I love it. Your car isn't invincible and it provides a challenge, especially since you can't bail out of a car.

I hate how cop cars can push a damn Securicar off the cliff *looks at "Decoy" mission*

Other than that, it's okay but can really get annoying after a while.

Well, I think it's better than GTA SA but for me it's not so enjoyable.

3D for life.  I like all games and think they are pretty much similar for driving and vehicle damage (III, VC, SA, LCS, VCS)

I just bought this again from Gamers Gate last weekend..... I played the original and have played the rest too... This is probably my favorite one to date... the damage is funny too lol... I agree it does suck sometimes especially when the 5-O is smashing you from all sides lol...

It traumatized me when I was a kid. The instant explosions were a good challenge but frustrating. The mafia ruined my chance of beating turismo for the first time :( Shotguns + cars = you're screwed.

That's why I tied up all loose ends in Portland before I killed Salvatore.

Me too nowadays. That happened way back before I knew that rule.

Yup, that's typically what you gotta do in GTA III.  It's all careful planning and proper ordering of missions, side missions, R3 Missions, and some Rampages when it comes to GTA III and going for 100%.  I must admit, I like how that is.  It actually makes it a challenge.  VC and onward it was never that challenging ever again...

The car damage was kinda annoying, but what made me the most angry were the physics. I hit a light pole once with an Infernus and the car did a flip and exploded. It makes me angry every time it happens.

I honestly can't play GTA 3 as a whole for more than an hour and a half before I start hating it for stuff like that. I did a Drop In the Ocean like 8 times because of a stupid glitch where I kept doing a superjump into the water before I got in the boat.

Since I really didn't get into III until about 2-3 years ago (always avoided it for years because I thought it was hard, saw my friend playing it back when I was like 8 and told myself I'd never try it) it really made me nervous to keep crashing, now I'm actually used to it and I think it's my favorite in the series.. and again it just adds that "dangerous" feeling altogether from the atmosphere to the little things in the gameplay.

Taxi Missions were the bane of my existence. I remember there was a week where I just tried to do every side mission on Portland before I whacked the boss.

me too I love GTA III's car damage system, I liked how you could detach your cars whole front section, good ol' times!  :r*:
