Many have noticed that BAWSAQ prices have not changed since July 15. Hopefully this is because Rockstar is working on something. But here's a possible risk:  people have been buying and selling stocks for weeks with no changes to stock prices showing. If BAWSAQ unfreezes and suddenly "catches up" to all the trades that have taken place in the blind, there could be severe, sudden effects on Michael, Franklin, and Trevor's portfolios. A "market crash" seems likely, because anyone who sees this coming would have cashed out for safety. In real life when money flees a market it crashes and anybody who doesn't get out gets wiped out.

Now, maybe nothing will happen because BAWSAQ doesn't really work and Rockstar maybe will ignore all the trades made during the freeze. But if it worked legitimately there should be massive wealth destruction resulting from this malfunction.

This would be quite cool although I think a crash would work better Online...because you know it will actually affect your character.

Wonder what's going on. Maybe they're finally getting ready to implement it into GTAO like it was supposed to be there from the start...

BAWSAQ lost it's appeal after the assassinations. It all seemed a bit lifeless and dull.

As someone who loves business, and investment, I was seriously disappointed by the included markets.

I mean come on! We should be able to see stock being affected by our actions in the game world eg destroying company vehicles etc).

If only it worked online....

People are still using Bawsaq?

on-topic: Id' like to see this implemented to online..and maybe when you get all the stocks from a company you could own that company that you invested for.

the problem for rockstar with the BAWSAQ online is, (as I see it) mainly down to the fact that you can buy in-game $ for real money. This along with the Casino, in some countries would be seen as on-line gambling. The problem is that many Countries throughout the world do not allow on-line gambling & the ones that do have many different rules & regs to comply with so it makes the whole thing very very complicated.

JMPO though.

Tech it wont count as gambling because you cant trade in your in game money for real money.  You can only buy in game money with real money leaving all investments ultimately trapped in game. In the end you can never win real money only spend it.

Um... BAWSAQ is only usable in single player. My original, no-cheats 100% playthrough save has no billionaire characters because I didn't do the assassination investments optimally.

My characters ended the story with about $30 million each, so getting to where I can buy all the movie theaters and the golf club without feeling broke afterwards is going to take quite a bit of GTA financial planning.

Until BAWSAQ prices froze, Sprunk and Pump n Run were safe places to park money for extended periods of time, offering slow but steady growth. I had all but a half million of each character's money invested. Not anymore, not till it's fixed.

My first play through I didn't know about saving the assassinations till the end. Hell I thought they were just required for the story seeing as how the first one is and has such a major impact on Franklin.

I also ended up with about 20 million. Thanks to BAWSAQ though I turned that into 2.1 billion over about 2 weeks real life time. So it's still possible but if the stock market is broken right now then you better not spend lots of money. Hold onto that 30 million for when it comes back.

I don't know how someone could follow BAWSAQ regularly and not have billions of dollars by now.

I did the BAWSAQ thing a while back after reading a topic about it on here. I made billions within a couple of weeks for all my characters & now have more $$$ than I know what to do with. Bought all the properties, Trevor owns the golf course by the way LOL. Rest are shared out as much as possible. A lot of my $$$ have to stay in shares anyway as the bank balance maxes out at just over 2.1 Billion.

The only thing left to buy now is all the clothes for all the characters from all the shops which I cant really be bothered with. Could really do with more stuff to buy like businesses or houses.

Casino or horse racing would be good too.

The reason the bank balance caps at 2.1 billion and why you have to keep the rest in shares, is because GTA V on last gen consoles was a 32 bit process. The maximum value you can address in 32 bit integer is 2,147,483,647

http://en.wikipedia....wiki/2147483647

This makes me wonder, if GTA V has a 64 bit process for next gen/PC... then the money cap would be much higher, unless they arbitrarily set a cap to some random number like say $100,000,000,000. Or they could just keep the money value integer as a 32 bit int.
