Alright, so lately I started racing cuz it's more fun than I thought
Now, you can say that it is always the skills of the driver that makes you win, but nowadays you'll lose guaranteed if you don't have an upgraded car. My question is which car is the best for each category? I guess this question has been asked several times, but the best cars change with new DLC and patches.

I'd like to see different meanings, so if you could fill in this form it'd be very great!

Best cars in its category

Super: ? (Already have Zentorno, Turismo R, Vacca & Adder)
Sports: ? (Already have Elegy RH8 & Massacro)
Muscle: ?
Off-road: ?
SUV: ? (Already have Huntley S)
Sports classics: ?
Sedans: ? (Already have Super Diamond)
Motorcycles: ? (Already have Bati)
Coupes: ? (Already have Felon & Exemplar)
Compacts: ? (Already have Panto)

Thanks in advance!

Super: ? (Already have Zentorno, Turismo R, Vacca & Adder) zentorno is prob top dog so your sorted there
Sports: ? (Already have Elegy RH8 & Massacro) both best in calss
Muscle: ? gauntlet is more fogiving, dominator and blade are faster but harder t handle
Off-road: ? - sanchez is comeptative, so is bifta for speed,,,,
SUV: ? (Already have Huntley S) good choice
Sports classics: ? ztype is the faster, monroe is easier to handle so makes gains in corners... driver choice..
Sedans: ? (Already have Super Diamond) scrap it.. go for a  shafter..
Motorcycles: ? (Already have Bati) nice choice, akuma is also good
Coupes: ? (Already have Felon & Exemplar) then your already prepared.
Compacts: ? (Already have Panto) not driven panto much, its definately fast but crew members say its very twitchy in the corners making it a hard drive... Blista is still a good compact choice, but so is the rhapsody..

if you can tame the panto.. your onto a good choice, if not blista and rhapsody are worth a try... oddly these three all drive very differently so take your time (maybe in SP) finding which suits your driving style the most...

enjoy racing dude

I set up a racing garage a while ago working from a 'best of class' list and I ended up with cars I never, ever use. Haven't come across a single compact or suv race. Ever. It's a nice idea but it does cost a bunch of garage space and I have gotten rid of those two since. But if that's not a concern for you then I'd say go for it..

I never see SUV races either, but at least for me, compact races are more common than in the past. So I recommend getting a compact if building a racing garage.

^Entire Vehicle database on R* social. Check it out and decide. It oh so nicely marks which cars are best in class for certain stats.

Thanks everyone. Garage space and money isn't an issue, so I wouldn't regret upgrading two 'useless' cars. It's always nice to have cars in different categories, in my opinion. Thanks for the answers!

Yes, i spent ages trying to get one of the streets, but couldn't find one anywhere, your best way to get one is to wait until Simeon requests one on his list, then they spawn regularly.

The best is just racing a few laps on a race which has anything to offer (tight corners, long straight part, etc.) and choose the best performing for your racestyle. But I just asked to gather information which cars are most popular ;)
