There are so many criticisms made about this game on these forums, some justified, mostly not, IMO.

R* themselves come in for a hell of a lot of abuse, but I've come to the conclusion that the one single element holding back GTAO back more than anything else at the current time is all the crap, ramp-infested user-created races and tedious 10000000RP etc etc knife-only deathmatches. Getting into proper races and death matches takes ages because of this sh*t.

The easy way to solve this problem is to remove the content creator. It's simply not adding any value to the game and is in fact having a negative impact on the whole experience.

Users simply can't be given tools like this because the vast majority don't have the wit to use them properly.

EDIT: Had an idea halfway through the thread which would solve the problem...

R* could add a blacklist option at the end of each job. If you choose to place a job on your blacklist, you'll never be put into that job again. The blacklist could be editable in the options to you could unblacklist jobs at any point if you wanted to.

That would solve the problem without pissing off the people creating proper content.

Easy solution is just giving us an option to only end up in Rockstar-created content.

I agree that most custom content is pure garbage, but all they had to do is give players the option to filter it out.

R* should just implement a automatic bad sports solution to the 99999999$$$$$$$$ spammers

Or make it invite only. If you choose quick job, you should be placed into R* jobs.

I've done around 500 deathmatches, and I've given up because of these stupid created matches I get sent to. I would've been well over 1200 matches by now, if there was a filtering option on the phone. Hopefully the PS4 version will be better, and most of those sh*t matches get eliminated or filtered out.

EDIT: Sad part is there are people who make good ones, but there are more bad jobs than good. I don't think the creator needs to go, the whole system needs filtering options, whether you want to be sent to R* created, or verifed job, or both if thats your preference.

I was gonna say the same thing as above. and here is more stuff for ya:

A LOT of people may make crap jobs, but there are also-

now bear with me here...

there are also people who make...

GOOD JOBS.

Crazy I know, but it's a fact. removing the entire creator would piss off a lot of players. a filtering option under the phone menu would be a much needed and useful feature.

Wow are you crazy, all the best races and captures are user made. Sure there are tons of crap ones just as there are tons of crap people. That's life.

You can say the same thing about Races.

Catch-up and Slipstream are a little much, but constantly being thrown into JUMPS JUMPS JUMPS-style races has turned me off completely.

It's a shame really. I have no doubt that there are some brilliant user-created games that are over-shadowed by the pure crap that some idiots pump out.

Just don't join any 1000000000RP jobs and you'll be okay. If you want to try new jobs, then just try them. Sometimes they suck, but sometimes they're good. That's the fun of exploring :)

R* isn't helping either with their Verified content.

Now every player thinks they can pull sh*t out of their ass and have a shot at being featured on the Newswire, and getting a cool t-shirt.

The small proportion of decent, well-thought out user content isn't worth the mountain of crap.

They are good at choosing stupid races!, some verified races don't even have clear checkpoints..

My point is that the simple act of removing the content editor (or enabling users to easily filter out user content) would instantly improve the game massively. It would be so nice to be able to select quick race for example and just get into a race, and not have to quit out four times out of five because you get dumped into some moronic rampathon created by a six-year-old.

Changes need to be made.

You should lose access to the Creator if all of your jobs are getting more dislikes than likes.

Alternatively they can remove it and make it so you have to pay to access it for like $5. You can argue that we'd lose good creators because of this, but when 95% of the jobs are complete crap, we won't be losing much.

Yeah, in the long run some sort of system where you become a kind of paid developer or approved creator might work, but it would take some time to implement. I think for now they just need to shut it down. It's not like there aren't tons of races and deathmatch locations to choose from as it is.

Solution: any race or DM with a title $10000000 & 50000000RP gets an automatic console ban for a month. Second offence is a temporary IP ban by Sony or Microsoft at the request of Rockstar.

I've basically given up on racing & DMs because of this. I'll go back full time racing & DM-ing when a quick job filter feature is implemented.

It is a great shame as some quality races have come from what users/players have made up...

4 way madness, i loved that track, jumps in the right place, excellent cornering, great fun... It would be a pity to miss out on some great content as i had a blast on that track...

Content Creator should be locked to Rank 200 or 300 people. It's mostly these low leveled RP noobs that abuse it.

How do you know that?

Edit:

In any case, that's just generalization. Rank doesn't say anything about the maturity of a player.

It has generally done more harm than good, I have console set to filter out user created from matchmaking. Shame because a lot of user created races are more interesting than Rockstar races

Find some friends or a crew and stop playing with random idiots.

I've played some created content that is far, far, far better than any of the crap that R* create/verify and it's because I play stuff made by my crewmates and not random 12 year olds with an RP fetish.

You can't avoid them, that's the whole entire point! You have to wait for it to load up, then quit out, then repeat the process usually at least three, four or five times before finding something you actually might want to play, meaning it takes like ten minutes just to get into a normal race.

I want to be able to just jump into a race when I have a few mins to spare, not have to hope that I have friends online and in GTA exactly when I want to play.

If R* made user content invite-only so people like yourself can play and enjoy your own creations that would be fine. They absolutely shouldn't appear as quick jobs in public lobbies though.
