is there a point in gaining territoy in LS before you go to san fierro?

because apparently after the Green Sabre mission grove street lose their turf and it seems like there is no point gaining all the turf before the mission. Or, is it that you gain it back when you come back to Los Santos?

After 'The Green Sabre' you lose all the territories gained prior that mission. They will no longer be occupied by GSF members, and after CJ's arrival to Los Santos later in the game, you will have to take them over again. There aren't many advantages of taking over the territories prior The Green Sabre other than gaining respect (thus unlocking more gang members available to recruit), money from the asset in the Grove Street, and upgrading your weapon skills.

There are, however, territories which will be owned by GSF even after The Green Sabre, but those territories only exist if you did some sort of territory glitch (it creates new territories in the whole San Andreas). If you are interested, you can check out some topics in the Cheats & Tricks section. I would advise not to exploit this glitch now if you haven't completed the game yet. It's also better to ask whether the particular method for gaining new territories is safe and will not produce more glitches which can seriously damage your game.

Well the more territories  you have the more money you can pick up at the asset in Grove Street , that way you can save up money.

Make (pickup) as much MONEY as possible, and earn Respect quickly during the wars. As far as losing weapons, big deal. There are plenty of FREE weapons pickups all over the map, if you Explore. You can go the entire game without buying any weapons/body armours. But you need the money to buy the safe houses and business properties.

No, because it resets itself.

I've always disliked that part. It's a fun thing to do when you're bored, though.

The point is you can earn more money before the Green Sabre mission. Gaining more territories increase the money which appears on Grove Street.

Also you gain more respect, increase your weapon skills and learn to survive against heavily armed mobsters. If don't play carefully, you will be easily killed in turf wars so it gives you some gun fight experience for future.
