Which weapons can I dump?

I have unlocked/bought all weapons. I only ever use the best of ecah category, and I'm sick of having to cycle through them all each time. Short of a feature whereby; you can set your default weapon for each category, without having to manually change it each time you start GTA Online; which weapons can I get rid of because there is another weapon that matches or surpasses it in each of the varying areas of strength (accuracy, fire rate, etc)?

 

I know I need to keep:

 

AP Pistol

Assault Shot Gun

[Other] Shot Gun (forget name)

Special Carbon

Heavy Sniper

Advanced MPG

 

Obviously I will keep all the none-gun weapons, but are there any guns I have not mentioned that I need to keep? I don't even see the point in keeping the mini-SMG, as the AP pistol is better again?

I think the mini-SMG might have a slightly larger clip, but that doesn't really matter in a car.

I use the heavy pistol for the document car in RR as the AP pistol tends to blow the car up if you're a little sloppy, but that's about it.

Believe it or not it's the other way round, Micro SMG expands to 30 rounds, AP Pistol expands to 36. Don't know why I still carry the Micro SMG actually.

OP: when you say 'Advanced MPG' are you talking about the Combat Machine Gun? If not, I'd carry that with an extended clip.  No, it's not as accurate as the assault rifles, but with 200 rounds between reloads I find it's good for delivering suppressing fire without being as cumbersome as the Mini Gun.

What I have Kept:

 

Pistols - Lamar's Pistol/AP PIstol

SMG's/MG's - Combat MG and Sweeper 

Rifles - ALL. Right now I use the Advanced Rifle.  Carbine Rifle is Suppressed.

Shotguns - Auto Shotgun/Musket

Heavy Weapons - ALL.

Thrown Weapons - ALL

Melee - Hammer (given to me by modder somehow without me knowing so wont drop or gone)/Knife

i have all my guns as i refuse to drop them, i hope they add a gun locker.

anyway if you feel like dropping guns, you should simply keep...

If you're asking how to drop them, go to your weapons wheel and press Y (360) or triangle (ps3)  walk around while you drop weapons otherwise you'll end up picking up the same guns, if you stay in one spot.

I only dropped the weaker sniper as the seconds you lose scrolling to the heavy sniper can be valuable.
It's great to know the only sniper I'm equipping is the most powerful one. I didn't drop any others.

I dropped everything but the:

-AP Pistol

-Advanced Rifle

-Combat MG

-Assault Shotgun

-Minigun

-RPG

-Sticky bombs

-Heavy Sniper

Basically all the best-in-class weapons, all heavy weapons excluding the grenade launcher, plus the Pistol .50 because it's badass. No need to bother with the SMGs, all pistols except the AP pistol, basic sniper rifle, tear gas, grenades, low-tier and/or DLC assault rifles, or basic MG.

Honestly, I wish Rockstar would change it back to the other GTA games had it. One weapon for each class. They could easily add a locker to your house/garage (Both SP and MP) that you could switch your weapons at.

You don't need any rifles except of the Special carbine.

Combat MG
Special Carbine
Heavy Sniper
Micro SMG (great fire rate, good to use in a vehicle.)
AP pistol
RPG
Grenade launcher
Minigun
Assault shotgun
Sawed off shotgun
Stickies
Grenades
Tear gas

I'd keep these, will be enough for all situations.

However I like the weapons that aren't the"best" too, so I have almost every weapon.

Think I have all except the standard assault rifle and the weaker MG.

This is what I have:

  1. Pistols: Combat Pistol [Great when you only need a decent gun], AP Pistol and the Vintage Pistol. Obviously the sh*tty starter one 'cause we can't drop that sh*t.
  2. Assault Rifles: Carbine Rifle [suppressed] and Advanced Rifle [un-suppressed]
  3. SMGs/LMGs: All except the SMG/MP5.
  4. Shotguns: Assault Shotgun and [so-called] Musket.
  5. Snipers: All. lvl139+ and still use the regular sniper. ;)
  6. Heavy: All.
  7. Thrown: Grenades and Stickies.
  8. Melee: Knife and the dagger.

I keep about the same as the OP. I do however also keep the regular sniper now. Reason being that I was once quickly dropping unwanted weapons after a survival and mistakenly dropped the heavy sniper along with more rounds of ammo than I care to remember. We all know it hold too many. But I am still an idiot!!. Anyway the regular sniper is now like an backup ammo carrier. And I use it again sometimes now.

Surely if you choose to drop all your grenades or tear gas, they will just 'auto-replenish' when you are in the lobby screen of a job and opt to 'buy all ammo'?
