ammu-Nation stores and there will be less armed citizens due to stronger gun control.  Illegal goods can be brought across the US-Canada border.  If the game was set 20 years or so in the past, Michael and Trevor could be supporting characters, seeing how the two met bringing illegal goods across the border in 1993.  If the game took the 3 protagonist system form GTA V, each protagonist could be from a different city.  Because the game takes place in the Northern US/ Southern Canada, there would be lots of snow.

2) The game would be set in 2 cities.  The first city would be a Washington, DC-inspired city called Federal City.  The map would have DC and the nearby suburbs and smaller cities in Maryland and Virginia.  There would also be a woodland area with a river based off the the real-life Potomac River and the surrounding woods.  NOOSE and FIB would have a strong presence, because their national headquarters would be in the city.  The game could have a modern setting, or be set in the 90's during the crack epidemic, when DC was the most dangerous place in the US.  (If the game was set in the 90's, there would be no NOOSE, because the Department of Homeland Security, NOOSE's real-life equivalent didn't exist until the early 2000's.)  The second city would be based on Baltimore.  Baltimore is a port city known for lots of crime and gangs.  (There could be lots of references to The Wire, the same way Vice City often referenced Miami Vice.

Both of these regions have never been in the GTA series, so they have lots of potential for innovative gameplay and story.

New England (Perfect for an SA style map, Irish mob, Mafia)

There's also lots of drugs too. Here in Manchester, NH there's a growing Heroin problem, and crimes like theft, robbery, grand theft auto, and assaults are becoming more common.

I agreed with you, right up until you said you had a feeling that SF and LV would be made as a DLC for GTA V. R*  spend 2-4 years making GTA IV's Liberty City, and V's Los Santos, and  you think they're just gonna make 2 new cities as DLC?

IF we see a new location as DLC for V it's gonna be Liberty City, since the map is already made, it just needs to be updated, and changed to reflect LC of 2013. It would not take anymore effort than remaking GTA V for Xbox1 and PS4.

I would love to see a rust belt/Midwestern game since previous GTA games have all been on the East Coast or West Coast. I think the midwestern theme would really work for a GTA game because the Midwest was thriving during the 50s but then suffered a lot in the following years with economic and population decline.

A lot of you guys have played and enjoyed Vice City during that period.  I've only recently been following the series starting with IV. A piece of me would love to see VC come back. I don't know how R* would set a current theme for the world in Florida and compete with the 80's.  Fans of VC might make comparisons and nastalgia might not come flooding back leading to disappointment.

With that said, I think  Boarder Patrol should get in on the game somehow.  A city close to Mexico could prove to be very interesting.  Crime, corruption and greed are all there for the taking.  Think about the high speed chases to make it back across the boarder, The Cartel and their ruthless tactics, and the little boarder towns on either side of the boarder.  Depending on which part of the 2,000 mile boarder that is used,  the Pacific Ocean and/or the Rio Grande can be used.

I've been thinking recently about the possibility of a new map based on Texas and Louisianna (can't spell for sh*t). In the west you have a mix of both the desert and forest areas of Texas with a very urbanised Dallas thrown in the middle, in the east you have bright, sunny, New Orleans and swampland around it.

Other than that I would love to see modern Boston or 90's Washinton.

While I've been a big supporter of 70's San Fierro since V was released, I'm warming a lot to the idea of a new location we haven't seen yet.

From existing locations;

1. Vice City.

2. London.

3. San Fierro/Las Venturas

For new locations;

1. Sydney NSW Australia, at least for a set of 'prologue' missions.

Cheers.

I'd like to see the Game take place in the Philadelphia Area.

Philadelphia could be the GTA world's Carcer City, have another part of alderny, or maybe even all of alderney, Allentown to the North, Reading to the west, and Camden as well. All those cities are known for their crime.

Also since Philadelphia and NYC are only 80 miles apart, you could have both Carcer City and Liberty City, having alderny (New Jersey) seperate them, being able to drive from one city to the other.

I think that would be pretty cool. The Philadelphia Area is pretty diverse for being on the east coast. You have the Poccono mountains, the farmland, miles of suburbia, the Jersey Shore and more. I feel it's the perfect place for the next GTA.

I feel like it would be a good idea to expand to another city. While I want to re-visit Vice City, I wouldn't complain about a brand new location.

Well, we're only about 8 months away from finding out. San Andreas released in '04, GTAIV ' announcements started in '06, released '08. GTAV announcements started '011, released '13.

I really think GTA:O is going to first re-skin Liberty City, getting players used to traveling across locales.

GTA VI will have multi-protagonists in Los Santos, Liberty City, and a third "brand new HD" city, probably Vice City plus surrounding everglades.

The Theme of VI? IV Tackled the American Dream, V tackled the pursuit of the all mighty dollar, I have a feeling VI will be about the decline of Empire. America's, and your protagonists. Expect serious drug operations and fixing politics to take up a chunk of the story.

One of the lead characters will be female, and another will start out good and "break bad" to be the worst of them all.

From old/existing locations:

  • San Fierro - It was my favorite city in GTA San Andreas and i'd like to see it remade. I don't really care about what time period, but many people who suggest SF want it in the 1970's and i'm cool with that. Perhaps it could include a mission where you escape from a Alcatraz-based max security prison like in Saints Row 2.
  • Carcer City - It could have that dangerous, gritty feel that was present in GTA 3 and 4, could be based on a combination of rust belt cities, could feature Manhunt characters as mission givers, and could have an emphasis on stealth and executions.
  • Las Venturas - Mafia presence and mafia owned casino, casino heists, gambling, etc.
  • North Yankton - One of the few completely new settings not featured in the original GTA, it would interesting to play in the whole state. It could feature small towns like/including Ludendorf, areas of wilderness and a large city based on a combination of midwestern cities.

New locations:

  • Quebec, 1990's - It could be set during the canadian biker wars of the 1990's, it would pretty much be a mix between San Andreas and The Lost and Damned.
  • Rio de Janero - I'd like a GTA revolving around favela gang warfare similar to what is seen in Max Payne 3.
  • Housten and a region of Northern Mexico - It could be similar to RDR in that it features explorable areas in both USA and Mexico. It could feature an american white or black protagonist and a mexican protagonist, could revolve around drug smuggling, border crossing, cartels, etc.
  • Misc. southern towns and wilderness, 1930's - Set during the depression, it could feature bank robberies, Bonnie and Clyde style bank robbers, John Dillinger style gangs, perhaps a minor mafia presence, and themes of racial discrimination, although this would be much more fitting as a Mafia game or a Red Dead spin off than a GTA game. If it was a GTA a game it could feature the children or grandchildren of RDR characters.

Note: Whole USA mabye Changed into Something

Idea 1: An American Southern-Midwestern-Northeastern Biome with lots of Cities, Countryside & Eastern Canada. If the game took the multiple protagonist system form GTA V, each 4 protagonist could be from a different Region.

Idea 2: San Fierro & Las Venturas with Big Countryside. San Fierro is a Port City with lots of Crime & the Famous Golden Gate Bridge. Las Venturas is the Casino Capital of the World.

What would be awesome is that if GTA could be a mega-map. One of the Tex-a-plex triangle, and everything in between. That would include houston, Dallas, ft. Worth, San Antonio, Austin, Galveston, Waco, college station/Bryan, and all of the little cities along the 10, 45, 35, 290, and highway 6.

Just think about it, all the cultures and the land in the area. You would get your Mexican cartel and gang Hispanics in houston and the majority in San Antonio. Your hoods, filled with your black gangs in houston and Dallas. The energy capital of the world in houston. The oil capital in Dallas, ranching capital in ft. Worth, and your government problems in Austin, the capital of Texas. Austin is also a town of rich white people, and a college town. College station and Waco are also college towns, but those two are different, cuz there you'll find a bunch of rednecks. You can get the hill country, the piney woods of east texas, and your beaches in Galveston all in one place. The amount of diversity is unbelievable!

I hated how in gta v there was no where to fly a plane to. But there could be several with this idea, being that Dallas and ft worth city limits have two airports, houston has two airports, and San Antonio and Austin each with their own major airport.

Let's also not forget about the armed forces. The map would include fort hood, and several Air Force bases around San Antonio. So there would be several locations to steal a jet from.

I also forgot to mention about how there would still be plenty of cars to steal. Lots of wealthy buisness men and women in houston, Dallas, and Austin. Let me also mention that there are beaches in Texas. And that the Galveston bay/clear lake area is the third largest boating community in the nation behind ft lauderdale and Miami. And the houston port is one of the busiest in the world.

You can have it all in one map. But is it possible, I have no idea, I can only hope.

San Fierro in the 70s or completely new location for me.

Also off topic, is it possible to edit in new options for a poll once it's been posted?

The reason being that I want to make a comprehensive poll for the next GTA location as opposed to a simple one like this.
