Hey everybody,

I want to talk about something that's 'Hidden in Plain Sight" that really, as far as I've noticed, no one's really been talking about.

And that is the GTA Online version of the stock market... remember that's a feature?

Anyway, I just want to know, after Rockstar Games are finished with bug fixing and getting GTA Online out of beta, how many of you guys would still be interested in the Stock Market? In other words, how many of you would use that feature once unlocked in GTA Online?

    Just asking out of curiosity...

Oh and just as a reminder, the Stock Market was supposedly going to be linked with actions in the GTA Online universe. That is, let's say you have stock in Vapid Motors... If you destroy a rival car company, your stock in Vapid will go up. I thought that would make for interesting gameplay.

Too many people have glitched money and Adders waiting to be sold. It will never end. Rockstar meant for us to be able to sway the market by destroying items belonging to rival companies, i.e. Cluckin Bell vs Burger Shot.

You can blame every mod menu, hooker duplicating, sp2mp, money dropping, billion dollar bounty using piece of trash for that feature being permanently shut down. The economy is ruined.

You are late to the party and missed the search feature...it was dicussed to death last year. The stock market was never intended for online...from what was discussed last year.

They intended to fix the stock market, but then the new FIFA came out and theyve been too busy with that for the moment. Maybe in a few years or so.

Thanks for commenting everyone!

I would respond to each and every comment, but every time I use the "Quote" option, it just creates a regular comment.

No matter though, to the person who mentioned how the in-game economy's ruined... I completely agree. There's too many little spoiled, selfish children who want everything as soon as they get in the game, they don't car how they get it, that have truly ruined what Rockstar Games wanted to / dreamed of doing with GTA Online.

Personally though, and I know a LOT of people would disagree, if Rockstar Games were able to fix all the modding, glitches, and just regular cheaters, I would fully support a GTA Online universe reset. Meaning everyone, every player would lose their rank, apartment, garages, everything. And I say that owing one apartment in the city that cost $300,000, a house in Paleto Bay for $170,000, both garages filled with cars that I like and were hard to get, and at a loser, sh*t-bucket rank at 246. However, if that would mean that not almost every player would own a Zenterno, a Rhino tank, Assault Shotgun, and a buzzard, I would be all for it.

If I remember correctly and I might be wrong on this, wasn't the stock market active in the very first days of GTAO and was one of the things that got disabled when they were trying to stabilise the game. Because I wonder if trying to track the user actions and update the stock market, may have been overloading the system.

I would love to participate in a real stock market, especially if you could do missions that could actively hurt or help companies (i.e - Orchestrate a huge attack on a Vapid shipment so their stock goes down).

But knowing R*, this would be another way to make legit money, and not sell kesh kerds, so the only way to make it big is by becoming a glitcher.

TO "Helresa,"

Really? I didn't know that. Although it makes sense, somewhat. I remember when Police Crown Victoria Metropolitan squad cars and Tow Trucks actually spawned within the first few days of GTA Online. I hope GTA Online for the Xbox One/PlayStation 4 will be out of beta by then.

TO "Xeloj,"

I'm not sure if you're trying to make a joke or are trying to commit to a conspiracy theory, but you have to understand that Rockstar Games are not out to get you to buy Shark Cards. Calm down.

I don't think they were expecting the community to work out how to "play" the markets so fast. If they put it into Online there will be no need for glitching... Just Buy PIS or w/e the latest bubble yet to bust is, and... Profit.

Not a kesh kerd whine, just that how business works, this really would be "because cash cards".

Market manipulation by billionaires is why it's offline.

I don't expect it to ever go online until every glitching bug is out of game.  That means never.  :breadfish:

It was. They took it down a week later when they got wind of a massive buy and dump conspiracy going on around the internetz.

These sort of things are an example of stock manipulation, quite possibly an easy way of turning millionaires into billionaires.  The power to influence the stocks got even worse when people had an opportunity to used glitched money.

Relax little guy. It's just reality.

R* has been tweaking things to make the mission payouts smaller, and getting money legit a bit harder than before because of kesh kerds. Any implementation of a stock market would take that into account.

You are a bonafide authentic genuine solid gold retard if you think a stock market is ever coming to GTAO.

It would be nice to have so I could park my millions in a money market fund and earn interest to help subsidize my free roam shenanigans. :)

they have tons and tons of diamonds locked in vaults but still charge an insane amount of money for the little ones.

video game companies figured out you get more pre-orders if you promise the moon. once you have their money you can then release a statement about console limitations or what ever bs you want to cover up the fact half the stuff you promised never made it into the game.

... no one's really been talking about. ...

Welcome to last October.

Everyone gave up on believing that R* would ever develop the stock market when heists never arrived. Surely people are starting to give up hope on that too.

The stock market is not necessarily the same as a consumer market.

In real life, the stock market carries some rate of risk and return.  The movers and shakers of real stock are usually large buys and sells coming from investment banks, hedge funds and/or large investors.  In GTA, the risk associated with the stocks does not exist if the money is counterfeit.  Money you earn legitimately, however, does carry some "value".  For example, a player unwilling to sell a vehicle because he has some emotional attachment to it.  Here, the player might carry some risk associated with the money he earns.

With glitchers in GTA, however, the associated risks with stocks do not exist.  A stock market in GTA would only compound the illegitimate money already in the "economy".  A glitcher would have an ability to manipulate a stock at will with zero risk.   For example, he could buy up a million shares for iFruit, let everyone buy in on the ride up, and then dump it, banking in millions.
