What are some things you have purchased that you regretted afterwards?

I don't really have any input, but I thought this would make an interesting topic.

Chrome rims for my car. Cost me $1,800. Might change them. Too flashy for the car.

-1988 Yamaha Razz scooter. Has something wrong with it, and has been sitting behind my house in a pile of dismantled parts. Worst $30 ever spent.

-PS2 slim. I wish I had bought an original SCPH-30001 like I used to have instead.

My PS2 slim lasted a few years, but nothing like the "phat" model. That's what I currently have and it's perfect.

I got tricked into buying a Marklin BR82 tank engine at a model train convention after being duped by the vendor that it would work on DC track, but only the lights wouldn't work because the third rail powered the lights (Marklin models are 3 rail/AC powered). I take it home - boom. Nothing.

f*ck you Marklin you $200 dollar paperweight.

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeros

Literally one map and one mission. The rest of the "game" is, like, 8 gimmicky challenges you can try and perform. All on that same map, mind you. The only thing that changes are the enemy placement and scripted events.

I paid $40 for a demo. Are they all like this?

No matter. It'll be the first, last and only MGS game I will ever purchase.

waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat I've had my slim for almost 10 years and it still works. Doesn't play brand new games... or many other games... but it works.

I regret purchasing every song I've ever purchased on iTunes. Could have easily saved $100 by just taking the couple of extra seconds with a youtube downloader.

All the food I've bought when I could have packed food from home. I'd have saved so much money.

Pre-ordering GTA V; an overall, weak single player that was made to keep casual gamers happy.
The SP on PS3/360 turned boring quickly unlike prev. games, to me, and feels tacked on to try and play GTA:O, and enjoy it, before the NG/PC version arrives.
Disappointed!

Nose hair trimmer. sh*t does not work as intended and causes me to sneeze every time I put it in my nose. I have gone back to the old, trusted scissor.

This. It was an impulse buy for me. It's not a bad system by any means, but I just can't afford to be spending money on games for it atm.

If they're still in date it isn't a lost cause yet my friend.

Some old Minolta 18-70 lens on eBay. Bought it because I was hung over and bored. Put it on my camera once to check it worked, been in my camera box since. Might dick about with it with some macro extension tubes, though that would probably be a pointless purchase too.

That and Gears of War III when I bought my 360. Coincided with hooking up with the missus and a new job, still in its packaging!

Oh, god. I have so many items of clothing that I've bought and worn, maybe, once or twice. Some things I've never worn because they were impulse buys and didn't suit me. Bras where the sizing was badly wrong that don't fit comfortably.

I've stopped the impulse buying mostly, now - if I don't need it I don't buy it. It helps that I don't have much time to go looking around sale rails and such ...

A 1984 Toyota Celica GT. Drunken impulse purchase that I bought based on a fuzzy camera phone picture almost solely because it had awesome OZ-Sparco rally wheels on it. £200.

Engine was seized. Had to pay £70 to have it trailered back to my house. Sold the wheels for £200, scrapped the rest and got £65. Failed to break even.

Bought an expensive black wooden coffee table with a glass surface for a few thousand bucks at an awesome Asian furniture store a couple years back. Got home, put it down to unlock the door, and as I picked it up again, the glass slid out and shattered on the ground. No one f*cking told me the glass could slide out.

Also, we bought 4 bar stools (about 850 bucks each. I'm talking SA bucks here btw) for the island in our kitchen. They were just in the way and we didn't use them so they are now just standing in the garage gathering dust.

All the useless sh*t I have scattered all around my house. I had a consumerist phase years ago which now I regret about. It's stressful to have that many crap you don't need around you.
